Feeling
Oh, absolutely, tea and coffee are like daily essentials in Vietnam. Coffee, in
particular, is a big deal. We've got our own unique style, like the famous
Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk, and you'll find coffee shops on
practically every corner. It's a social thing too; people often gather at cafes
to catch up or just chill.
Example: Graduating from college was a big deal for her. (Tốt nghiệp đại học
là một chuyện quan trọng đối với cô ấy)
Oh, for sure, sharing a cup of tea or coffee with friends is a regular thing
here. It's like a cozy ritual. We might meet up at a café or just hang out at
someone's place. It's a chance for us to catch up, chat about life, and enjoy
some good company.
Well, it depends on the time of day and my mood, really. In the morning, I'm
all about that coffee life. It's like a shot of energy to kickstart the day, you
know? There's something about that rich, aromatic flavor that gets me
going. But when it comes to winding down or just having a cozy moment, tea
is my jam. It's like a warm, comforting hug in a cup, you know.
A shot of energy: một lượng năng lượng
Example: After a long day at work, a quick workout can give you a much-
needed shot of energy. (Sau một ngày làm việc dài, một buổi tập thể dục
nhanh có thể mang lại một lượng năng lượng cần thiết.)
Example: Having a nutritious breakfast can help kickstart your day and
improve your productivity. (Ăn một bữa sáng dinh dưỡng có thể giúp bạn
khởi đầu ngày mới và nâng cao năng suất làm việc.)
Oh, I had a cup of coffee this morning to kickstart my day. It's become a bit
of a morning ritual for me, you know, that first sip of caffeine to wake up. As
for tea, it was just a couple of days ago. I brewed a nice herbal tea in the
evening to unwind and relax. It's like a little soothing moment before bed.
Example: That first sip of hot chocolate on a cold winter morning is pure
bliss. (Ngụm đầu tiên của ly sô cô la nóng vào một buổi sáng mùa đông lạnh
là một niềm hạnh phúc thuần túy.)
Example: After a long day at work, I like to unwind by taking a leisurely walk
in the park. (Sau một ngày làm việc dài, tôi thích thư giãn bằng cách đi dạo
thong thả trong công viên.)
Yeah, I'd say I'm a pretty regular café-goer when it comes to tea and coffee.
It's convenient and sometimes a nice change of pace from making it at
home. Plus, cafes often have a variety of flavors and brews to choose from,
which makes it a bit of an adventure.
Regular café-goer: người thường xuyên đến quán café
Example: As a regular café-goer, she knows all the best coffee shops in the
city. (Là người thường xuyên đến quán café, cô ấy biết tất cả các quán cà
phê tốt nhất trong thành phố.)
Example: Taking a short vacation can provide a change of pace and help you
relax. (Một kỳ nghỉ ngắn có thể mang lại một chút thay đổi nhịp độ cuộc
sống và giúp bạn thư giãn.)

I think dreams might affect how we feel after waking up. If we have a really
bad dream, dreaming about the death of a loved one, for example, may
make us worried all day. Dreams might even affect our behaviour. For
example, some people even change their travel plans after dreaming of a
plane crash.

my cultural cultural custom sun hat
f you ever find yourself in Vietnam, you’re bound to see a sea of vibrant conical hats adorning
the heads of locals. These aren’t just your average sun hats, though. The Non la, as they’re
called, are a quintessential symbol of Vietnamese culture, steeped in tradition and practicality.
Made from pliable palm leaves and meticulously woven by hand, the Non la boasts a
distinctive conical shape. The intricate weaving patterns often vary by region, adding a touch
of local flair. Beyond aesthetics, the Non la serves a multifunctional purpose. It provides much-
needed shade from the scorching Vietnamese sun, while the breathable material keeps you
cool. During sudden downpours, the Non la acts as a makeshift umbrella, shielding you from
the rain.
More than just a functional object, the Non la embodies the spirit of Vietnamese resilience. The
meticulous craftsmanship reflects a dedication to detail and a respect for age-old traditions.
Seeing these hats worn by farmers tending their fields or street vendors selling their wares is a
heartwarming reminder of the country’s rich cultural heritage. So, next time you see a Non la,
take a moment to appreciate this unassuming yet emblematic piece of Vietnamese tradition.

Vietnam boasts a rich tapestry of cultural treasures, but if I have to pick one that truly captures
the essence of Vietnamese elegance, it will be the Ao Dai. This long, flowing dress with its slit
panels isn’t just stunning to look at, it’s also surprisingly versatile.
The Ao Dai’s origins can be traced back centuries, evolving from everyday wear for royalty to a
national symbol. Today, it’s worn for a variety of occasions, from formal ceremonies to school
uniforms. The silhouette is flattering on most body types, and the vibrant colors and intricate
embroidery can be as show-stopping or subtle as you like. It’s a garment that allows women to
express their individuality while still celebrating their cultural heritage.
Beyond aesthetics, the Ao Dai represents a sense of national pride. Seeing a sea of áo dài at a
festival or celebration is a truly remarkable sight, a reminder of the country’s rich history and
enduring traditions. The Ao Dai is more than just a piece of clothing; it’s a tangible link to the
past and a symbol of a vibrant culture that continues to thrive in the modern world.

