The roman military
The roman military was the one of the most successful and powerful
empire in history, they dominated the western side of the world and
were able to hold it for a thousand years. How did they do this? Well
they encouraged women to have many children so they could have
more future men that could fight for them. They never surrendered,
they fought through the dark times and they never spoke about ending
the war unless they were victorious. They were strongly recognised for
being strategic and always being one step ahead.

Religion
Roman Religion
Religion is very big part in Ancient Rome. They believed in
their gods and some of them are the names of planets like
Mars which is the god of war, Mercury the messenger of the
gods, Neptune the god of the sea, Venus the goddess of love
and the most important was Jupiter which was the king of
the gods along with his wife Juno the queen of the gods. The
reason for the gods were why events happened like love or
war and why by basing it off a god.

Architecture
Roman Architecture was unique and they were built to look
grand and stunning when viewed from outside. They largely
relied on posts in a lintel design which means upright posts
with a gap in between and a horizontal block on top to form
a royal look. And since the design meant heavy loads of
cement the inside is very limited to space due to the need of
support on the inside. The romans have perfected the use of

Creative Arts
Rome is recognised for its vast amount of art expressed in
sculptures even dating back to 509 B.C.E. The Greek had a
influence on roman arts along with adapting to most of their
art and culture. They had a unique way of thinking where to
have a copy of an art work wasnt of any less value to the
original one. There are many different forms of roman art
including architecture, painting, sculpture, gem engraving

Daily life
The daily life of a roman soldier was hard, they trained and
developed a unstoppable army defeating an army force of
250,000 troops with only 50,000 roman soldiers. The
victories were because of intense training that if a new
recruit was to join they had to train 2 times a day also
marching nearly 20 miles in full battle armour 3 times a
month. Their standards were to be able to march 20 miles in
the time frame of 5 hours. They were trained to a whole new
level to where they had to carry a 14 kilogram

Roman Government
Rome experienced three types of governments the
Monarchy, Republic and Empire. The people believed Rome
came to be when Romulus killed his brother and stole his
throne to name Rome after himself. Rome was ruled by its
kings in the earlier times. The roman government created a
system to divide to power which was a safeguard for
oppression by any single individual. Power was voted by the
public and officials where elected. They then made the
emperor the decision maker.

Social Structure of Rome

In Rome there are social classes such as Patricians, Senators,
Equestrians, Commons, Freedpeople and Slaves. Patricians
were the official and advisories positon of the king. Senators
got their power although its less than the Patricians.

Historians studying Rome usually look at their great architecture with buildings that look
magnificent from the outside and they also study their statue because they provide visual
information about famous people. Rome is interesting to research because their meaning of
art is expressed by statues and most of their history is represented out of statues. They
often look at how Rome accepted all the cultures until the fall of Rome. They also look at
how the Romans worshiped their gods. After they explored Rome they found shoes that
were still intact of what the Romans wore along with notes and letters from the Roman army
to their family. Some artefacts they found were army equipment and Roman currency of the
time. Ancient Rome is interesting because their statues are able to stand for a long time.
The colosseum is another great example of research as they used it for gladiator fighting as
entertainment. A lot of artefacts were found there and today the colosseum is a great
tourist attraction. Many of Romes buildings still stand and they make for a great view of the
past as we see how our architecture has evolved over the centuries and how us humans
have changed our materials and deign of our buildings. Roman army battle grounds usually
contain a lot of their weapons and equipment's and it lets us

Romulus and Remus

Romulus and Remus were twins that were abandoned, put in a basket and placed into the
River Tiber and babies. They were found by a female wolf after they reached the shore, the
wolf then raised them (why the statue was created) and then after a while a shepherd
found them and brought up the twins. When they grew up they decided to rule over the
land that the wolf found them in. They fought and Remus was killed by his brother and
Romulus because the sole founder of Rome. But no one knows the story exactly as it dates
back way too far and we dont have enough info to get a full story of Romes growth. It
shows us how the Ancient Rome empire that lasted 500 years was created all by twins that
were abandoned and looked after by a wolf as it went so well with people having multiple
cultures. The entertainment then was gladiator fighting in the colosseum. It also shows us
how basic all their stuff was even though they lasted 500 years. It shows us how the
humans have evolved over the years along with their weapons buildings and
entertainment.
