ABOUT IIIT RANCHI
Indian Institute of Information Technology Ranchi is an autonomous institute set up

by the MOE, Government of India, and Government of Jharkhand along with the
industry partners Tata Motors, TCS, and CCL on a Public Private Partnership (PPP) in
the year 2016. MOE, Government of India has taken up the initiative to set up 20
new Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) on a Public Private
Partnership Model. A major objective in establishing IIITs is to set up a model of
education which can produce best-in-class human resources in IT and harnessing
the multi-dimensional facets of information technology in various domains. While
the number of students produced by these IIITs would be small, the impact they
create would be great. IIIT, Ranchi is determined to offer state-of-the-art facilities for
advanced studies and research.

Welcome to Indian Institute of Information Technology Ranchi. I would like to

extend a warm welcome to all students, faculty, staff, and stakeholders. At IIIT

Prof. Nalin Bharti

Professor
(Economics & Management)
IIT Patna
Nalin Bharti is Professor of Economics (Department of Humanities and Social Sciences) and IPR
Chair Professor appointed by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India on additional charge
basis at IIT Patna. He was awarded doctorate from JNU, New Delhi. His PhD is on Issues in
Privatization and Its Practice: Divestiture of State Owned, Enterprises in Bangladesh and Lessons
for India. His pre and post-doctoral employment includes Visiting Lecturer in colleges at University
of Delhi during 2000 to 2005, Research Associate in 12th Finance Commission, Government of
India in 2004, Lecturer Law and Economics at Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur.
Lecturer - Law and Economics at NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad. His publications include
the area of Labour Economics, India's Economic Reforms, Intellectual Property, WTO and India. He
has successfully completed many research projects sponsored by UNICEF office of Bihar, ICSSR
and JSPS (a joint research project) on 'Indo-Japan Trade and Investment: What Next after CEPA
with Professor Takahiro Sato, Kobe University Japan. He has been awarded Diploma of
Appreciation at University of Bialystok, Poland in Oct, 2014. He has also received many best paper
awards in conferences putside the country. He has contributed around 37 research papers in
International Journal, One Full reference book, 13 book chapters and more than 80 conference
papers in India and abroad. His online course on Infrastructure Economics and another on
Economics of IPR offered on NPTEL (Ministry of Education) got a wide range of acceptance among
the students of India and abroad

Dr. Deepak Sangroya

Dr. Deepak Sangroya is an Associate Professor of Marketing at Jindal Global Business School,
O.P. Jindal Global (Institution of Eminence Deemed To Be University). He has a rich blend of work
experience from both Academics as well as Industry. Prior to joining JGBS, he taught at reputed
institutions like Bennett University and Symbiosis Centre for Management and HRD, Pune.
Deepak earned his Ph.D. from Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Technology
Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) and has completed Master of Business Administration from National Institute
of Technology, Kurukshetra. Prior to academic assignment, he has served in the industry for five
years in India and South Korea. His research interest include B2B Marketing, Green Marketing,
Corporate Environmental Initiative and B2B Branding. He has contributed many research articles in
referred Journals by leading publishers that include Elsevier, Springer and Sage.
Dr. Vijay Laxmi Singh
Fellow IIM Ahmedabad,
M.Phil-IIPS Mumbar
Associate Professor,
Dr Vijay Lakshmi is a Fellow (Ph.D.) of Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (a Triple Crown
accredited institute - EQUIS, AMBA, AACSB-and the top management college of India). Her
research paper from her thesis on Job Crafting won the best paper award at the Academy of
Management's HR Division Conference. The OB Division of AoM also acknowledged her services
for outstanding scholarly peer reviewing. Dr Singh has also qualified the Government of India-
University Grants Commission's National Eligibility Test for Lectureship and Research Fellowship.
Her academic work has been published in ranked peer-reviewed journal publications and she has
presented her research at prestigious international and national conferences. She has also
delivered various soft skills, leadership including women leadership) and managerial development
training programs for professionals, including PSUs and corporates.

