In October 2022, I had the opportunity to represent Komisi untuk Orang Hilang dan
Korban Tindak Kekerasan (KontraS) to attend the Dublin Platform for Human Rights
Defenders in Dublin, Ireland, which was organized by Front Line Defenders. Dublin
Platform is a biennial event providing a truly unique opportunity for human rights
defenders from almost every country in the world to gather in Dublin.

Front Line Defenders hosted the Dublin Platform 2022 in Dublin from 26-28 October,
for the first time in person since 2019. More than 100 human rights defenders from
several countries attended the event. This is my best experience, where I can meet
various kinds of human rights defenders on each of the issues studied. The agenda
also includes many discussions related to success stories as well as challenges and
threats that are often faced by human rights defenders around the world. Apart from
that, we also discussed advocacy and protection strategies, then solidarity with
human rights defenders from around the world.

My visit to Dublin did not stop at the human rights defender’s forum organized by
Front Line Defenders. During the visit, I also held a general meeting with the Shelter
Initiatives colleagues that are provided by ProtectDefenders.eu. After more than 1
year, we had online meetings. Finally, we were able to meet face to face with Shelter
Initiatives colleagues.

It is an honor for me to be able to network with several human rights defenders

around the world on both agendas. The various threats that are often faced by
human rights defenders give me hope that I am not completely alone. A luta
continua!

I am pleased to share that I have been accepted in the 4th ASEAN Youth Initiative
Empowerment Program (AYIEP).

I will be taking an online course on "Human Rights Research in ASEAN" hosted by

the ASEAN Studies Center, Universitas Gadjah Mada in Yogyakarta, Indonesia and
the Strengthening Human Rights and Peace Research and Education in Southeast
Asia/ASEAN in Thailand for the next 4 weeks.

This opportunity will allow me to explore the intersection of environment and human
rights, advocate for vulnerable communities, and expand my network in the pursuit
of climate justice.

Attended a 3-day workshop jointly hosted by the Royal Government of Bhutan in

collaboration with the Secretariat of the UN Climate Change on indicators for the
Global Goal on Adaptation. It has been intensive 3 days of learning, as experts,
parties, and representatives from CSOs, think tanks and academia dwelled on their
experiences of developing existing indicator processes and convened on the extent
to which diverse perspectives have been incorporated into existing adaptation
indicators. Happy to be able to contribute to break-out discussions on how can
indicators be flexible/plural to consider different contexts, among others. I shared my
two cents on how indicators need to be inclusive, understandable and easy to
communicate, while ensuring that local knowledge accumulated through community
consultations can be accounted for while developing metrics.

Heartfelt thanks to YOUNGO for the nomination and the Royal Government of Bhutan
for the support.
