InRoads Training
What is Required as first Step

Create a working environment

Create Project Defaults
Where you create files/directory structure
To access the InRoads Input and Output files
To use the line styles and text fonts
InRoads remembers the directory path for
future use

Enter the Surface Name, Description, Max. length (0 will ignore

the length option while triangulating) , Preference (Symbology
of surface data) and Material .
InRoads Training Import Surface Data

Select File Menu and click on import and then surface

InRoads Training Save Files
1. When you invoke File-Save option, InRoads will take the
user to the project directory where all InRoads files are
stored.
2. Save the Digital Terrain Model File as Ghubra1.dtm in the
project directory
3. Also save project default directory as Al Ghubra.rwk
Please remember
1. InRoads works differently than Geopak in many ways
2. It does not save the working file automatically.
3. The User needs to save during and at the end of
working session.
4. It saves data in different files and not in one file as in
Geopak *.gpk
5. It saves project defaults in file with extension *.rwk
6. Digital Terrain Model in *.dtm
7. Alignment Data in *.alg
8. Cross Section Templates in *.tml
9. Roadway Library in *.rwl
InRoads Training Plotting InRoads Data

Please remember
1. InRoads Plots Lines and Text using level
symbology as defined in preferences.
2. If User changes any setting in the preference
file and re-plots it, the previous plotted data
will be replaced.
3. For example, if alignment stations are plotted
with certain text height in dgn file and if text
size is changed in preference file, InRoads will
replace the already plotted data.
4. Data can be plotted on different scales using
scale factor
InRoads Training Invoke InRoads

When Project Defaults are set and the user wants to

invoke them after subsequent sessions,
File Menu and press open and then select Al
Ghubra.rwk and Ghubra.dtm
