Sir/ Madam: Our environment has been more vulnerable than ever to natural disasters. Humans are responsible for most of these ecological imbalances. From climate change, to floods, earthquakes, and tsunamis, we can no longer sit passively. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Special Concerns Office-Youth Desk (DENR-SCO-Youth Desk), in cooperation with the KabataangSamaSamangMaglilingkod (KASAMA), Inc., Miriam PEACE (Public Education and Awareness Campaign for the Environment) and the Department of Education-Center for Students and Co-curricular Affairs (DepEd-CSCA), will be conducting a Youth Environment Summer (YES) Camp on May 1-5, 2011 at Teachers Camp and Camp John Hay Trade and Cultural Center, Baguio City, with its theme, Ako ay Handa (Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Preparedness), to underscore the significance of climate change adaptation and disaster preparedness during the onslaught of natural catastrophes. With a registration fee of Four Thousand Six Hundred (Php 4,600.00) each, the hopeful student-participants seek your financial support. Help arm our youths with a more effective understanding of these environmental problems. Thank you and good day!
