2. INTRODUCTION :
Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), Tirupati, established in the year 1993, under
the aegis of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, as a modern super speciality hospital was granted the status of a
University in the year 1995 by an Act of A.P. State Legislature vide Act No. 12 of 1995. Later, the act was
amended in 2021 making TTD as sponsoring institution and Chairman of TTD as Chairman-cum-Chancellor
of SVIMS in AP Gazette vide ACT No.24 of 2021, Dated 20th December 2021.

The constituent colleges are:
A) SVIMS - Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women (SVIMS - SPMCW): The college was permitted by
Govt. of India for admitting MBBS students with 150 annual intake w.e.f. 2014-15 academic year, and later
increased to 175 w.e.f 2019-20. The admissions are carried out as per the G.O. Ms No. 77, dt : 19.07.2019,
HM & FW (C1) Dept., Govt. of AP. The college is one of the reputed institutions in Andhra Pradesh with
good teaching faculty and infrastructure to impart teaching and training to the students. The admission process
will be carried out by Dr. YSR UHS, Vijayawada.
B) College of Nursing: The college of Nursing was established in the year 1996, with the objective of providing
graduate, postgraduate teaching and for research in the relevant disciplines of modern nursing. Courses
offered are B.Sc. (Nursing), M.Sc. (Nursing) and Ph.D. The college has excellent infrastructure with well-
equipped laboratories, advanced teaching and learning activities. The Indian Nursing council recognized for
B.Sc. (N) and M.Sc. (N) course. Later, the Govt. of A.P has issued G.O.Ms.No.65 dt:14.07.2021 by General
Administration (Services-D)for implementation of 10% for Economically weaker Section (EWS) for
admission into Educational Institutions from the academic year 2021-22. Now, the seats for B.Sc. (N) is 110
and M.Sc. (N) is 33.
C) College of Physiotherapy: The College of Physiotherapy was established in the year 1998. The college
offers graduate and postgraduate & Ph.D. courses in Physiotherapy, in-patient and out-patient services and
special services through obesity clinic, pain clinic, Paediatrics clinic, advanced Physiotherapy, ergonomics &
life style modification. There are 55 seats in BPT and 27 seats in MPT after implementation of 10% EWS
reservation.
D) Allied Health Sciences: The University started paramedical, PG Diploma courses w.e.f. 1995-96 academic
year for science graduates. The duration of the course was 02 years and on completion, a PG Diploma was
awarded, which has got the recognition of Andhra Pradesh Paramedical Board. Later, B.Sc. Allied Health
Sciences (Paramedical) courses with 03 year duration were started w.e.f. 2009-10 academic year in 08
specialities. Now, 10 specialities are running from the a.y. 2015 onwards. From 2015-16 onwards the duration
of the course was increased from 3 years to 4 years. The courses are recognized by AP Paramedical Board.
E) Biotechnology: The Department of Biotechnology was established in 2003. It offers two courses, M.Sc.
(Biotechnology) and Ph.D.
The research highlights of the department are:
a) Isolation, culturing, and differentiation of human hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) into cardiomyocytes,
astrocytes, oligodendrocytes, type II pneumocytes, osteocytes, and beta cells of islets of Langerhancs,
podocytes, platelets, erythrocytes, and hepatocytes.
b) Development of drugs against multidrug-resistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus.
Students who passed out from the department are absorbed in various prestigious industrial organizations that
are leaders in the development of drugs, vaccines, etc. The students have also been selected in various national
level examinations like Biotech Consortium India Ltd. (BCIL), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research
(CSIR), Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) etc. The
intake of students for M.Sc. Biotechnology is 17 in each academic year after implementation of 10% EWS
reservation.
F) Bioinformatics: The Department of Bioinformatics established in 2003, is offering M.Sc. Bioinformatics and
Ph.D. programmes. The students are selected in various National level examinations like GATE, ICMR,
Bioinformatics Industrial Training Programme, New Delhi (BIITP). The successful students are absorbed in
industrial organizations, and software companies. The DBT, ministry of science and technology, Govt. of India
has sanctioned the Bioinformatics centre to support teaching and research work. The Bioinformatics
infrastructure facility was housed in the Department of Bioinformatics. The Bioinformatics centre offers two
studentships for final semester M.Sc. Bioinformatics students and two traineeships for M.Sc. Bioinformatics
students every year. The students selected under this scheme are awarded a stipend of Rs 10,000/- per month
for a period of six months. The intake of students for M.Sc. Bioinformatics is 17 in each academic year after
implementation of 10% EWS reservation.

