Magic System
What they call magic in the world of Astraelara is the ability to manipulate the
astral energy around us in order to produce supernatural phenomena and change reality
around us. Not everyone is able to become a magic user, only those born with “The Gift”
are able to become magic users. Some species are more likely to be born with the gift
than others.
The use of magic takes physical resistance, taking a physical strain on its users. A
magic user who is physically tired will be unable to cast powerful spells, in turn. As such
magic users train their stamina for years to be able to be more reliable while on duty.
The Gifted
Those born with the gift but without studies of magic are referred to as “gifted.”
Gifted may manifest their magic ability at random moments in their lives, being unable
to control how it manifests due to their lack of studies.
Novices
When a “gifted” starts their magical training they are referred to as “magic
novices.” Able to now control their magic they stop manifesting magic in an
uncontrolled manner.
Magical Classes
After some time of their start of their learning, magic novices choose a magic path
to specialize in, each path is categorized by the main application of their magic. These
paths are referred to as “Magic Classes” an are the following:
Sorcerers
Sorcerers are general practitioners, their main focus is in utility magic. They take
different roles in society, often holding government jobs and consulting jobs.
Most magic users are Sorcerers.

Clerics
Clerics focus on healing magic, they form an important part in society. They are
the second most popular class. Cleric training takes the longest out of most magic
classes.
Wizards
Wizards focus on elemental magic, and big scale damaging magic, they are
trained for combat and often act as range combatants. Their magic requires a big
amount of knowledge to be used correctly, which means that wizard training
takes a long time.
Warlocks
Warlocks are the main combat magic class, they train to be good in both close
and mid range combat and are generally more resistant than the rest of magic
classes.
Runic Inscription is the process of inscribing runes into objects, granting them magical
qualities. Each rune represents a spell or part of a spell, magic users inscribe them into
different orders and combinations to produce different triggering effects on an item.
Rune inscripted items are divided in two categories, Enchantments and Triggers.
Enchanted Items
Enchanted Items are given passive magic traits which act passively meaning the
effect triggers automatically. Enchanted items cast magic by taking away from an item’s
durability, this is manifested in magical rust, a special type of rust that affects magic
enchanted items. After an item is completely run over the item, it destroys itself. How
much an item will last depends on the object used.
Trigger Items
Trigger items require the use of a trigger word or trigger action to activate their
effect. Trigger items also take the user's physical resistance to use.

The Veil
In certain regions, the boundary between the physical world and the Astral realm
is thinner. These areas are filled with unpredictable magic and fantastical phenomena,
attracting both wonder and danger.
Astral Storms
Occasionally, powerful astral storms sweep through the land, intensifying
magical energies and causing spontaneous magical events. They are both feared and
revered, as they can bring prosperity or devastation.
A Magical Society
Magic, being a big part of this world, plays a huge role in society.
Sorcerer Council
A council of the most skilled and wise sorcerers who govern the use of magic in
the realm. They maintain balance and resolve disputes among magical users. They also
protect the secrets of astral energy and its connection to the Astral realm.

Magical Creatures
Dragons
Ancient and powerful creatures that have a natural affinity for astral energy. They
are guardians of rare astral energy wells and have their own unique spells that they can
cast. Some dragons can even shapeshift into human form.
Elementals
Beings that embody the elements (earth, water, air, fire) and wield immense
control over their respective element. They are closely tied to the natural world and can
manipulate the environment to their advantage.
Familiars
Magical creatures that form a strong bond with magically gifted individuals. They
enhance the caster's abilities and provide companionship and guidance.

Humans
The most abundant species, humans, have diverse cultures and societies across
the world. Though they have a lower likelihood of being born with magic, they
compensate through their ingenuity and adaptability. Many human kingdoms are
known for their skilled knights, mercenary guilds, and renowned scholars. Humans have
also mastered rune magic, forging enchanted weapons and protective gear. They often
coexist and trade with other intelligent species, forming alliances and learning from
each other's strengths.
Humans in Astraelara come in various races and appearances, reflecting the
diversity of their cultures and backgrounds. Their heights range from around 1.5 to 2
meters tall. Humans have a wide spectrum of eye colors and hair textures, from flowing
locks to tight curls. Their skin tones vary from pale to deep brown, depending on their
geographic origin.
Luminar
Luminescent beings of living light that dwell in the depths of ancient caves and
underground cities. They have the ability to emit a soft, radiant glow, which they use for
communication and illuminating their surroundings. Luminar are scholars and
historians, preserving the world's ancient knowledge.
Luminars are striking beings, towering at an impressive 2 to 2.5 meters in height.
Their slender and graceful frames are accentuated by long limbs and elegant
movements. Luminars possess a natural radiance that comes from the intricate patterns
of bioluminescent marks on their skin. These glowing patterns extend beyond their
faces, creating an ethereal aura that seems to follow them as they move. Their most
distinct feature is their big, luminous eyes that glow softly with different colors,
signifying their emotions and intentions. Pointed ears, adorned with small glowing
jewels, complete their mesmerizing appearance.
Aviarians
Avian beings with humanoid features. They possess feathered wings, allowing
them to soar through the skies. Aviarians are deeply attuned to the winds and astral

