ON HUMAN RESOURCE ACCOUNTING IN

INDIAN COMPANY

INTRODUCTION
Human Resource Accounting emphasizes that human resources should be treated as assets like physical and financial assets. To assist senior management in understanding the long term cost and benefit. Human Resource Accounting is the measurement of the cost and value of the people for the organization.

OBJECTIVES OF STUDY
To examine the practices followed by selected companies in India. To compare and contrast human resource valuation methods followed by selected Companies in India.

RESEARCH METHODLOGY
SAMPLE DESIGN Purposive Sampling technique is used for the selection of sample units ANALYSIS OF DATA

The collected data have suitably classified and tabulated in the form
of table and graph with the appropriate statistical techniques . The data analysis and conclusion were drawn on the basis of parametric tests

at 5% level of significance

RECOMMEDATIONS
It has a great potential in the modern age of professionalization particularly in the case of labor-intensive service industry where

human resource constitutes prime resource HRA information thus would be of immense help in decision making both for internal and external users. Therefore, organizations should adopt HRA system

LIMITATION OF STUDY
The said study is based on secondary data only, collected from

annual

reports

of

companies.

The limitation is of secondary data

influence the study. The study period of said study is limited to five year only i.e.

2008-09

to 2010-11. Only TWO companies viz., INFOSYS and

HPCL have been considered for the study of Human Resource Accounting Practices.
