SCHOOL JOB VACANCIES

A school in Kahawa Sukari is seeking experienced, reliable, and detail-oriented individuals to fill
key roles on our team. If you are passionate about creating a positive impact in an educational

1. Head Cook

 Responsibilities:
 Lead and oversee the kitchen team in planning, preparing, and serving healthy,
balanced meals for students and staff.
 Manage inventory and maintain accurate records of food supplies, including
stock-taking and reordering supplies as needed.
 Ensure compliance with food safety standards and maintain a hygienic, organized
kitchen environment.
 Requirements:
 Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory cooking role, ideally in a
school, institutional, or large-scale food service setting.
 Proven knowledge of food safety regulations, dietary planning, and kitchen
management.

2. Cook

 Responsibilities:
 Support the Head Cook in daily meal preparation, ensuring meals are prepared
according to recipes and served on schedule.
 Assist in maintaining cleanliness and order in the kitchen and uphold food safety
standards.
 Requirements:
 Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a cook, ideally in a school or institutional
kitchen setting.
 Familiarity with basic kitchen operations and food hygiene practices.

3. Driver

 Responsibilities:
 Provide safe, reliable transportation for students and staff as per school schedules.
 Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the vehicle and ensure it is in safe working
condition through regular checks and maintenance.
 Assist in keeping records of vehicle use, mileage, and maintenance.
 Requirements:
 Valid D3 driver’s license or above with a clean driving record.
 Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a driver, preferably in a school or
commercial environment.
 Strong understanding of road safety, punctuality, and experience in handling
school transport logistics.
4. Secretary

 Responsibilities:
 Manage administrative tasks, including answering phone calls, greeting visitors,
handling inquiries, and providing support to school administration.
 Maintain organized filing systems, assist with record-keeping, and manage basic
data entry and document management.
 Support with scheduling, preparation of reports, and general office functions.
 Requirements:
 Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an administrative or secretarial role,
preferably within a school or office environment.
 Excellent organizational, communication, and computer skills (including
proficiency in Microsoft Office).

5. Cleaner

 Responsibilities:
 Ensure all school areas, such as classrooms, restrooms, and common areas, are
clean and sanitized.
 Report any maintenance issues and assist in keeping cleaning supplies stocked
and properly stored.
 Requirements:
 Prior experience as a cleaner in an institutional or school setting is preferred.
 Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

6.Lab Technician
 Responsibilities:

 Prepare and set up laboratory equipment and materials for experiments and
practical lessons.
 Assist teachers and students during lab sessions, ensuring safe handling of
chemicals and equipment.
 Maintain inventory of lab supplies, and ensure equipment is properly cleaned,
stored, and maintained.
 Adhere to safety protocols, reporting any hazards or incidents immediately.

 Requirements:

 Prior experience as a lab technician, preferably in an educational institution.


 Knowledge of laboratory safety standards and handling of lab equipment.
 Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
7.Librarian

 Responsibilities:

 Manage and organize library resources, including cataloguing books, magazines,


and digital materials.
 Assist students and staff in locating and using library resources for research and
study.
 Promote a reading culture and encourage the use of library resources.
 Maintain an orderly and quiet environment, ensuring books and materials are
returned and organized.

 Requirements:
 Experience as a librarian or in a similar role is preferred, particularly in a school
or academic setting.
 Familiarity with library cataloguing systems and digital resource management.
 Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for fostering learning and literacy.