currents, making them adept navigators and skilled weather manipulators. They reside
in vast, intricate tree cities nestled high above the ground.
Aviarians are beings with humanoid features and majestic feathered wings,
enabling them to soar through the skies with ease. They have an average height of
around 1.8 to 2 meters. Their wings come in various colors and patterns, reflecting the
individual's personality and lineage. Aviarians have sharp, keen eyesight, capable of
spotting even the tiniest details from great heights. Their feathers are highly prized for
their beauty and magical properties, often used in the creation of enchanted artifacts.
Aviarians have talon-like fingers and toes, which aid in their aerial maneuvers and
provide a firm grip on various surfaces. Their plumage might change colors slightly
depending on their emotions, serving as a visual display of their feelings.
Selvarians
Forest-dwelling humanoid creatures with plant-like features. They have the
power to commune with nature, enabling them to communicate with plants and
animals. Selvarians are guardians of the sacred groves and ancient forests, protecting
the natural balance of the world.
Selvarians are petite beings, rarely exceeding 1.4 meters in height. They have a
compact and nimble build, making them swift and agile through the dense forests they
call home. Selvarians' appearance is akin to a seamless blend of humanoid and
plant-like characteristics. Their skin might have a slight green or brown hue, and
delicate vines might entwine their limbs, subtly glowing with natural energy.
Marimari
Amphibious beings who reside in underwater cities beneath the oceans and lakes.
They are skilled swimmers and capable of manipulating water currents to a limited
extent. Marinari possess intricate seashell armor and crafts made from rare underwater
materials.
Marinari are amphibious beings with lithe and sleek physiques, gracefully
moving through the water with their elongated tails. They have a humanoid upper body
with slightly webbed fingers and toes. Their skin shimmers with a subtle iridescence,
displaying a range of oceanic hues, from vibrant blues to soft greens. Marinari have
large, expressive eyes with a slight luminescence that aids in underwater vision. They
possess gills hidden behind their ears, allowing them to breathe both in water and on
land.

Mechanoids
Living constructs created by ancient magitech. Mechanoids have mechanical
bodies powered by astral energy, granting them extraordinary strength and resilience.
They are expert artisans and engineers, crafting intricate clockwork devices and magical
gadgets.
Mechanoids have a humanoid shape but possess a unique characteristic that sets
them apart. When in a state of rest, they transform into perfectly symmetrical metal
cubes, each side around 50 centimeters long. These cubes are adorned with intricate and
glowing symbols representing their identity and individuality. When active, they take on
a humanoid form, appearing as statuesque figures crafted from shining metal and gears.

History
"Astraelara." It's derived from "Astral," representing the magical energies that
flow through the realm, and "Elara," an ancient word for "world" or "land."
Important Events
The Creation
According to ancient legends, Astraelara was brought into existence by a group of
six powerful deities known as "The First." Each deity bestowed the gift of life upon one
of the intelligent species, shaping their unique traits and abilities. Aviarians, Luminar,
Selvarians, Marinari, Humans, and the previously hidden Mechanoids were all created
by the benevolent hands of The First.

Era of Enlightenment
In the centuries that followed, Astraelara experienced an era of enlightenment
and magical renaissance. The people delved deeper into understanding the astral energy
and its connection to the Astral realm. This era saw the establishment of magical
academies, the preservation of ancient knowledge, and the emergence of powerful
sorcerers and scholars.
Present Day
Currently, the year is 658 A.W. (After War), and Astraelara stands as a diverse
and interconnected world. Though tensions sometimes arise, the memory of the War of
Shattered Stars serves as a reminder of the consequences of unchecked ambition. The
Mechanoids, having revealed their existence, now play an essential role in the world's
development, contributing their technological expertise alongside the magical
knowledge of other people.

inhabited by the various people. While the people of Astraelara are not divided by
species, they coexist in different regions and often form alliances based on shared
interests and cultures. Here are some of the prominent political powers and countries:
Astraelara Alliance
Located in the central region of the world, the Astraelara Alliance is a union of
nations comprising humans, Aviarians, and Luminar. They have established a thriving
trade network and a strong focus on magical research and education. The capital city,
Astraen, is renowned for its grand magical libraries and advanced magical academies.
Verdura Forest
In the eastern part of Astraelara lies the Verdura Forests, a massive expanse of
lush and mystical woodlands. The Selvarians call this place home, forming a
harmonious society that values nature and spiritual connection. They are skilled
herbalists and guardians of the ancient forests.
Nautican Enclaves
In the vast seas and oceans of Astraelara, the Marinari have established
underwater cities known as Nautican Enclaves. These hidden metropolises are ruled by
a council of elders and serve as hubs for maritime trade and exploration.
Skyreach Peaks
High up in the mountains and floating islands, the Aviarians have built their
Skyreach Peaks civilization. Their cities are accessible only by flight, making them
well-protected and difficult to conquer. They are skilled sky knights and celestial
navigators.
Mechanocracy
The Mechanoids have established a centralized city known as Mechanocracy,
located in the heart of a barren desert. They have combined magic and technology to
create a marvel of engineering and innovation. The city's towering clockwork structures
are a testament to their mastery of magitech.

Scattered across Astraelara are ancient ruins from before the War of Shattered

The Nexus

serves as a meeting ground for representatives from all political powers, fostering
diplomacy and negotiations to maintain a delicate balance of power in the world.
