    Sigunit® -49AF
    Shotcrete Admixture
    Product Sigunit® -49AF is an alkali free accelerator for shotcrete in powder form.
    Description
    Uses Sigunit® -49AF is an accelerator suitable for dry as well as wet spray applications in
    the following main applications:
    Construction

    Q Securing of rock in tunnel construction.


    Q Rock and slope stabilisation.
    Q High quality shotcrete for general construction work.

    The accelerator’s effect depends on cement content, age, type, substrate and
    shotcrete temperature as well as layer thickness and spraying system. In the wet
    spray process, the W/C ratio of the basic concrete mix and in the dry spray process
    the quantity of gauging water are parameters, which influence the acceleration
    effect of Sigunit® -49AF.
    Advantages The following properties distinguish Sigunit® -49AF as shotcrete accelerator:

    Q Alkali free and classified as non-toxic product, which means that Sigunit -49AF,
    as part of the spraying dust, is non caustic.
    Q No strength loss of the accelerated concrete if used correctly.
    Q No additional contamination of mountain and ground water due to washed out
    alkalis.
    Q Measurable reduction of rebound.
    Q Improves bond of shotcrete to rock and concrete, making overhead spraying
    easier.
    Q Sigunit® -49AF is non corrosive.
    Technical Data
    Type Mineral based, alkali free shotcrete accelerator in powder form.
    Colour Light brown Powder.
    Density 1.00 ± 0.05 kg/I.
    Packaging 25 kg bags.
    Storage Store in dry conditions and protected from direct weather influence.
    Shelf life 12 months from date of production if stored properly in original unopened packing.
    Application
    Consumption The most effective dosage must be determined by trial.
    Normally, dosage is between 4% and 7% by weight of binder.
    Application Temperature If shotcrete is to be applied at higher layer thickness, care must be taken that
    temperature of basic concrete is not lower than 15°C. Lower temperatures require
    higher dosage of accelerator.
    Addition Sigunit® -49AF powder is being added with the newly developed and patented
    dosage equipment Aliva AL-405.The following drawing shows the addition diagram
    in dry and wet process applications.

    Important Formulations for dry and wet process depend on type of application and specified
    quality. For the production of the basic concrete for shotcrete applications the
    following Sika® products are normally used:
    Q All Sika® Tard types.
    Q Sikament® -300 or Sikament® -10.
    ®
    Q Sika pumping aids.
    Q Sikafume®-TU, Sikacrete®-L.

    For shotcrete applications Sigunit®-49 AF may be combined with Sika®Tell-100/200.


    The use of Sigunit®-49 AF requires the technically correct installation of dosing and
    conveying equipment. Please contact out technical services.
