Quantum Botany: The Effects of Quantum Entanglement on Plant Growth

Journal of Theoretical Plant Sciences, Vol. 42, Issue 1, 2024

Abstract

This study explores the possibility of quantum entanglement affecting cellular

communication within plants. Utilizing a controlled environment, we entangled
photon pairs and exposed one of each pair to Arabidopsis thaliana seedlings, while
the other photon was directed to a separate chamber 500 kilometers away. The
hypothesis suggests that quantum coherence between distant cells may influence
plant growth rates and stress resistance.

Introduction

Recent advancements in quantum biology propose that subatomic particles play a role
in biological processes, such as photosynthesis and magnetoreception. However, the
direct application of quantum entanglement in macroscopic organisms like plants
remains unexplored.

Methodology

A total of 100 seedlings were divided into two groups: the entangled photon group
and a control group exposed to non-entangled photons. Growth rates, chlorophyll
content, and enzyme activities were monitored over a 30-day period.

Results

Plants exposed to entangled photons exhibited a 15% increase in growth rate

compared to the control group. Additionally, these plants demonstrated enhanced
resistance to oxidative stress, suggesting a potential link between quantum
coherence and biological signaling.

Conclusion

The findings indicate that quantum entanglement may influence cellular processes in
plants, opening new avenues for research in quantum agriculture.
