    1 What do you understand by questionnaire? Differentiate between a questionnaire and a schedule. 5

    2 What do you understand by the term experimental research design? Explain the different types of 5

    3 What do you understand by the term hypothesis? Differentiate between a null and an alternate 5
    hypothesis with the help of suitable examples. Briefly explain the type I and type II error in
    research.

    4 What is the significance of report writing in research? Explain the various steps involved in 5
    report writing.

    5 You have been hired as a psephologist who studies elections and voting statistics by a leading 5
    consultancy firm to cover Lok Shabha 2024 elections. Devise a research design with strong focus
    on sampling techniques to provide accurate predictions.

    8 A company has five-year old data which reveals that the average household income is Rs 6
    120,000. Company officials believe that due to the fast development in region, the average
    household income might have increased. The company takes a random sample of 40 households
    to verify this assumption. From the sample, the average income of the households is calculated as
    125,000. From historical data, population standard is obtained as 1200. Use α = 0.05 to verify the
    finding. (Z value of α for 0.05 is ±1.96)

    9 A die is thrown 132 times with following results: Is the die unbiased? The table value of chi- 6
    square for 5 degrees of freedom at 5 percent level of significance is 11.071.
