7. All questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice in 2 questions of 2 marks,
2 questions of 3 marks and 2 questions of 5 marks has been provided. An internal choice has
been provided in 2 marks questions of Section E.

22. In the given figure, a circle is inscribed in a quadrilateral ABCD in which ∠B = 90°. If AD = 2
23cm, AB = 29cm and DS = 5cm, then find the radius (r) of the circle.

23. In the given figure, D and E are two points lying on side AB such that AD = BE. If DP is 2
parallel to BC and EQ is parallel to AC, prove that PQ is parallel to AB.

25. A chord of a circle of radius 10cm subtends a right angle at the centre. Find the area of 2
corresponding minor segment. (use π = 3.14)

OR

The minute hand of a clock is 10cm long. Find the area of the face of the clock swept by it
from 9 am to 9:30 am.

This section consists of 6 questions of 03 marks each.

26. Two tangents TP and TQ are drawn to a circle with centre O from an external point T. Prove 3
that ∠PTQ = 2∠OPQ.

In the given figure, XY and X’Y’ are two parallel tangents to a circle with centre O and
another tangent AB with point of contact C intersecting XY at A and X’Y’ at B. Prove that
∠AOB = 90°

27. Find the largest positive integer that will divide 398, 436 and 542 leaving remainder 7, 11 and 3
15 respectively.

28. If the zeroes of the quadratic polynomial ay2 + by + c are in the ratio 4 : 5, then prove that 3
20b2 = 81ac.

29. Prove that cos2θ + sin3θ = 1 + sinθcosθ 3

30. The students of a class are made to stand in rows. If 3 students are extra in a row, there would 3
be 1 row less. If 3 students are less in a row, there would be 2 rows more. Find the number of
students in the class.
OR

The sum of a two-digit number and the number formed by interchanging its digits is 110. If 10
is subtracted from the original number, it becomes four more than five times the sum of its
digits. Find the original number.

31. A bag contains 15 balls, of which x are blue and the remaining are red. If the number of red 3
balls is increased by 5, the probability of drawing the red ball doubles. Find the original
number of red balls and blue balls in the bag.

SECTION – D
This section consists of 4 questions of 05 marks each.

32. An AP consists of 37 terms. The sum of the three middle most terms is 225 and the sum of last 5
three terms is 429. Find the AP and sum of its first 20 terms.

OR

(a) The ratio of 11th term to 18th term of an AP is 2:3. Find the ratio of its 5th term to 21st term.
(b) Jaspal Singh repays his total loan of ₹1,18,000 by paying every month starting with the
first installment of ₹1000. If he increases the installment by₹ 100 every month, what amount
will be paid by him in the 30th installment? What amount of loan will be left to be paid after 30
installments?

33. An aircraft is flying at a constant height with a speed of 360km/h. From a point on the ground, 5
the angle of elevation of the aircraft at an instant was observed to be 45°. After 20 seconds, the
angle of elevation changed to 30°. Find the height at which aircraft is flying. (√3 = 1.732)

OR

A vertical tower stands on a horizontal plane and is surmounted by a vertical flagstaff of


height h. From a point on the plane, the angles of elevation of the bottom and the top of the
flagstaff are α and β respectively. Prove that the height of the tower is

36. John and Jayant are very close friends. They decided to go to Ranikhet with their families in
their cars. John’s car travels at a uniform speed of x km/h while Jayant’s car travels 5 km/h faster
than John’s car. John took 4 hours more than Jayant to cover 400 km at a uniform speed.

On the basis of given information, answer the following questions:


(i) Find the distance travelled by Jayant’s car in 2 hours (in terms of x). 1
(ii) Frame a quadratic equation to find the speed of John’s car. 1
(iii) Find the speed of Jayant’s car. 2
OR
(iii) Find the time taken by John to cover 400 km.

37. A pen stand made of wood is in the shape of a cuboid with four conical depressions to hold
pens and a cubical depression to hold pins. The dimensions of cuboid are 10cm, 5cm and 4cm.
The radius of each conical depression is 0.5cm and the depth is 1.2cm. The edge of cubical
depression is 3cm.

On the basis of given information, answer the following questions:


(i) Find the volume of wood without any depressions in it. 1
(ii) Find the volume of wood taken out from a conical depression. 1
(iii) Find the volume of wood in the entire stand with four conical depressions and a cubical 2
depression.

(iii) Find the total surface area of four conical depressions and a cubical depression in stand.

38. Controlling Air Pollution


The Chief Minister of Delhi launched, ‘Switch Delhi’, an electric vehicle mass awareness
campaign in the National Capital. The government has also issued tenders for setting up 100
charging stations across the city. Each station will have five charging points. A layout of the
plan was made on the cartesian plane where the charging points were set up along a straight line

10 units.

On the basis of given information, answer the following questions:


(i) Find the distance between charging points D and E.
