Apa Itu Adjective Order?


Adjective order adalah urutan penempatan adjective yang harus diikuti saat
kita menulis lebih dari 2 kata sifat dalam satu kalimat. Urutan penulisan ini
didasarkan pada kategori katanya.

Urutan Adjective Order


Peraturan:
Jika ada lebih dari satu kata sifat yang muncul sebelum kata benda, maka
kita meletakkan kata sifat tersebut dengan urutan tertentu. Urutan yang
umum adalah:

Determiner, Opinion, Size, Physical Quality, Age, Shape, Color,


Origin, Material, Purpose

Berikut adalah urutan adjective order:


1. Determiner
Contoh: a, this, that, her, an, his
2. Opinion
Contoh: beautiful, amazing, wonderful, ugly, horrible, expensive
3. Size
Contoh: large, small, medium, tall, short, tiny
4. Physical Quality
Contoh: thick, thin, smooth, sharp, hard, soft
5. Age
Contoh: young, old, ancient, modern, mature
6. Shape
Contoh: square, round, circular, rectangular
7. Color
Contoh: white, black, yellow, pale, bright
8. Origin
Contoh: American, Indonesian, German
9. Material
Contoh: wooden, silk, paper, cotton
10. Purpose
Contoh: Traveling, meeting, cooking, running
11. Noun (kata benda yang di deskripsikan)
Contoh: bag, girl, cheese, car, dress, clock, boy, knife
