Coaching Overview
Oliver Weigelt
(Headcoach)
M. Kotek M. Bornemann
(Defense Assistant) (SP Assistant)
The 1st Goal is to have more 1st Downs that the other team. In order to achieve this you
have to gain 5 yards on each play eather with a pass or a run. After we achieved this we get
us in a better run vs. Pass situation, which keep the defense under pressure.
The 2nd Goal is to always convert all 3rd downs and short (1-3 Yards) into a first down.
The 3rd Goal is to always convert a 4th down and very short (approx. 1 Yard) into a first
down, in Goal situations we have to achieve a TD. We have to have a positive attitude
concerning short yardage situations, if we do this we will control the Line of Scrimmage every
time.
The 4th Goal is to convert a 3rd down and long (10-15 yards) into a first down (or at least
give them a good punting situation and do not lose any more yards). The defense is clearly
with the advantage, every offense player has to have the BIG PLAY in his head.
Our Offense has only one formation, but a lot of plays. All plays are almost equal to
eachother. With a simply number- and namesystem we can get the play to all players very
easily. It allows us to make adjustments to the defense very easily.
Every player only needs to listen to his number and the combination between route or
runplay. This is the most important thing if we talk about easy playcalling.
Have the Play in front of your eyes – We need to have the play infront of our eyes at all time
during the play, every player has to know what the player next to him is doing and what his
reads are. This is how the system works out in the end!
Center calls a huddle 10 Yards away from the Ball (Facing his back to the ball)
Offensive Line adjusts themself according to the center
The Backs & Receiver adjusts themself with their backs to the O-Line
(Hands on the Knees and a low back so the QB can see the QB‘s face)
After the QB gets into the huddle he is the only player to talk
(Chatting between players about asignments can be done before or on the sideline)
Everybody is concentrating on the Playcall and is watching the QB
QB will call the plays 2x times incl. All motions and the snap count
QB will end the huddle with a ready call, all others say break

Wide Linesplits are important for the passingplay, also if you have a quick back he can find the hole
quicker! Also if you have unexperienced Lineman you can make it easier for them to know who to block,
because the D Line is so wide open.
