HARRY'S BLOG

Hi, I'm Harry and this is the first sentence of my first ever blog! My English teacher
suggested it, and I think it's a great idea. ___ So writing a blog might be a good way to
achieve that. Right now I live with my parents and sister in a house in the centre of a town in
the UK. I go to a secondary school called Westbridge College.
Westbridge College is a friendly place and there aren't too many difficult rules. I like
Maths best, and I'm really keen on sport as well. I play football for the school team, which is
great except for weekend matches. ____ They're for resting! My best friend does basketball
and I'm thinking of taking that up too, if I can find the time.
I'm into other things as well as sport. I'm learning salsa dancing, for example, which is
great fun and very good exercise. I do that on Tuesday evenings. I like IT, too, and I do a lot
of stuff on the Internet. ___ And they actually pay me for it! I learnt the skills I needed at
school, and it's a great way to make a bit of money.
I can't imagine living far away from the town centre. On Saturdays and Sundays my
friends and I quite often meet up in town and then just go round looking in shop windows. It's
fun! ___ Of course we can't always afford to do much, so we often just go to a café and chat.

19 – 29 = 2 30 – 42 = 3 43 – 51 = 4 52 – 60 = 5
I'm 16 so I have to choose which subjects to study next year. It's a hard decision to
make. I definitely want to go to university. ___ My ambition is to be a writer, especially a
film reviewer, but I'm not sure how to get started on my career.
