Chapter 3: 3D Modeling

Introduction
We will use the template ACAD3D, in the file open. On the workspace setting, it is better to use the 3D Modeling. Use the Buttons on the Status Bar to smoothen the use of the commands. Draw tools in 2D is still applicable in this design. To familiarize the use of the 3D command we will practice some of it.

Exercise 18
Instructions: Draw the figure using Polygon and Polysolid command. Given: height = 60, width = 5, justification = center.

Exercise 19
Instructions: In the Top view, construct drawing 1 and with the Copy tool, copy the drawing three times.

Exercise 20
Instructions: With the Region tool change all the outlines into regions.

Exercise 21
Instructions: From fig.1 Draw the fig. 2 using Extrude tool. Given: isolines = 16, taper = 5, and height = 100

Fig.1

Fig.2

Exercise 22
Instructions: From fig.1, construct fig. 3 using Region tool.

Fig.2

Fig.3

Exercise 23
Instructions: From fig.1 Place the screen in the Front view. Construct a semicircular arc from the centre of the region (check from fig.2) . Place the screen in the Top view. With the Move tool, move the arc to the centre of the region. Use Extrude command to create fig.3 Given: isolines = 24, path = pick end of the arc

Fig.2

Fig.3

Exercise 24
Instructions: Place the screen in the Left view. Construct fig.1 using 2D tools. Use Revolve command to construct fig.2. Given: isolines = 24, angle of revolution = 360 degrees

Fig.1

Fig.2

Exercise 25
Instructions: Place the screen in the Left view. Construct fig.1 using 2D tools. Use Revolve command to construct fig.2. Given: isolines = 24, angle of revolution = 360 degrees

Fig.2

Exercise 26
Instructions: Place the screen in the Left view. Construct fig.1 using 2D tools. Use Revolve command to construct fig.2. Given: isolines = 24, angle of revolution = 180 degrees

Exercise 27
Instructions: Place the window in the Front view. Create 3 box with height 75 using the Box tool. Use the ff. locations: Given: Box 1 (90, 90) and (110,-30) Box 2 (110,90) and (170,70) Box 2 (110,-10) and (200,-30) From fig.1, create the fig.2 using Union command

Fig.2

Exercise 28
Instructions: Create Sphere using 3D tool. Set ISOLINES to16 Given: Center point = 180,170; Base Radius = 50 Create Cylinder using 3D tool. Given: Center point of base = 180,170; Base Radius = 25; Height = 110 Move the center of cylinder to the center of sphere. From fig.1 use Subtract tool to form fig.2.

Exercise 29
Instructions: Create the drawing below. Create Cylinder using 3D tool. Given: Centre = (170,150); Radius = 60; Height = 15. Create cone using 3D tool Given: Center point of base = (170,150); Base Radius = 40; Height = 150. Create Sphere using 3D tool Given: Centre = (170,150); Radius = 45 Move the cone and sphere so that the cone is resting on the cylinder and the centre of the sphere is at the apex of the cone. Then lastly, use Union command.

Exercise 30
Instructions: Create the drawing below. Create 2 Box using 3D tool. Given: Corners (70,210) and (290,120); Height = 10. Given: Corners (120,200,10) and (240,130,10); Height = 80. Create 2 Wedge using 3D tool Given: Corners (120,170,10) and (80,160,10); Height = 70. Given: Corners (240,170,10) and (280,160,10); Height = 70. Then lastly, use Union command.

Exercise 31
Instructions: Create the drawing below. Create 2 Cylinder using 3D tool. Given: Centre (180,160); Radius = 40; Height = 120. Given: Centre (180,160); Radius = 35; Height = 120. Create 2 Torus using 3D tool Given: Centre (180,160,10); Radius = 40; Tube Radius = 10. Given: Centre (180,160,110); Radius = 40; Tube Radius = 10.

Then use Union command for the 2 torus and large cylinder. Then use Subtract command for the combined fig. and small cylinder.

Exercise 32
Instructions: Create the drawing below. Using the 3D and 2D tools. Refer to the below dimensions.

Exercise 33
