1.Introduction:

2.Quality Universities and Colleges:
NEP 2020 emphasizes the need for quality universities and colleges to ensure a robust
and dynamic higher education system in India. It envisions the establishment of world-class
institutions that provide high standards of teaching, research, and community engagement.
The policy advocates a shift from the current fragmented higher education system to a more
multidisciplinary and integrated approach. The objective is to create institutions that not only
offer specialized education but also encourage a broader understanding of diverse fields and

A. Autonomy and Governance: NEP 2020 promotes autonomy for universities and

D. Accreditation and Quality Assurance: NEP 2020 proposes the establishment of a
single regulator, the Higher Education Commission of India (HECI), to oversee the

infrastructure, and research output. The HECI will be responsible for monitoring and
