Examples of offenses that may result in first an
oral warning, second a written warning, and third
in immediate discharge:
• Unsafe conduct
• Tardiness
• Unauthorized absence from the job
• Failure to maintain satisfactory and harmonious working
relationships with the public or other employees
• Smoking in unauthorized areas
• Failure to punch time clock
• Foul and abusive language
• Inefficiency, incompetence or negligence in the
performance of duties.
Examples of offenses that may result in first a
written warning and second in immediate
discharge:
• Gambling
• Careless, negligent or improper use of organization's
property
• Unauthorized or improper use of any type of leave.
• Failure to report to work without notification for a period of
one or two days.
• Sleeping on the job.
• Violation of, or failure to comply with an executive order,
published rules and regulations of the organization.
CONCLUSION
The strategic management process is a continuous
process of improving the business in an effort to
succeed and reach company goals. The main
purpose of operating a disciplinary procedure is
to encourage improvement in an employee
whose conduct or performance are below
acceptable standards. So the management
should strategically set out what is acceptable
and unacceptable behaviour for employees, how
unacceptable behaviour will be managed.
