    Rules and Regulations:
    1. The Tournament is open to Tamil Nadu Players only.
    2. TNSCA player registration for the year 2024 – 25 is compulsory for all the players.
    Players who have paid the TNSCA player registration earlier, must provide the
    TNSCA Registration Number while applying. Players who have not paid the fees
    before, have to pay the fee of Rs.150/- through this link:

    3. As per the resolution passed by the Tirupattur District Chess Association, the
    Tirupattur District Player Registration fee of Rs. 75/- for the year 2024 – 25 is
    exempted for all Tirupattur District players.
    4. Tournament will be conducted as below mentioned categories. Separate
    tournament for Boys and Girls.
    5. Age Limit for Category Prizes:
    Under 9 Under 11 Under 13 Under 17
    Born on or after
    01.01.2015 01.01.2013 01.01.2011 01.01.2007

    6. The Latest FIDE Rules in force shall apply and the Swiss system will be followed.
    7. Time Control: 15 + 5. Default time: 10 minutes
    8. The first round will commence at 9.30 AM on 18.08.2024. The number of rounds
    and the round-wise schedule will be announced during the players meeting.
    9. Players are requested to bring their own international chess sets (and chess
    clock if, any).

    10. Tie break: 1. Buchholz Cut-1, 2. Buchholz, 3. Sonneborn Berger, 4. Direct
    encounter, 5. Number of wins (including forfeit pts.). In case of tie, prizes will not
    be shared.
    11. Age proof certificate must be produced for age category prizes.
    12. Entries close at 5 PM on 15.08.2024. No entry will be entertained thereafter.
    Strictly no spot entries. LIMITED ENTRIES ONLY. Hence the entries shall be closed
    at any time without any announcement. Entry fees once paid will not be returned
    or transferred to others.
    13. A Medal and a Participation Certificate will be awarded to all participants.
    14. Venue will be opened on 18.08.2024, Sunday @ 7 AM only. No request for opening
    in advance will be entertained. Hence players are requested to plan accordingly.
    15. Canteen facility (only snacks) is available inside the campus. Participants are
    requested to make their own for food. Swiggy and Zomato food delivery options are
    also available in the city.
    16. Prize Distribution will be started only after 60 minutes of completion of last
    round of all categories. Prizes and Certificates will not be given in advance at
    any cost. Hence players are requested to plan their return journey after 09.30 pm.
    17. Prizes will be given to players only on stage and it should be received by the
    player only. Prizes shall not be collected by others. No claim of prizes after the PD
    is not entertained.
    18. The TNSCA / Tirupattur DCA / Chessinfo Chess Circle reserve the rights of
    admission to the venue.
    19. Tamilnadu Government guidelines for COVID – 19 will be strictly followed. Hence,
    players and parents are requested to bring masks and sanitizers of their own.
    20. The Chief Arbiter's decisions shall be final and binding on all players
    concerned.