Dr. Arijit Roy

Assistant Professor, Indian Institute
of Technology Patna
Currently, I am working as an Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology Patna,

(IITP). Prior to join IITP, I worked as an Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Information
Technology Sri City . I was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in the Parallel Computing and
Optimisation Group,the University of Luxembourg during 2021-2022. I completed my Ph.D. from
the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, in the Smart Wireless Applications and Networking
Lab, Department of Computer Science and Engineering. My research area is Internet of Things
(IoT) and Sensor-Cloud with Healthcare, Agriculture, Smart traffic, and UAV Networks applications.
Prior to my Ph.D., I completed my MS (by Research) from Indian Institute of Technology
Kharagpur, under the same supervisor. I completed my B. Tech in Information Technology from
West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT). After completion of my B. Tech, I worked as a
“Network Engineer” in IntecInfonet, New Delhi. I am also co-founder and director of SensorDrops
Networks Pvt. Ltd.
Sriparna Saha
Associate Professor, Department of
Computer Science and Engineering,
Indian Institute of Technology Patna
Dr. Sriparna Saha is currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer
Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Patna, India. She has authored or co-
authored more than 400 papers. Her current research interests include machine learning, deep
learning, natural language processing, multiobjective optimization and biomedical information
extraction. Her h5-index is 43 and the total citation count of her papers is 9879 (according to
Google-scholar). She is also a senior-member of IEEE, fellow of IETE. She is the recipient of Lt
Rashi Roy Memorial Gold Medal from the Indian Statistical Institute for outstanding performance in
MTech (computer-science), Google-India-Women-in-Engineering-Award-2008, NASI-YOUNG-
SCIENTIST-PLATINUM-JUBILEE-AWARD-2016, BIRD Award-2016, IEI-Young-Engineers'-Award-
2016, SERB-WOMEN-IN-EXCELLENCE-AWARD-2018, SERB Early-Career-Research-Award-
2018, Pattern-Recognition-Letters-Editor-Award -2023, prestigious “Young-Faculty-Research-
Fellowship” under Visvesvaraya-PhD-Scheme for Electronics-&-IT for 5 years (Jan2019-Jan2024),
Fulbright-Nehru Academic and Professional Excellence Fellowships 2024, Humboldt Research
Fellowship, Indo-U.S. Fellowship for Women in STEMM 2018, Erasmus+ mobility grant, DUO-India
fellowship 2020 and CNRS fellowship. . Her name is included in the list of top 2% of scientists of
their main subfield discipline (Artificial Intelligence and Image Processing), across those that have
published at least five papers (a survey conducted by Stanford University) for consecutive 5 years.

M.Tech Admission Eligibility Criteria 2025-26
1. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology

(B.E./B.Tech) in a relevant field from a recognized university.
2. Candidates with degrees in Computer Science, Information Technology,
Electronics, or related fields are preferred, especially for programs like Cloud
Computing & IoT and AI & Data Science
3. While not mandatory, prior work experience in relevant fields may be
advantageous for candidates.

"The Grenadiers". It included digitization of the battalion's data. The
project was completed by students of 2023 batch of bachelor's program.
E-Vidya Vahini
Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSE&L), Jharkhand aims
to create an integrated digital platform called e-Vidyavahini to ensure
robust governance of the school and effective service delivery. e-
Vidyavahini shall serve as single centralized dynamic platform for
monitoring of all key parameters to ensure effective delivery of quality
education to all the schools in the state
Arogya Sahiya
Sahiya (ASHA Workers) in Palamu have been trained on diagnosis of
signs and symptoms of the subjects and on the basis of this training
they are expected to council the subject (case). For their help an Android
Based Mobile Application, has to be developed which upon entering
basic data of the subject suggests the next steps. IIIT Ranchi proposed to
create a platform for the Sahiyas.
