Question 2; Computers can be categorized based on their size, processing power, and intended use.
Here are the main types of computers:

1. Personal Computers (PCs)

-These are the most common type of computers used by individuals for everyday tasks like browsing the
internet, word processing, gaming, and multimedia. Personal computers can be further classified into:
Desktops,Laptops and Tablets:

All-in-One PCs: These integrate the CPU, monitor, and other components into a single unit, offering a
compact design.

2. Mainframe Computers

-Mainframes are large, powerful systems designed to handle and process vast amounts of data
simultaneously. They are used primarily by large organizations, such as banks, government agencies, and
research institutions, for tasks like managing databases, running large-scale applications, and supporting
thousands of users at once. Mainframes are known for their reliability, scalability, and ability to run
critical applications.

3. Supercomputers

-Supercomputers are the fastest and most powerful computers, used for tasks that require immense
processing power, such as complex scientific simulations, weather forecasting, cryptography, and
molecular modeling. They consist of thousands of processors working in parallel to solve problems at
high speed. Supercomputers are often found in research institutions, government agencies, and large
corporations.
4. Minicomputers (Mid-range Computers)

-Minicomputers are smaller than mainframes but still powerful enough to support multiple users or
handle moderate-scale business applications. They are often used by small to medium-sized businesses
for tasks such as inventory management, accounting, and processing data for up to a few hundred users.

5. Workstations

- Workstations are high-performance computers designed for professional and technical applications
requiring significant processing power. These are used in fields like engineering, 3D design, animation,
scientific research, and software development. Workstations are typically equipped with advanced
graphics cards, high-end processors, and large amounts of memory.

6. Embedded Systems

Embedded systems are specialized computers designed to perform specific tasks within larger devices.
They are not general-purpose computers and are often integrated into products like cars, smartphones,
home appliances, medical equipment, and industrial machines. Examples include the control system in a
microwave oven or the navigation system in a car.

7. Servers

Servers are computers designed to provide services to other computers or clients in a network. They
manage network resources, store data, and enable communication between devices. Servers can host
websites, manage databases, or facilitate email communication. They come in various sizes, from small
servers for small businesses to large-scale servers used by data centers.
Therefore.,

.Each type of computer is designed with specific applications and use cases in mind, from personal use
to large-scale data processing and scientific research.