Today, I'd like to talk about a place where I thought things were way too
expensive. It's a high-end shopping mall located right in the heart of Ho Chi
Minh City.
So, this place is smack dab in the middle of the city, surrounded by all
sorts of luxury stores and fancy boutiques. It's the kind of place you go
if you're looking for designer clothes, expensive jewelry, and high-end
electronics.
I went there just last weekend because I was on the hunt for a special
birthday gift for a close friend. I thought it would be nice to get something
unique and of high quality, so I decided to check out this posh mall that
everyone seems to rave about.
But, man, as soon as I walked in, I realized everything was way out of my
budget. Seriously, the prices were through the roof! Every store I went into
had items that were shockingly expensive. Even the smallest things, like a
simple keychain or a handkerchief, were priced way higher than what I would
consider reasonable. I mean, I get that it's all high-end brands, but still, it
was a bit ridiculous.
Honestly, I felt a bit out of place there. The mall itself was stunning, no
doubt about it. It was beautifully designed, very clean, and the staff were
super polite and attentive. But the prices just made me feel uncomfortable.
It's clear that the mall caters to a very wealthy clientele, and I felt like I
didn't belong there. It was a bit disheartening because I had hoped to find
something special without breaking the bank.
All in all, while the mall was visually impressive and definitely had a luxurious
vibe, I couldn't help but feel that it was just too pricey for the average
person. It's a great place if you have money to burn, but for someone like
me, it was just a bit too much. I'll probably stick to more affordable places
next time I'm shopping for a gift."
Admittedly, at the beginning I wasn’t into science fiction. That said, back in
the 2000s movies such as Star Wars or Star Trek were all the rage, so
somehow I jumped on the bandwagon. Never had I realized
that interstellar wars could be so gripping.
Well there are a variety of constellations out there, but what springs to mind
is Sagittarius, which is also my zodiac sign. It is shaped like an archer, hence
the name, which means “archer” in Latin. I have never seen it in real life
though, since an observatory is nowhere to be found in Vietnam.

News
Well, how could they not?! News about celebrities, especially their personal
lives, often attracts public attention and goes viral, so journalists write news
about them. This isn’t really that different from political or world news - all
companies are motivated to bring in revenue by getting more clicks. And
stories centered around major figures around the world are sure to deliver
traffic.
I suppose that not all information in the news is accurate. In fact, while news
from official or reliable sources like governmental information websites or
well-regarded newspapers is trustworthy, other news organizations really
shouldn’t be trusted. For example, during the Covid-19 pandemic, there was
a lot of fake news and conspiracy theories about the mortality rate in my
country that caused public confusion.
It's refreshing to hear stories from everyday life that I can relate to or learn
from. Whether it's a story of someone overcoming adversity, a feel-good
piece about community support, or innovative ideas from regular people,
these stories add a personal touch to the news and remind us of the shared
human experience.”
Mostly political news, but I also take an interest in crime news or scientific
news. The only type of news that I'm not fond of is entertainment. I find it to
be a waste of my time.
I usually read online newspapers to keep myself updated. There are several
sites on the Internet which offer lots of free content to read and they get
updated really frequently. That's why I much prefer online news to physical
newspapers.
Well not anymore. I find it a hassle to have to go to the local stores to pick up
my newspapers everyday. Not to mention that newspapers are usually late
when it comes to news reports as they still have to go through steps such as
printing and distributing.

Crowded place
• Is the city where you live crowded?
Absolutely, I’m in Hanoi at the moment, which is the capital of Vietnam and
one of the most crowded cities in my country. It's a bustling metropolis so it
attracts a large population that come here to work and study. The streets are
more or less all the time filled with people going about their daily business.
• What kind of places are crowded where you’re living now?
In Hanoi, it’s the typical spots you’d imagine - public transportation hubs and
intersections between main roads are always crowded during rush hour. Also,
popular tourist attractions and entertainment venues often draw large
crowds on special occasions like the weekends or holidays. All the lakes
around the city, naturally.
• Do you like crowded places?
Not especially. I’m kind of an introvert so I don’t really feel at ease hanging
around in crowded places like shopping malls or wet markets. They’re just
overwhelming for me. Instead, I prefer going to places with quieter and more
serene environments such as coffee shops or libraries.
• When was the last time you were in a crowded place?
Just a few days ago if I recall correctly - when I went to the Old Quarter to
celebrate New Year’s Eve with my friends. And as you can imagine, the
streets that day were packed with locals and tourists alike - it was chaotic
but fun.
• Do you prefer to go to crowded places or places that have few
people?
As I mentioned earlier, I’m not really a fan of crowded places. However, there
are certain occasions when I enjoy a vibrant atmosphere like during a live
event - a concert, for example. But most of the time, I appreciate the
tranquility of places with fewer people so I don’t feel ill at ease and I can get
some work done or hang out with my friends and have a real conversation.
• Why do people like to go to crowded places?
In my opinion, people are drawn to crowded locations depending on what’s
going on. If it’s a cinema, then they’re there for the movie, if it’s a market,
they’re there to shop. Sometimes the crowd itself can be part of the
attraction like on New Year’s Eve.
