For God has all power and authority over everything. Revelation is the key to Gods authority; therefore revelation and authority go hand in hand. In the Bible the prophets and servants of God would receive revelation, which is a word from God. God is his own authority and there is no one with greater authority. This is why when he was making his promise to Abraham he pledged his own name, since there was no one with greater authority. The authority of the Bible is proven by the scriptures. It is the word sent down from God. It is proven in scripture with versus such as This is what the Lord says. When speaking from a biblical standpoint, inspiration is the influence of the Holy Spirit upon those who have been chosen by God, which he instructed them to write the scriptures of the Bible, thus making the versus true and authoritative. The word inspiration is also translated breath. In Job 32:8 it reads But it is the spirit in a man, the breath of the almighty, that gives him understanding. This passage shows that the Holy Spirit shows man what God the almighty wants him to understand. This ensures that what God wants man to know remains true and authoritative. The definition of inerrancy is the assurance that the Bible or the Word of God is true. It doesnt matter if it relates to doctrine or ethics or to the social, physical, or life sciences, the Bible will never be false in all that it affirms. The biblical argument is one of the better ways to prove its inerrancy. One view of the biblical argument is that the Bible teaches its own inspiration, and this requires inerrancy. 2 Timothy 3:16 tells us that the scriptures are the breath of God. This statement guarantees that the Bible is without error. Along with biblical argument, the historical argument is also a very good in proving inerrancy. This argument shows that the view of the church has remained the same throughout history. Augustine from the early church expressed how he firmly believed that the authors were completely free from error. There were also two great reformers, Luther and Calvin, who can bear testimony to the fact that the Bible is without error. The Biblical and the historical argument are definitely the two more important arguments when it comes to proving inerrancy. There are two arguments that are weaker than the biblical and historical argument. One is the epistemological argument. This argument states that not all claims are false but that some might be. Another argument is the slippery slope argument. This argument is the least important and most disliked by those who do not hold to inerrancy. This argument is just a simple denial of inerrancy. Both of these arguments have little to no evidence to back up their questions. This is why there are so many objections and doubts to what is believed in the individual. Inspiration and inerrancy have two different meanings but they go hand in hand. Inspiration is the living God communicating his divine word through other people. In the Old Testament, many of the prophets made sure that they stated that they were spokesman for the living God. On the other hand inerrancy is the arguments that are created to prove that the Bible is true. This proves that what God says is the final word. I believe that I should live by Gods word at all times. I should take the word of God in its entirety. You cant take pieces of the Bible and say that the other parts of the Bible are false. The inspiration and
inerrancy of the Bible are there to prove and continue to prove that the Bible is and will always be the truth.
