Like the card game “LineUp 7”, players place one card from their hand that’s
numerically adjacent to a n open card on the table.
The major difference from “LineUp 7” is that it’s not the first player to get rid
of all his cards who wins, but the player who gets most points from the rows
of cards.
In each row of cards, the player whose cards have the highest total value wins
the cards in that row.
Looking at the cards already played, you can work out which cards your
opponent has left.
When all players have played their cards and the rows have been scored, the
winner is the player who has won the most cards.
(Illustration)
1. The yellow 5 is the highest card in the row, so Yellow player takes all five cards.
2. Green cards total 12, red cards total 14, so Red player takes the four cards.
3. Yellow and Red cards total 6 points each, so Yellow and Red players get two cards
each out of four.
Use the happy Dog coins to mark the top of the rows.
Each player chooses a colour set of 18 cards. The players pass their cards to the
player on the right to shuffle. Then the cards are placed face down in a draw pile in
front of the player. The top five cards are taken to form the hand.
Decide the first player. Play goes clockwise.
Leave a space for a discard pile.
Play:: Placing the number cards and the happy Dog cards.
1. The cards are lined up under each Happy Dog coin marker. Any number card
can start a row. When you place a card from your hand, replace it with the top
card from the draw pile.
2. ex. Blue plays 4 to start a row. Red can only play 3 or 5, i.e. one above or below
the last card in the row. (However, in this game, 1 and 9 are counted as
consecutive numbers.) If a player can’t place a consecutively numbered card, or
just wishes to, he starts a new row.
3. The Happy Dog card is like a joker and can be placed on any row but can’t be
used to start a row.
4. Any card can be placed on a Happy Dog card.
If you can’t or don’t want to play a card on a row, you discard one card and take one
from your draw pile.
Set up:: Lay the 1 – 7 cards of an unused colour set on the table in numerical order.
Place a Happy Dog coin at the top of each start card.
The players’ sets are shuffled and two cards from each set are placed face down on
the table (this is so opposing players won’t know which cards the other player still
has).
The players’ remaining cards are placed face down as draw piles and they each take
the top five cards from their own piles to form a hand.
Play::
The cards are played as in the Stream Game, with the cards played being adjacent
numbers of the row in which it is played.
Discarded cards are placed face up so the players can see them.
Picture cards are played the same way as in the Stream game, with three differences.
1. The Happy Dog card can not be the first card placed in a row.
2. The Phoenix card can not be used to take out a Happy Dog card from a row.
3. If a picture card is the last remaining card in a player’s hand, it must be
discarded. It can not be placed in a row.
Game End::
The Position Game is won by the player who collects most Happy Dog coins by
winning the most rows. Scores are calculated as in the Stream game. If the players’
scores are the same, the player who has the most Happy Dog cards in the row wins. If
the Happy Dog card number is the same, it’s a tie.
The pairs of cards that were placed face down at the start of the game can be
revealed.
