HISTORY
1945- The Company was Incorporated and converted into Public Limited in1955 at Mumbai. 1958 - The Company entered into an agreement with Birfield Ltd., to form Mahindra Sintered Products Private Limited for the manufacture of a wide range of self lubricating bearings. 1970 - The name was changed from Mahindra Van Wijk&Visser Ltd. to Mahindra& Mahindra Ltd. 1984 - Mahindra Spicer Ltd. (MSL), was amalgamated with Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (MML) with effect from 3rd April. 1993 - The Automotive division undertook to introduce a wide range ofproducts such as mini bus, MM Deluxe, Armada deluxe, Cabkingpick-up,CL-Classic & a single/double Cab pick-up etc.

1994 - During the year a new Company Mahindra USA Inc. had beenestablished in Texas, U.S.A. with the objective of increasing tractor sales in U.S. 2000 - The Company launched its first CNG-powered utility vehicle in Delhi 2009 - Mahindra & Mahindra unveiled its fourth generation Scorpio at anunbeatable price.

Automotive: M&M's automotive division covers a wide range of vehicles including multi utility vehicles , LCVs, and three wheelers. Farm equipment: covers the entire range of activities of tractors and tractor equipment. MERGER/ACQUISITION
1945 Mahindra & Mahindra was set up as a steel trading company. The Company was Incorporated and converted into Public Limited in1955 at Mumbai. 1970 - The name was changed from Mahindra Van Wijk&Visser Ltd. to Mahindra& Mahindra Ltd. 1984 - Mahindra Spicer Ltd. (MSL), was amalgamated with Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (MML) with effect from 3rd April. 2008 -Mahindra & Mahindra acquires renowned Italian design house, GRD Italy. 1993 -Mahindra Nissan Allwyn Ltd. (MNL) was amalgamated with Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (MML) with effect from 1st November. 1995 - The Company entered into a joint venture agreement with Ford Motor Company USA (Ford) for promotion of a new Company. 2004 - M&M enters into agreement for acquiring majority stake in US based Bristlecone Inc. M&M also has controlling stake in REVA Electric Car Company and acquired South Korea'sSsangYong Motor Company in 2011. PGDM-I (A)

RECOMMENDATION & SUGGESTION


There should be proper remuneration should be given to the employees so that they work in efficient manner. Human tends to forget soon so they have to remind timely and accordingly about there product by repositoning. Incentives should also be given to the consumers.