G) Central Facilities :
This is a advanced diagnostic and research facility established at SVIMS. This facility spans 36,000 sq.ft.
built as G+3 floors. The programs on each of the floors are designed in keeping with the cross cutting research
themes and to launch path-breaking healthcare innovations. All essential core equipment’s are in various
stages of being commissioned. The CfAR building is dedicated to population health research, clinical trails
infrastructure, data management centre, Biostatics and Epidemiology, facilities for research projects under the
theme “Infection, Inflammation and Immunity” Biobank, Regenerative Medicine, Islet, cell transplantation,
stem cell biology, Biotechnology and Bioinformatics.
The VRDL (State level) was sanctioned in the last quarter of 2014 under “Setting up of Nation-wide
network of laboratories for managing epidemics and National calamities’ 12th plan of Department of health
research ministry of Health & Family welfare, Government of INDIA. The lab was started function from 1st
August 2015. Due to excellent and medical departments of SVIMS it was possible to establish the new VRDL
at SVIMS within a year time.
Department of Clinical Virology, SVIMS is a ‘Regional Coordinating Center for prevention and control of
Zoonotic diseases In India. This is a part of Inter-Sectoral coordination for Prevention and Control of
Zoonotic Diseases program under the umbrella of NCDC, DGHS, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, GOI.

The notification will be issued by the SVIMS University inviting applications from the eligible candidates
who satisfy the Local or Non-local status in Andhra Pradesh (Residence requirement) as laid down in Andhra
Pradesh Education Institutions (Regulations of Admissions) Order, 1974 applicable to Non-statewide Universities
and Educational Institutions as subsequently amended. The admissions are subject to the procedure laid down in the
G.O. Ms. No. 25, Dt: 22.03.2016 of HM & FW (C1), Dept. Govt. of A.P.
The notification will be issued at State Level (Telugu) for inviting application from the eligible
candidates of Andhra Pradesh as per G.O. Ms.No.25, Dt.22.03.2016 of HM & FW (C1), Dept. of AP and also
another notification at National Level (English) to invite applications from the eligible Indian Nationals
simultaneously.
Note: The confirmation of the admission is subject to the outcome of any litigation pending before
any court of law in the states of Andhra Pradesh.

M.Sc. Nursing programme is recognized by Indian Nursing Council
i) Eligibility
The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered midwife or equivalent with any State
Nursing Registration Council.
1. The Minimum education requirements shall be passing of B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. Nursing /
Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with minimum of 55% aggregate marks.
2. The candidate should have undergone training in B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. Nursing / Post Basic
B.Sc. Nursing.
3. Minimum one year of work experience after Basic B.Sc. Nursing, to be fulfilled prior to the date of
Commencement of M.Sc.(N) programme.
4. Minimum one year of work experience prior or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing (regular stream) to be
fulfilled prior to the date of commencement of M.Sc.(N) programme.
5. Candidate shall be Medically fit.
6. Government In-service candidates have to enclose 'No Objection Certificate' from their employer.
ii) Method of Selection:
The selection is based on merit in the entrance test conducted by the University at B.Sc.(N) standard. The test
is conducted on 100 multiple choice questions. The duration of the examination is 90 minutes.
In case equal marks are secured in the entrance test, the total marks in B.Sc. (N) shall be taken into
consideration for fixing the inter merit of the candidates. If the entrance test marks & total marks in degree
are equal, elder in age shall be preferred.

The selected candidates except Government In-Service, at the time of admission have to submit an affidavit
stating that they are not working elsewhere.

a) Eligibility:
The candidates for admission to this course should have passed Bachelor of Physiotherapy from a
recognized institute and completed internship at the time of applying. The candidates who will be completing
internship on or before 31.08.2024 are also eligible to apply, subject to submission of declaration signed by
the applicant and the Principal from the college where he/she is doing internship as per the proforma
available in Annexure –I
b) Method of Selection:
The Method of selection is based on the following criteria.
i. Entrance exam :
The selection is based on the entrance test conducted by SVIMS University, at BPT standard. The mode of
test shall be on 100 multiple choice questions. The duration of the examination shall be 90 minutes.
ii. Total percentage of marks secured in BPT, if same rank is secured in the entrance exam.
ii. Elder person based on the date of birth, if same rank is secured in the entrance and same marks are
secured in BPT course .

Method of Selection:
i. All the PG (M.Sc.) & PG Diploma in MRS courses mentioned in Group – C will have a common entrance
exam.
ii. The selection is based on the combined merit in the qualifying examination (Degree) and marks secured
in the Entrance Test conducted by the University in the ratio of 80:20.
iii. The Entrance Test will be conducted on the subjects & weightage as mentioned below:
English-30%, Logical reasoning -30%, Biology-20%, Physical Sciences-20% at (+2 level) (Intermediate).

