Board of Directors -Tameer e Khaliq Foundation

Tameer-e-Khalaq Foundation (TKF) is a non-governmental organization registered under


societies registration act 1860 and voluntary social welfare organization ordinance 1961
to take the work /activities permittable under the law.
As per law TKF is being governed by an active and intact five (5) members board of
directors from different fields of life to keep the organization according to rules and
regulations as prescribed by provincial and Federal governments and ensure the
adherence of organization to its objectives.

Role of BOD Members:

The Board of Directors is a diverse group of leaders from across the nonprofit, academic,
and Business sectors. The board draws on its expertise and experience in social
development and upbringing the marginalized segment of society with the partnership of
national and international organizations. The Board is responsible to provide oversight,
governance, and strategic direction to the organization.

The Role of the Board of Directors


The role of the board involves strategy formulation for the organization, policy setting,
compliance, and oversight. The board's role is limited to governance, with Tor's day-to-
day operational responsibilities lies in the hands of the CEO and staff. The board's specific
responsibilities include:
• Setting strategic direction for TKF, including reviewing the annual strategic plan
presented by the CEO.
• Ensure the financial transparency and financial objectivity according to partners
agreements and organizational governing regulations.
• Approvals of last year/quarter business plan of activities like audit reports, budgets,
statutory changes, legal obligations.
• Helping the CEO in linkages development for future growth of organization.
• Advising the Chief Executive on matters arising outside of the strategic plan.
• Assisting and guiding the CEO with fundraising and networking on an as-needed
basis.
• Serve as a think tank, mentor and sounding board to the Chief Executive and other
key responsible persons as needed.
• Attend the periodic and special meetings and approve the activities plans along
with the approval of futures plans.

The Role of Individual Board Members

Board members are expected to demonstrate a deep commitment to TKF vision and
mission. They serve as ambassadors for the organization within their own communities.

Service on the Board of Directors requires:

• Attend the board meetings as per legal requirement.


• Attend the special board meeting in between quarterly meetings, as needed and
called by BOD as per regulations.
• Appropriate preparation in advance of all board meetings;
• Responding to discussion required as per agenda.
• Compliance with organizational by laws and policies.
• Provide inputs according to their field of expertise in the running projects and also
provide guidelines for exploration of new opportunities.
