TABLE OF CONTENTS
CHAPTER 1
THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND
Introduction
This study will explore how emmersive travel experiences impact the career
preparedness of tvl students. Immersive travel is a growing trend in the travel industry,
offering travelers a deeper, more meaningful experience than a traditional vacation. It goes
beyond simply seeing the sights and encourages travelers to engage with the local culture,
traditions, and way of life. This approach creates a more enriching and fulfilling journey,
fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for the destinations explored.
Based on the study conducted of Roble, D.M.L. (2021). The work readiness of senior
high school students in the Philippines enrolled in the Technical Vocational and Livelihood
(TVL) program, focusing on the alignment between employer expectations and students’
skills. Data was collected from 84 TVL students and 18 employers using a descriptive
correlational method. The results showed that both groups valued skills like collaboration,
critical thinking, and entrepreneurship, but there were notable differences in expectations
regarding occupational health and communication. Additionally, student performance during
work immersion varied by specialization and academic track, but not by gender or
socioeconomic status. These findings suggest that the TVL curriculum may need adjustments
to better meet industry demands and prepare graduates for employment.
As stated by Podolskaya, T., & Volodina, A. (2023). The increasing use of immersive
technologies, such as augmented reality and virtual reality, in the international tourism
industry, accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic. The authors highlight benefits like
allowing potential tourists to virtually explore destinations before booking and helping them
navigate unfamiliar locations. While these technologies may not replace traditional tourism,
the authors suggest that their effective implementation can enhance competitiveness,
particularly as younger generations favor digital experiences.
The study faces several challenges in defining and measuring career preparedness for
TVL students, finding a representative sample, controlling for pre-existing differences,
accounting for other factors influencing career readiness, generalizing findings to all TVL
students, ensuring data availability and quality, and upholding ethical considerations. These
challenges highlight the importance of careful planning, data collection, and analysis to
ensure the study’s reliability and generalizability.
Our rationale for conducting this study is to determine the impact of immersive travel
on the career readiness of students. This research is significant because it will help us
understand the importance of skills development in preparing ourselves for the future. This
study aims to answer questions about the impact of immersive travel experiences on the
career readiness of TVL students. We anticipate that this research will be beneficial to
teachers, students, and curriculum developers. This study aimed to assess the effects of
immersive travel experiences on students’ preparedness for their careers

Students : they will gain knowledge about the value of immersive travel
experiences for their careers inspiring them and preparing them for employment.
Teachers: this study will help them improve their curricula and develop more
effective teaching strategies, leading to better student preparedness.
Principals: Can use this research as evidence to add immersive travel
experiences to the TVL curriculum. This will strengthen the program and prepare
students for their careers.
Guidance Counselors: This research will help guidance counselors better
understand the needs of TVL students and assist them in planning their careers.
Future Researcher: This study will contribute new knowledge and help expand
the existing body of research on immersive travel experiences and career
preparedness.
Scope
The research focuses on the effects of the work immersion program on the students’
performance in NCSHS. This research will limit itself on 50 respondents who are currently
enrolled in the said school and underwent in a work immersion program.
Delimitation
The study will be focusing on the changes happened in each student, especially upon their
communication and social skills, before and after the work immersion program. The
respondents’ individual intellectual ability is not included in this research
Definition of Terms
Essential Skills: are the skills that people need for learning, work and
life.
Career Clarity is understood to mean clearness of thought, intelligibility
about career direction and goals, and having an understanding of self and
environment.
CHAPTER 2
REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES
Local
Global
Based on Hoang, S. D., Dey, S. K., Tučková, Z., & Pham, T. P. (n.d.).
Harnessing the power of virtual reality: Enhancing telepresence and
inspiring sustainable travel intentions in the tourism industry.
Study explored the potential of virtual reality (VR) to enhance
telepresence and encourage both VR use and travel intentions within the
context of sustainable tourism. The researchers conducted an online
survey with 512 local and international tourists in Vietnam after they
participated in a VR experiment. Participants were divided into two
groups: one using VR headsets to experience a sustainable tourist
destination focused on nature, and the other viewing the same destination
on a 2D screen.
The results showed that VR-based tours fostered a greater sense of
telepresence compared to 2D presentations. While VR was not seen as a
replacement for actual travel, participants who used VR reported higher
intentions to use VR in the future and to visit the destination in real life.
This was attributed to their increased telepresence and enjoyment of the
VR experience. The findings suggest that VR can be a valuable tool for
promoting nature-based sustainable tourism, with further research
needed to explore its application in other tourism sectors, including
extreme activities.
Fan, X., Jiang, X., & Deng, N. (2022). Conducted examines the use of
augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) in the tourism sector through a
meta-analytic framework that includes 24 constructs from 65 independent
studies. It identifies “presence” as a key feature influencing tourism experiences,
revealing that its effects can vary directly or indirectly via value perception and
psychological responses. Additionally, factors such as simulation type and social
interaction enhance the impact of presence, while prior visitation negatively
affects it. The research highlights the significance of these findings for the
advancement of AR and VR technologies in tourism.
ASIA
Based on the research of Acut, D. P., Curaraton, E. P., Latonio, G. C., &
Latonio, R. A. C. (2021). Participating in work immersion programs in science and
technology-based industries in the Philippines. The research aimed to assess the
impact of these experiences on students’ skills development and career
preparedness. Twenty-five students underwent an 80-hour work immersion
program, completing tasks assigned by industry supervisors. The evaluation
revealed that most students performed outstandingly, exceeding expectations.
The study identified key skills developed through work immersion, including
teamwork, communication, productivity, initiative, and professionalism. The
researchers concluded that work immersion provides a valuable platform for
students to apply their academic knowledge in real-world settings, fostering their
skills and preparing them for future careers.
Moreover Favila, S. A., Erfe, J. P., Pimentel, M. M., Naval, D. J., Rabina, M.
G., Castro, L., Macascas, C., & Agustin, M. L. (2019).The work immersion is
develop a knowledge-sharing model for senior high school work immersion
programs in the Philippines. The researchers employed a qualitative
developmental design, conducting two phases: foundation and development.
They gathered data through interviews, focus group discussions, and round table
discussions with 96 participants. The analysis revealed key themes related to
adherence to standards, readiness, commitment, decision-making, and
fulfillment. These findings formed the basis for developing the proposed model,
“Ugnayan,” which was finalized using an analysis-feedback method. The

The Respondents
The participants for the stude were the Grade 12 Combo students sy.
2024-2025 who wants to find out how effective immersive travel experiences
were, for their educational and professional growth. The selection of participants
followed simple random sampling wherein students meeting specific criteria.
Sampling Technique
The study involves randomly selected students from New Cabalan Senior
High School, picking 50 Grade 12 COMBO respondents during the school year of
2022-2023
Research Instrument
12 Combo students from New Cabalan Senior High School were surveyed
using questionnaires for this study to find out how effective immersive travel
experiences were for their education and professional growth. Based on the aim
of the study, this questionnaires was created with the intention of exploring the
students’ perspectives and experiences in order to gather useful information for
analysis and interpretation. The respondent uses the following four-point Likert
scale to answer this question: 1 strongly disagree, 2 somewhat disagree, 3
slightly agree, and 4 strongly agree. Researchers can absorb valuable insights
about how these events affect student learning, engagement, and career goals
by using surveys effectively.