Note: Those who are appearing in final year degree examinations are also eligible to apply, subject to submission of
provisional pass certificate and marks memo before displaying the merit list. They have to furnish the filled in
proforma issued by the college authority Annexure – II.
Order of preference for rank :
i. Combined merit rank (qualifying exams marks (80%) + marks secured in the entrance (20%) conducted
by the University.
ii. Passing the qualifying examination in a single attempt.
iii. Total percentage of marks secured in the qualifying examination if same rank is secured.
iv. Elder person based on the date of birth, if same rank in entrance and same marks in the immediately
preceding course. In case of service candidates, they shall obtain NOC from the Head of the Institute
apart from Fulfilling the above criteria.

7.3. Application Submission:
i. The filled-in application form along with the photo copies of relevant certificates and DD for Rs. 5,900/-
for OC/ BC & Rs. 4,956/- for SC/ST category drawn from a nationalized bank in favour of The Director,
SVIMS, Tirupati payable at Tirupati shall be sent by post or in person so as to reach The Registrar, Sri
Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences, Alipiri Road, Tirupati - 517 507 on or before the last date
specified in the prospectus. Applications received after 5:00 pm on the last date will not be entertained.
The university is not responsible for the loss of application in transit or postal delay.
ii. Application without demand draft will be rejected. Bank challans, cheques, postal orders and money orders
will not be accepted. The DD shall be taken on or after 15.07.2024 in favour of the Director, SVIMS,
Tirupati will only be accepted.
iii. It is the responsibility of the candidates to ascertain whether they possess the requisite qualification for
admission. Having been called for the written test/counselling does not mean acceptance of eligibility.
Based on the rank obtained in the entrance / academic merit in the qualifying examination, the eligible
candidates will be informed to appear for counselling. The university will not reimburse any expenditure
incurred by the candidate to attend for the counselling. Selection of the candidate will not be final unless
the original certificates are verified, found correct and the course fee is paid.
iv. Late or incomplete applications without necessary enclosures will be rejected.
v. The decision of the selection committee is final.
8. AREA RESERVATION:
The candidate shall satisfy Local/ Non-local status as per G.O.P No.646 Edn. (W1) Dept. dt
10.07.1979 and Presidential order. The procedure indicated in the above G.O for selection of
candidate as amended in G.O.Ms. No. 42, Higher education (EC2) Dept. dt: 18.05.2009 shall be
followed.
8.1 Reservation in favor of the Local candidates:
a) Admission to 85% of the seats shall be reserved in favor of the local candidates in relation to the local
area as provided in AP Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) order, 1974 as given in
Annexure IV of G.O (P) No. 646, Edu. (W1) Department dt:10.07.1979.
b) 85% admissions are made in favor of the local candidates belonging to Sri Venkateswara University
area as per the G.O. Ms. No. 25, Dt: 22.03.2016 of HM & FW (C1), Dept., Govt. of A.P.
8.2 Local Area:
The part of the state comprising the Districts of Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore, Nandyal, Sri Sathya Sai,
YSR Kadapa, Chittoor, Annamayya, Tirupati, Ananthapur & Kurnool shall be regarded as Local area
for the purpose of admission into Sri Venkateswara University area which is subject to the control of
the State Govt. and is situated in that part.
8.3 Local candidates:
a) A Candidate for admission shall be regarded as local candidate in relation to a local area.
b) If he/she studied in an Educational Institution or Educational Institutions in such local area for a period of
not less than 4 (four) consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which he/she appeared
or as the case may be first appeared in relevant qualifying examination.
or
c) Where during the whole or any part of the 4 (four) consecutive academic years ending with the academic
year in which he/she appeared or as the case may be first appeared for the relevant qualifying examination,
he/she has not studied in Educational Institutions, if he/she had resided in that local area for a period of not
less than 4 (four) years immediately preceding the date of commencement of the relevant qualifying
examination, in which he/she appeared or as the case may be first appeared.
or
Local status certificate issued by MRO for claiming as Andhra Pradesh local as per Circular Nos.
4136/SPF&MC/2015-5, dated.08.08.2016, 4136/SPF&MC/2015-13, dated.20.11.2017 & G.O.Ms.No.129,

d) If he/she has studied in educational institutions in the State for a period of not less than 7 (seven)
consecutive academic years ending with academic year in which he/she appeared or as the case may be first

