CLIMATE CHANGE
Author: PAGASA

Introduction

Based on our research, this article discusses climate change in the Philippines. It
analyzes how climate change can impact people's lives and health, as well as their
sources of income, such as agricultural production. The article also examines the
effects on coastlines and the critical issue of water supply, which is essential for
people's needs. Additionally, it states that to minimize the effects of climate change in
the Philippines, we must avoid actions that contribute to global warming. The article
emphasizes the importance of preventive measures and methods of adaptation.
Additionally, climate change in the Philippines is largely caused by human activities,
such as burning fossil fuels, generating plastic waste, using rubber materials like tires,
deforestation, and raising livestock. These actions significantly contribute to the
increasing impacts of climate change and rising global temperatures. Climate change
occurs when individuals do not take responsibility for protecting our environment. If
people followed the simple guidelines implemented by the government to prevent such
disasters, we would likely avoid experiencing issues like landslides and the devastating
floods that have become common in our country.

Summary

In conclusion, climate change is a pressing issue, particularly in vulnerable countries

like the Philippines. It is crucial for governments, civil society, and individuals to prioritize
mitigation and adaptation efforts, adopt sustainable practices, promote renewable
energy, and enhance resilience. The Philippines can play a significant role in the global
fight against climate change, safeguarding its people's well-being and securing a
sustainable future. Proactive adaptation plans based on scientific understanding of
potential consequences of human-induced climate change are necessary to effectively
adapt to these challenges.
