A. Nem rán (or chả giò) is indeed a beloved Vietnamese dish with deep cultural roots. In Ha Noi, the introduction of nem rán
dates back to a time when chả cá did not exist. Although it ranks among Vietnam’s speciality dishes, nem rán is very easy to
prepare. It has long been a preferred food on special occasions such as Tet and other family festivities. Ingredients used for
nem rán comprise lean minced pork, sea crabs or shelled shrimp, mushrooms, dried onions, duck eggs, pepper, salt, and
different kinds of seasoning. All are mixed thoroughly before being wrapped with rice paper into small rolls. These rolls are
then fried in boiling oil.
B. Water puppetry is a special traditional Vietnamese art form, and it began in the 11th century. It originated in the villages of
the Red River Delta of North Viet Nam. A water puppet show is performed in a pool. The puppets are supported by strings
under the water and controlled by the puppeteers behind a screen, so they appear to be moving on the water. The puppets are
made of wood and then painted. The themes of the puppet show are rural: the performances show everyday life in the
countryside and folk tales. There are stories about rice farming, fishing, and Vietnamese village festivals. This show is so
fantastic and interesting. Children love the performance, and tourists visiting Viet Nam greatly enjoy this art.
C. People drink a lot of tea. There are many kinds of tea. There is black tea. There is red tea. There is yellow tea.
People drink a lot of tea in China. Some people drink it because it is good for them. It makes them healthy. Many
people drink it because it tastes very good. It is delicious. People drink a lot of green tea in Japan and in Korea,
too. In Viet Nam, some people, especially old people, like green tea. They buy green tea leaves in the market,
wash them in the water, and then boil them with water. People drink it when it is cold or even hot.
D. There are many kinds of musical instruments and people listen to music all over the world. They have fun with
music at parties, clubs, weddings and restaurants as well. People like music because it helps them forget sadness
and makes them feel more love in life. After a hard - working day, people come back home and feel so tired.
Music can help them close their eyes and relax themselves. Sometimes it is difficult to understand music, but
people still enjoy it.