appeared for the relevant qualifying examination be regarded as local candidate in relation to such local
area where he/she has studied for the maximum period out of the said period of 7 (seven) years.
e) Where the period of his/her study in two or more local areas are equal, such local area where he/she has last
studied in such equal periods
or
f) If during the whole or any part of the seven consecutive academic years ending with academic year in
which he/she appeared or as the case may be first appeared for relevant qualifying examination, he/she has
not studied in the educational institution in any local area, but he/she has resided in the State during the
whole of the said period of 7 (seven) years be regarded as a local candidate in relation to Such local area
where he/she has resided for the maximum period out of the said period of 7 (seven) years.
or
g) Where the period of his/her residence in two or more local areas are equal, such local area where he/she has
resided last in such equal periods.
Note: The merit of the non-local candidate shall not be less than the merit of the last candidate admitted in the open
competition among the local candidates. If seats in the Un-reserved category are not filled-up, they will be
transferred to the S.V.U region.
N.B.: 1. The area reservation clauses mentioned above are explanatory for ease of understanding of the general
public and cannot be upheld in a court of law. Please refer to the Andhra Pradesh Educational
institutions (regulation of admissions) order, 1974, G.O. P. No. 646, dated 10th July, 1979] as amended
from time to time.
2. Relevant certificates must be attached to the application in respect of their claim, in respect of
residence. The certificate should be obtained from the Revenue authorities.
9. RESERVATION CRITERIA:
9.1. Reservations for Schedule Castes (SC) and Schedule Tribes (ST)
a) Out of the seats available for admission by the University, 15% seats shall be reserved for candidates
belonging to SC, 6% of seats shall be reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes in all the
courses.
b) In the event that if any seats reserved for S.T. not being filled up, they will be thrown open to the
candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and vice-versa.
c) In the event of the candidates from the SC and ST are not being available, these seats shall be allotted to
the candidates under open competition.

9.2 Reservation for Backward Classes:
a) 29% of the available seats for admission in the University for various courses shall be reserved for
candidates belonging to Backward Classes as follows:
BC-A -7%, BC-B-10%, BC-C-1%, BC-D-7% & BC-E*-4% as per the G.O.Ms.No.1793, Education,
dt.23.09.1970 and G.O.Ms.No.23, Backward Classes Welfare (C2), dated. 07-07-2007 and
G.O.Ms.No.231, Health Medical and Family Welfare (E1) Department, dated 11-07-2007.
* Subject to further orders of the Government of A.P. / High Court.
b) If qualified candidates belonging to Back Ward Class of particular group are not available, the left over
seats can be adjusted for the candidates of next group. If qualified candidates belonging to Back Ward
Classes are not available to fill up the 29% seats reserved for them, the left over seats shall be treated as
Open Competition seats and shall be filled up with candidates by merit.
c) The Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward classes sub categories belonging to the State of
Andhra Pradesh only shall be considered as specified by the Govt. of A.P from time to time.
1. In this process, if a MRC candidate has slided / re- allotted college as per rules of reservation, the
vacated seat in open competition will be filled with candidate from the same reserved category only
in order of merit.
2. If the MRC candidate has not joined in slided / re-allotted college in reserved category it will be
considered as open category seat.
3. If the reserved candidate after sliding who occupied the MRC vacated seat in open category did not
join, it would be filled by same reserved candidate as per rule of reservation in the order of merit and
this process shall be continued till the MRC vacated seat gets filled up.

b) No candidate seeking reservation for admission under the above categories be allowed to participate in
the Counseling for admission unless he produces the Integrated Community Certificate prescribed by the
Government and issued by the Revenue Authorities in the Government (Vide G.O.Ms. No. 58, Social
Welfare (J) Department, dated. 12-05-1997).
Note :-The Social Reservation provided for BC’s SCs, ST’s in the ratio of 29%,15% and 6%
respectively shall be vertical reservations .
ii. M.Sc. (Nursing) course: 20% of the seats are reserved in M.Sc.(N) for In- service candidates to study on
deputation, Vide Ref. G.O.Ms.No.282, dt:22/07/2008 of Health, Medical & Family Welfare (M1) Dept.
Note: Any other orders issued by the Govt. of .AP. before the counselling schedule will also be adopted.
10. COUNSELLING :
10.1. Counselling for M.Sc. Nursing / MPT / M.Sc. (AHS) courses :
The minimum percentage of marks shall be obtained in the entrance test as mentioned below.
Open category - 35%
BC category - 35%

