Back on Track: Trailing 1-0 in the middle innings, the CrackerJacks were able to generate some offense by scoring two runs in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings to knock off the Rockford Foresters yesterday 6-3. Jake OBrien finished the day a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate and Matt Borens improved to 2-0 on the hill. Pat Jameson picked up the save for Will County. The victory came one night after a disappointing 7-5 loss to the Illinois Lincolns. Overall, the CrackerJacks have won three out of four games and sit four games out of first place. End of the Road: The CrackerJacks and Zephyrs play each other three times over the next three days, the final meetings between the two clubs in 2012. Will County leads the season series over Chicago 2-0. Last season, the CrackerJacks and Zephyrs met 11 times during the regular season, with Will County winning nine of those games. The CrackerJacks are 13-2 all-time against Chicago. Sigh of Relief: One aspect of yesterdays win over Rockford that cannot be overlooked is the clean defensive play of the CrackerJacks. Will County did not commit an error in the win, something that has been a rare occurrence for the CrackerJacks in 2012. They have been charged with 36 errors through the first 15 games of 2012 (2.4 per game). Wait, Really?: Its hard to believe, but after tonights game against the Chicago Zephyrs, the CrackerJacks will already have played over one-third of its 2012 regular season. The 2011 and 2012 CrackerJacks have matched each other recordwise through the first 14 games of the two seasons (8-6).
