Guidelines for Summer

Internship
(Applicable for Academic
Session 2023-24 only)

1. Applicability
I. These guidelines shall be applicable for 4-6 week duration internships wherever a
summer internship/Industrial training is defined in the details of the programme.
II. The main objective of these guidelines is to facilitate a mechanism for
streamlining the process for undergoing summer internship in external
organizations.

III. Students undergoing summer internships in external organizations shall be issued a


maximum of 3 internship letters by the concerned internship coordinator as per
approved training/internship letter format.
IV. The student can either undergo Paid or Unpaid Internship with External Organization
for which approval is must from the School. Apart from this, all in-house internships
and the resource persons invited for in-house internships would require explicit approvals
taken by School from Higher Authorities through DAA.
V. Students are expected to proceed on summer internships in the beginning of first
week of June wherein the last dates for the end of the summer internships would
be no later than 20th July.
VI. For summer internship with an External organization, the students would require to
spend a minimum of 4-6 Hours per day and 5 days in a week.
VII. All students who will be undergoing summer internship during June-July 2022 need
to identify the different job profiles and the relevant skills required to achieve the
respective job profile in the industry where they will be undergoing the internship.
These identified skills will be prepared as a document and is to be mandatorily added
in the final internship report to be prepared by the student (Format for the same will
be shared before Final ETP Evaluation).
VIII. All students shall be required to obtain an internship certificate from the internship
organization within 2 weeks from the end of summer internship.
IX. After the end of internship, the End Term Practical (ETP) Viva shall be conducted
where students would need to produce the internship report and bring original
internship certificate to be evaluated during ETPViva.
X. R Grade shall be awarded to a student in case where he/she did not bring
internship report or internship certificate, or if the student was absent in ETP
Viva, or could not clear passing condition for ETP Viva. Any student having F
Grade would be required to repeat summer internship and appear in ETP Viva as a
backlog.