The qualifying marks applicable as per the G.O.Ms.No.44 Health Education (EC) Department, dated
23.08.2021.
a. No request for re- totaling or revaluation or personal verification of the answer scripts of the entrance test
shall be entertained for M.Sc. Nursing.
b. The qualified candidates in the entrance test will be called for counselling and also the merit list will be
placed in the institute's website. Non receipt of call letter by any individual candidate will not vitiate the
selection process. If their name is found in the list of candidates called for counselling, they can attend
with all the original certificates and fees for the counselling.
c. The date of counselling will be intimated to the eligible candidates and will be placed in the institute's
website.
d. In case of any grievance, the decision of the Director-cum-VC, SVIMS shall be final and binding.
e. Second and Third counselling schedule for vacancies will be notified in the website. No individual
communication will be sent. The candidates have to visit the website and attend for the counselling.
10.2 Counselling for M.Sc. AHS and PG Diploma in Medical Records Science.
a. All the candidates appeared for the Entrance Exam (SVIMS PG CET) conducted by SVIMS will be
awarded Ranking.
b. The Ranks will be awarded based on the combined merit in the qualifying examination (Degree) and
Marks secured in the Entrance Test conducted by the University in the ratio of 80:20.
c. No request for re-totaling or revaluation or personal identification of the answer scripts of the entrance
test shall be entertained.
d. The counselling will be held as per the schedule notified in the Prospectus.
The merit list will be placed in the institute's website. Non receipt of call letter by any individual
candidate will not vitiate the selection process. If their name is found in the list of candidates called for

duplicate call letter in the Counselling Hall.

10.3. Counselling for Post Basic Diploma in Nursing
The candidates shall have passed the qualifying examination and admission is based on the following:
a. The merit list of the candidates for each group of courses will be prepared separately. The percentage of
marks shall be calculated up to two decimal places
b. The qualified candidates in merit order called for counselling will be sent call letter and also the merit list
will be placed in the institute's website. Non receipt of call letter by any individual candidate will not vitiate
the selection process. If their name is found in the list of candidates called for counselling, they can attend
with all the original certificates and fees for the counselling.
c. Second and Third counselling schedule for vacancies will be notified in the website.
d. No individual communication will be sent. The candidates have to visit the website and attend for the
counselling.
e. In case of any grievance, the decision of the Director-cum-VC, SVIMS shall be final and binding.
There is a well-established library with a collection of 22647 books with subscription for 146 print
journals (88 foreign and 58 Indian). It has a back volume journal collection of 8397 dating back to 1993. It is having
e-library facility with 15 nodes for browsing internet for the use of faculty, P.G. and U.G. students. Library is kept
open for 363 days in a year except on January, 26th and August 15th and functions 16 hours a day i.e. 8.00 A.M. to
12.00 Midnight. During festival holidays and Sundays, library is kept open from 10.00 A.M to 5.00 P.M. All the
library services are automated by adopting KOHA library automation software. The National Medical Library, New
Delhi providing membership in ERMED consortium to access 228+ e-journals with back issues.

iii. Candidates called for entrance test and counselling will have to make their own arrangements. No TA/DA will
be paid by the institution.
iv. The decision of the Head of the institute shall be final in all the matters of selection and admission to various
courses and no appeal shall be entertained on this subject.
v. All courses are conducted on full time basis. Private practice in any form is prohibited. The candidates are
strictly not permitted to undertake any other full time, part time or correspondence courses.
vi. All candidates admitted to the institute shall maintain good conduct, carry out assignments, attend their
classes/training regularly and abide by the regulations of the institute.
vii. Selected candidates have to submit migration certificate from the university from which they have passed the last
qualifying examination, at the time of joining the institute.
viii. Eligible candidates for M.Sc., MPT and M.Sc. (N) entrance tests will be sent hall tickets. Those who do not
receive the same and their name be found in the list of candidates eligible for entrance test may contact the
examination section through mail/phone for duplicate hall ticket.
ix. Any changes in date, time, venue and / or schedule of the entrance tests, counselling will be announced on our
website and via print media. No individual intimation will be given to the candidates.
x. The candidates are requested to keep themselves updated by visiting the university website regularly from time
to time or keeping in touch with the academic/examination section of SVIMS.
xi. The rules and regulations in this prospectus are subject to change in accordance with the decision of the institute
from time to time.
xii. In-service Candidates: The employees who are in the Govt. service have to furnish ‘No objection
certificate (NOC)’ from the competent authority along with the application. Upon selection shall submit
relieving order from their parent institution and report for joining as on the date of commencement of the course.
xiii. Medical Fitness :
Admission to the programme for the year is subject to being found medically fit by the medical board of
SVIMS.
xiv. Medical Conditions Affecting Admission :
The candidate with the following diseases will not be eligible for admission as it would
interfere with the successful completion of the course.
- Any form of cancer
- Uncontrolled hypertension
- Psychiatric mental disorders
- Renal failure
- Cardiac conditions that limit normal daily activities
- Major orthopedic deformities
- Severe loss of hearing
- Severe eczema
- Color blindness
- And any other conditions which as certified by the medical board of the University would interfere with the
successful completion of the course.
- Any chronic illness or treatment taken prior should be declared at the time of
admission. Failure to do so may lead to dismissal from the course.
The student has to disclose his/her illness/s, either past or present, voluntarily in
the application failing which, his/her admission will stand cancelled and the fees
remitted will not be refunded at any cost. If found suffering with the diseases above
during the course of study he/she will be expelled from the university
WARNING :
In case any candidate is found to have submitted false information or certificate or is found to have withheld or
concealed any information, he/she shall be debarred from continuing the course and shall face such appropriate
action initiated against him/her by the Head of the Institute.
14.1. Cancellation & Refund of Fees (Applicable to cancellation of seats before the
final counselling):
The admitted students, shall submit a request to the Registrar endorsed by the parent with valid reason forwarded
by the respective head of the department. The cancellation will be permitted and fees paid will be refunded by
following due procedure as per the schedule.

