What is the output voltage in terms of the inputs?

10kΩ

1kΩ
Vout

V1 V2

Challenge: Make a circuit that produces an output that is

only dependent on the difference, (V1-V2).
Differential amplifier
With correct choices for R3 and R4, we can make this amplify
the difference between V1 and V2.

Homework due next Monday at class time
Extra help on Sunday, 2-4pm, STLC 115

Lab times next week have changed

Final exam: next Friday, 3:30-6:30, in 200-002

By the end of today, you should be able to:

Describe the main components of our ECG

Explain what an instrumentation amplifer

is, and why it's not an op-amp.

You're trying to build an ECG. What
capabilities does your circuit need?
What does it need to be able to do (and not
do) to work?
value = analogRead(PIN)

PIN must be an analong-capable input (A0-A5)

Result is a 10-bit number, representing 0-5V

Differential amplifier, again
How much current flows through V1 and V2?
