Introduction
• Demolition can be defined as part of construction on site,
which involved, upgrading the existing structures, renovation
works and refurbishment .
• Partially demolition is a method of taking down the building
with carefully preserving the valuable element of the building.
• For demolition type it can divided into two categories first is
fully demolition and the second it is a partially demolition

• Build in 1923 ( 88 years )
• The road opposite the building is the main road to
enter to Klang town.
• the structure is made from concrete
(beam) and the floor is made from
wooden.
• The neighbour besides the building
is the cyber café
Requirement and sequence for
demolition work
Safety Requirement
• The location of the area is the congested area. So the safety
precaution is important to be carry out. The area of site is
dangerous and tend to risk for the public.

• All the safety precaution such as fence and the temporary


road must be build by the contractor.

• The existing road besides the building must be temporary


close because to allow the machineries to do the work.

SAFETY FIRST
Dust control

• For demolition work, it produce large volume


of dust and can be dangerous to public.
• Water spraying is used to control dust in
demolition work.
Removal debris
• Demolition will generate huge amount of debris.
• In this case, before and during demolition, the
following provision should thus be provided:
• Overall debris disposal planning
• Traffic routing for debris handling and vehicular
access etc.
• Sorting of non-structural materials such as timber
and metal for recycling.
• When material is being dropped, a lookout man shall
be deployed to ensure general safety.
• Clear the site using backhoe and lorry
Traffic control
• Consult with proper authorities
• Must provide safety signage
• Close the road near the demolition site and
make alternative road to avoid hazard causes
by dust near site area
• Protection for pedestrian may be required
before demolition can begin