14. 1(a): Calculation of refund of fee for 1st counselling admitted students:
i. 80% of fees - before commencement of the academic programme.
ii. 70% of fees - 1st to 15th day after commencement of the programme.
iii. 60% of fees - 16th to 30th day after commencement of the programme.
iv. No refund of fees - beyond 30th day after commencement of the programme.
14. 1(b): Calculation of refund of fee for 2nd and further counselling based on the
counselling date:
i. 80% of fees – Same day of the counselling.
ii. 70% of fees – 2nd to 15th day from the Counselling date.
iii. 60% of fees - 16th to 30th day from the Counselling date.
iv. No refund of fees - beyond 30th day from the Counselling date.
+ 18% GST will be collected on the fee paid by the student towards cancellation /Discontinuation of the course
from the amount refundable.
Note: The requests will be accepted / processed for refund of fee upto one day before the final counselling
only. Requests received on the day of final counselling / After the final counselling date will not be accepted
and there is no refund of money.
14.2. Discontinuation (Applicable After final counselling-Paid amount will not be refunded):
The student has the liberty to leave the institute in the middle of the course subject to fulfillment of the
conditions prescribed in the prospectus. The request shall be submitted by both the parent and student along with
the no dues certificate from the HODs concerned. The students of physiotherapy/nursing have to submit the
request to the principal concerned. The students of the rest of the courses have to submit the request to the Dean
forwarded by the HODs concerned. After obtaining the approval from the Director-cum-VC, the Dean/the
Principal concerned shall permit the student for discontinuation.
The eligible SC/ST students, who are admitted with partial payment of fee/no fee as per the recommendation
of the welfare authorities and the G.Os issued by the Government from time to time, shall be permitted for
discontinuation without insisting for further payment of the balance fee of the particular academic year. The
students of other categories have to pay the full fee of the respective academic year in order to be eligible for
submission of a request for discontinuation. The student will not be insisted for payment of tuition fee for further
course of study.
Note: For discontinued students there is no refund of any money.
The students shall maintain strict discipline during the period of study/training programme in terms of
conduct rules of the institute. The candidates shall not resort to mal practice and any strikes during the period of
their study. Use of alcohol, banned drugs, drug trafficking and eve teasing and any other criminal offences, are
strictly prohibited in the campus and students found indulging in such activities will be subjected to strict
disciplinary action as per the law. Indulging in any criminal activity within or outside the University and any
physical violence against colleagues / students / residents will attract stern disciplinary action including rustication.
The students are not permitted to approach the print or electronic media for redressal of their grievances, this
amounts to indiscipline. They are not permitted to approach legal authorities / INC / NMC/ Govt. etc., without prior
permission from the institution. In case of violation of the conduct rules, the admission of the candidate is liable for
cancellation apart from disciplinary action by the institute.

A Committee is constituted by the university to combat the menace of violence against women and sexual
harassment in the campus as per the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India guidelines. Suitable action will be taken by the
committee based on their report against the student who is involved in such activity.
The disciplinary committee constituted by the university shall examine all the disciplinary and related issues
pertaining to the students. The misconduct /indiscipline related cases shall be brought to the notice of the Dean.
Based on the gravity of the case, the committee shall make appropriate recommendations for further action.
Ragging, use of drugs, drug trafficking, eve teasing etc. are strictly forbidden in the university campus
and persons found indulging in such activities will be subjected to strict disciplinary action as per the law. Indulging
in any criminal activity within or outside the university and any physical violence against fellow students and fellow
residents will not be tolerated and will attract stern disciplinary action including rustication.
As per the orders of the "Hon' ble Supreme Court of India” if any incident of ragging comes to the notice of
the authority of the University, he/she who has indulged in such incident shall be given a chance to explain and if
his/her explanation is not satisfactory, the authority would expel him/her from the University besides making entry
in his certificates to that effect. Apart from the above, the students are liable for a fine up to Rs.50,000/-, rigorous
imprisonment up to three years (by court of law), and other punishments as per the Act.No.26 of 1997, dated 21-08-
1997 of State of Andhra Pradesh.

