A survey was taken among 1100 young fundamentalists who are graduates of Christian colleges or seminaries with which the reader is familiar. The results were astounding. Twelve percent believe that the Bible becomes the Word of God only when he reads it by faith. Fifty-eight percent believe in the sovereignty of God according to Calvinistic theology, while eight percent were unsure. Seventy percent were sympathetic to Calvinist or Reformed theology. Thirteen percent believe in annihilation or no literal hell. Forty-eight percent said that the preacher should not preach on loose music standards, while eighty-six percent felt that music was not an issue at all. Thirtynine percent believe that the emerging church philosophy as portrayed by Bill Hybels and Rick Warren is not an issue. Forty-five percent were not convinced fundamentalists. Twenty percent believed in drinking in moderation. Thirty-three percent believe that R-rated movies are permissible for a Christian to view. Thirty-five percent said that they had personal devotions three or fewer times in the week prior to the survey. When these conditions are prevalent in the staff and leadership of churches you have Complacency and Apostasy in the pew. Dr. Sue Ellen Reed Superintendent of Public Instruction

True Faith Is... True faith shows when we are doers of the word. As the last decade of the twentieth century began, congregations of American Christians began to notice the effects of nearly twenty-five years of social revolution in the U.S.: from the sexual revolution of the sixties came ever increasing incidents of infidelity in Christian families (the divorce rate for pastors began to equal the national average!). From the materialism of the seventies came more glitzy approaches to worship and church ministries. And from the emptiness of the eighties came an appetite for a psychological massage rather than expository preaching, which an increasing number of pastors and churches were glad to oblige. Not surprisingly, the nineties began with an overall disappointment in the historical, traditional, and culturally acceptable. The New Age movement developed an increasing number of adherents, especially among the "stars". Now here we are at the end of the first decade of the new millennium and things are looking dire for the church of God, we are living in a Post-Christian era. The man that we have elected is the personification of the distilled hatred of the radical movement of the sixties. Our education system can be best summed up by Benjamin Desraeli : Wherever was found what was called a paternal government, was found a State education. It had been discovered that the best way to insure implicit obedience was to commence tyranny in the nursery. -Speech in House of Commons ( Minister of Education ), June 15, 1874. Revolutionary Virtue " The Founding Fathers believed what today might be deemed a revolutionary idea: that only a virtuous people, grounded in morality and religion, can ever hope to remain free." Becky Akers - The New American March 30, 2009.
In 1900 parents spent an average of 8 hours a day in face-to-face contact with their children, instructing and training them and spending time with them. In 2000, the average parent spent 7 minutes a day in face-to-face contact with their children. Dr. Reed stated that this figure would be much lower if it were not for homeschoolers "pulling up" this already very low average contact time with our children. Dr. Reed stated that there are three factors that cause a decrease in scholastic performance: 1) Absenteeism - she noted that this is not a problem with homeschoolers! 2) Little to no scholastic resources in the home - a commodity plentiful in a homeschool! 3) Excessive TV viewing

In Benjamin Franklin's 1749 plan of education for public schools in Pennsylvania, he insisted that schools teach "the excellency of the Christian religion above all others, ancient or modern." Then in 1787 when Franklin helped found Benjamin Franklin University, it was dedicated as "a nursery of religion and learning, built on Christ, the Cornerstone. On July 12, 1804 at his death, Alexander Hamilton said, I have a tender reliance on the mercy of the Almighty, through the merits of the Lord Jesus Christ. I am a sinner. I look to Him for mercy; pray for me.
"Lord our Heavenly Father, High and Mighty King of kings, and Lord of lords, who dost from thy throne behold all the dwellers on earth and reignest with power supreme and uncontrolled over all the Kingdoms, Empires and Governments; look down in mercy, we beseech thee, on these our American States, who have fled to thee from the rod of the oppressor and thrown themselves on Thy gracious protection, desiring to be henceforth dependent on Thee, to Thee have they appealed for the righteousness of their cause; to Thee do they now look up for that countenance and support, which Thou alone canst give; take them, therefore, Heavenly Father, under Thy nurturing care; give them wisdom in Council and valor in the field; defeat the malicious designs of our cruel adversaries; convince them of the unrighteousness of their Cause and if they persist in their sanguinary purposes, of own unerring justice, sounding in their hearts, constrain them to drop the weapons of war from their unnerved hands in the day of battle! Be Thou present, O God of wisdom, and direct the councils of this honorable assembly; enable them to settle things on the best and surest foundation. That the scene of blood may be speedily closed; that order, harmony and peace may be effectually restored, and truth and justice, religion and piety, prevail and flourish amongst Thy people. Preserve the health of their bodies and vigor of their minds; shower down on them and the millions they here represent, such temporal blessings as Thou seest expedient for them in this world and crown them with everlasting glory in the world to come. all this we ask In the Name and through the merits of Jesus Christ, Thy Son and our Savior.

FaFmine In Amos 8:11, the prophet Amos warns the nation of Israel, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: Amos is telling the nation about the coming captivity when the people would long for the words of the Lord which they had ignored in their prosperity. Famine is coming to America. We have disregarded both the Bibles admonitions against rejecting Gods Word and our forefathers warnings of a government without Godly influence. I see four stages of destruction that come to a people or nation which turns it back on Gods Word. First, they have the Gospel. Secondly, they become used to the Gospel. Thirdly, they became indifferent to the Gospel; and finally, God takes away the Gospel from them. I am not sure to which of the two middle stages America has declined. We may be at stage three. If we are indeed in stage three, could it be that the next generation will experience the time when God takes away the Gospel from our land? Gods admonition to Ephesus was, repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. (Rev. 2:5) The Preacher
A Paradox?
We Recognize No Sovereign but God, and no King but Jesus! [April 18, 1775] "Without Religion this World would be Something not fit to be mentioned in polite Company, I mean Hell." [John Adams to Thomas Jefferson, April 19, 1817] |

Hosea 4:9 reads, And there shall be, like people, like priest: and I will punish them for their ways, and reward them their doings. The greatest paradox in the Bible has to be Matthew 24:12: And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. It would seem that when iniquity is abounding, the love of many would wax hot, not cold. Has there ever been a day when alarm was at a greater height.? Everywhere Christians are expressing concern that the foundations of our country are being destroyed every day of our lives. The paradox is that most Christians will say that they have never seen a day when consecration to God and dedication to the things of Christ were at a lower depth. Get Right and Get Ready!