a. Payment of caution deposit of Rs. 5,000/- (refundable) and hostel establishment fund (Corpus fund) of Rs.
5,000/- (Non-refundable) to be paid on the day of allotment of hostel accommodation.
b. The mess charges shall be borne by the students apart from the hostel establishment charges as applicable.
At the time of allotment of hostel, the candidate has to pay one year establishment charges in advance and mess
charges monthly as applicable.
14.7. SCHOLARSHIP :
The students who belong to SC/ST/BC/PWD/EBC/EWS/minority belonging to the State of Andhra Pradesh are
eligible to get the scholarship from the respective welfare authorities of the Govt. of A.P. The eligibility of the
candidate and amount for reimbursement of fee is decided by the social welfare officer after verifying the original
documents like caste, ration card, Aadhar card, income certificate etc., on the day of the counseling. The
difference of tuition fee (if any) is to be paid by the student in each academic year within the last date specified. In
the event of submitting wrong declaration and documents, both the student and parent are liable for legal action.
15. TRAINING:
Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), Tirupati imparts training through super specialty
hospital & Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women Hospital.
SVIMS ensures that teaching methods employed, facilities and content of the programs are in line with the
latest innovations with a strong science base. The Institute promotes teaching and training through seminars,
didactic lectures and wide range of clinical and laboratory experiences, independent thinking and relevant research.
The students are provided hands on training in the State-of-Art equipments available in the Institute under
the supervision of senior technologists and faculty. They are not permitted to handle the equipment and patients
independently. In the event of causing damage to the equipment or accessories or misbehaving with the patients
will lead to stern disciplinary action apart from recovery of the damage caused.
16. MAXIMUM PERIOD OF STUDY OF THE COURSE (Duration of the completion of the course):
Maximum period of the study of the course (duration of completion of the course):
The maximum total study period (defined as the period from enrolment into the course till passing of all
examinations including final) shall be twice the minimum / normal study period of that particular course. The
period of internship if any, shall be excluded from this duration of course.
17. MEDALS:
The following medals are awarded to the best outgoing students in the following courses.
a. Faculty, College of Physiotherapy medal for the best outgoing student in MPT course.
b. Komal Reddy Foundation Trust Medal for the best outgoing student in M.Sc. Nursing.
Note: The confirmation of the admission is subject to the outcome of any litigation pending before any
court of law in the Republic of India.
18. ATTENDANCE :
A candidate must have minimum of 80% attendance (irrespective of the kind of absence) in theory and
practical in each subject for appearing for examination. A candidate must have 100% attendance in each of the
practical areas before award of degree.
Participation in NCC, NSS, Sports and Games, educational tours, professional meetings and conferences or
other Co-curricular activities representing the institution / university will not count as absence, provided the
student is permitted by the University through proper channel. The shortage of attendance, if any, upto 10%
shall only be condoned.

19. FILLING OF VACANT SEATS :
a) If the seats are vacant after the third counseling in other than MCI permitted / recognized courses, if there are
no candidates available to join the course, the following procedure shall be followed.
The candidates who have not applied earlier and not attended the entrance examination also can be admitted by
advertising as local news item.
b) If there are no candidates available within the Andhra Pradesh to join in the vacant seats in any course, the
candidates from outside state of Andhra Pradesh /Telangana can also be admitted in these vacant seats.
i. Break of study’ means any absence more than 3 months during the course of study.
ii. 3 months for this purpose is a period of 90 days (ninety days) to be recorded from the date of absence
irrespective of the number of days in one calendar month.
iii. For all practical purpose only two types of break of study is allowed.
a. Less than 3 months of break (as per definition)
b. More than 3 months of break but less than the twice the number of years of
study of a particular course.
Ex. For MBBS twice the number of years of study is 9 years
For B.Sc. (Nursing) / Physiotherapy is 8 years.
iv. If the candidate has one Break of study for two spells in an academic year of a particular course the
candidates is deemed to have been discharged from the course of study.
v. Only two spells of break of study for the entire duration of the course is permitted.
During second spell of break of study even if the break of study is less than 90 days, permission must be
obtained from the university and that spell of Break shall also be counted as second spell of break.
vi. For less than three months of break, the Dean can permit to rejoin in to the course under intimation to the
university.
vii. If the break of study is more than three months, the candidates has to apply to the university through the
Principal /HOD. The University can give permission to the candidate to complete the course within twice
the years of the study of the particular course.
The candidate shall apply for re-joining the course by remitting the stipulated fee of Rs. 7,000/- for
condonation of break of study with specific remarks of the Dean/Principal. An undertaking from the student
shall be taken that she/he was not involved in criminal cases during the absence.
For SC and ST students who are eligible for scholarship, the payment of fees need not be insisted and the same
can be claimed from the respective welfare authorities from Government. However, the difference of fees to be
sanctioned by the Government shall be paid by the students on the day of counseling.

23. CANCELLATION OF ADMISSION :
Notwithstanding anything contained in these rules, the Dean of this Institute may at any time before
Completion of the course, either on his own motion or on the application of any person after due and proper
enquiry and after giving the person to explanation and on personal hearing, order the cancellation of the
admission to the course, if in his opinion, such candidate had furnished incorrect particulars/false information in
the application or in the documents attached thereto, or in the statements made either before the authority in
charge of admission or the Dean or any other manner. Also in cases of indiscipline, negligence in the care of
patients, willful damage to the equipment and disobedience to teachers, the admission of the candidate can be
cancelled on the recommendation of the Head of the Department concerned. Against any such order of the
Dean, the appeal shall lie with the Director-cum-VC, SVIMS.
24. CONDONATION OF LACK OF ATTENDANCE :
a) The condonation of attendance on medical grounds or on absence under extraordinary circumstances to
those who are having the attendance between 70% and 79% in each paper will be granted in genuine cases.
However, condonation of attendance shortage will not allowed in practical for B.Sc and M.Sc Nursing
courses.
b) The students concerned, who have shortage of attendance in the particular papers have to apply through the
Principals / HODs to the Controller of Examinations, indicating the reasons for shortage of attendance. If
the reason is on the medical grounds, the relevant medical certificate has to enclosed to the representation.
If the student attended inter university sports / tournaments or above on behalf of the University, the
relevant certificate may be enclosed.
c) If any student falls below the 70% of attendance, he/she will not be allowed to write the University
examinations.
25. MEDICAL TREATMENT TO THE STUDENTS IN SVIMS :
All the students pursuing various courses in SVIMS University can avail the medical facilities in
SVIMS at free of cost. After admission, they have to register with the Medical Records Department, giving
their particulars. Before registration, the student has to furnish a declaration that he/she has not been
suffering any chronic/contagious diseases and physically and mentally in a good health condition. The
treatment both in-patient / out-patient services will be limited as per the rules framed by the institution.
26. MIGRATION/TRANSFER OF CANDIDATES :
Migration/Transfer of candidates from any recognized institution to this University or vice versa will
not be considered. The migration certificate will be issued to the candidates on payment of the fee
prescribed, for those who have completed their course of study, if they wish to join at other university for
higher study.
27. REFUND OF CAUTION DEPOSIT:
The Caution Deposit shall be paid by each student on the day of admission, shall be returned after the
successful completion of the course. The student has to submit a request to the Registrar forwarded by the
HOD and on production of the no dues certificate from the head of the departments concerned. If the
student has any dues to the Institute, the same will be recovered. A maximum period of 06 months shall be
allowed for claim, beyond which, the deposit will be returned to the main account and further request will
not be entertained.
28. REFUND OF HOSTEL DEPOSIT :

29. SEXUAL HARASSMENT:
The university endeavors to provide an environment free from sexual harassment and communal or
religious disturbance. The University does not tolerate any form of communal, religious or sexual
discrimination or harassment. All form of sexual harassment from verbal abuse to inappropriate touching to
sexual assault are punishable as per law.

General Instructions :
1. The separate application available for All India candidates is attached with this
bulletin. The same has to be filled and submitted along with fee and supporting
documents.
2. Application without demand draft will be rejected. Bank challans, cheques, postal orders
and money orders will not be accepted. The DD shall be taken on or after 15.07.2024 in
favour of the Director, SVIMS, Tirupati will only be accepted
3. The list of candidates applied, list of candidates called for written test and interview
will be notified in the institute website.
5. After two rounds of counselling is completed for the Local Candidates as per G.O.
Ms. No. 25, Dt: 22.03.2016 of HM & FW (C1), Dept. Govt. of A.P., the remaining
vacancies will be opened for All India category. The seats are filled based on the merit
in the entrance examination and seats are allotted category wise (OC/BC/SC/ST).
6. The candidates have to attend in person for counselling with all the original
certificates and fees as mentioned in the prospectus.
7. The admission is offered subject to availability of seats. Mere qualifying in the test
cannot be claimed as right for admission.
8. The candidate has to satisfy the eligibility and on submission of all the original
certificates and paid the fees, the admission order will be issued.
9. Admission into hostel is not mandatory. The hostel accommodation is provided, subject
to availability.
