SB Supacolor Soft Shell Blocker

Softshell fabrics have specific dye migration issues and require a special blocker.

• Use on softshell fabrics or other fabrics with bad migration problems.

• Use our test transfers to check for migration. Wait at least a 5 days for results.
• Tested to 50+ domestic wash cycles.
• This transfer has less stretch than our normal blocker.

The best transfers for caps and other forms of headwear.

• Suitable for most headwear styles, except ones with waterproof coatings.
• Not suitable for fabrics that will migrate.

constructed in a way to not add significant bulk to the umbrella.
• They are flexible enough to not crack when the umbrella is folded up.
• We recommend you test transfer adhesion and durability.
• We do not recommend these transfers be washed.
• Umbrella Transfers have no stretch - not suitable for garments.

 GARMENT PRESSING INSTRUCTIONS

Before you start

Successful application of Supacolor transfers relies on your equipment being capable of
maintaining heat and pressure consistently. Most of the problems customers experience with
pressing our transfers are because they have not used enough pressure, heat or time. For
garments this is more important, as every time the transfer is washed it is subjected to the most
wear and tear. We recommend the following:

• An air operated heat press. This will provide the most consistent, measurable pressure. Most
supacolor pressing happens at 40-50 psi.

• Supacolor will work with manual presses however you will need to get your pressure dialed
in manually. We recommend a medium to firm pressure. Use the sample transfers provided
to dial in your settings.

• Check your press temperature with an infrared thermometer to ensure the press
temperature reading is correct. Adjust if necessary.

Garment Pressing Instructions

PEEL HOT IMMEDIATELY OR WARM PEEL

• Load the garment into the press and position the transfer.
• Cover with teflon sheet or parchment paper - optional but recommended.
• Press for the recommended time, temp and pressure. The above settings are a
guide. Press as hot and as long as you can without marking the garment.
• When the time is up, open the press and hot peel immediately.
• If there is a glue line present, you can do a post press for 2-5 seconds. This will
help minimise it and seal the transfer.
• Place garment aside to cool before packaging, and wait 24 hours before washing.
Notes
• When peeling and there is some lifting, stop peeling and repress. Supacolor
transfers will not lose opacity from over pressing. For your next transfer, try
increasing the pressure or time until it starts peeling instantly.
• Hoodies and sweatshirts may need a pre-press to remove moisture. We suggest
you test and wash for your local climate settings.
 HEADWEAR AND PROMOTIONAL

Headwear Pressing Instructions

Press Temp: 285˚F - 300˚F
HW Press Time: 10-15 Seconds
Pressure: 2.75 bar / 40psi

PEEL HOT IMMEDIATELY OR WARM PEEL

• Load the cap into the press and position the transfer. Use the appropriate sized
platen to make sure the transfer has consistent pressure. If required use heat tape
to secure the transfer placement.
• Cover with teflon sheet or felt to stop bruising. If you use felt increase the press
time.
• Press for the recommended time, temp and pressure. The above settings are a
guide. Press as hot and as long as you can without marking the cap.
• When the time is up, open the press and hot peel immediately.
• If there is a glue line present, you can do a post press for 2-5 seconds. This will
help minimise it and seal the transfer.

Promotional Pressing Instructions

Press Temp: 260˚F - 320˚F
PR Press Time: 10 Seconds
Pressure: 2.75 bar / 40psi

PEEL HOT IMMEDIATELY OR WARM PEEL

• Load the item into the press and position the transfer.

• For best results on umbrellas, try a pre-press for 4 seconds, press the transfer for
6 - 8 seconds and do a post press for 4 seconds.
• When the time is up, open the press and hot peel immediately.
• If there is a glue line present, you can do a post press for 2-5 seconds. This will
help minimise it and seal the transfer.
 ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS

Artwork Requirements
To give you the best possible Supacolor experience the artwork you supply us is very
important. How your transfer prints is directly related to the quality of your artwork.
We do not provide an art service to make changes to logos. The file must be setup
exactly how you want it to print.

Here is a quick guide of what we require.

Vector Art
Vector art is the best format for you to supply us artwork. The crisp clean edges that
Supacolor can reproduce works best with vector files.

• Supply artwork in PDF format to desired print size.

• Outline all fonts. (in Corel this is convert to curves)

• Convert all strokes to objects (In Corel this is convert outline to object)

• Pantone PMS must be applied to the file. All other colors to be CMYK.

• Do not use custom spot colors. Convert them to Pantone PMS or CMYK.

Bitmaps
Some art is impossible to make as a vector file. Supacolor can replicate up to 900dpi
so the higher resolution your file the better the transfer will look.

• Supply artwork in .PNG or .PSD format to desired print size.

• 300dpi and above is best, but the minimum is 150dpi
• Supply design on a transparent background. The background must be
removed.
• We need a sharp edge with clean pixels. If not make a work-path /
clipping mask.
• Do not use custom spot colors. Convert them to Pantone PMS or CMYK.
 FAQ

What makes Supacolor unique?

Supacolor has very few limitations on what we can print. Our process allows us to print millions of
colors and gradients to reproduce any logo, no matter how complex. Print fine text as small as 1 mm
tall without requiring ugly traps or borders.

How durable is Supacolor?

Supacolor has been wash tested to survive 50 plus washes. We stopped testing at 70 washes. The
transfers are made to last.

How do I order Supacolor?

Supacolor is available for purchase through our online portal on our website. Customers are requested
to enter the orders online to expedite the processing of a job and to minimize mistakes.

What do I need to know before I order Supacolor?

You will need to know the fabric composite for the garment or product to be decorated along with the
color of it. This is important so that we can construct the best Supacolor transfer for your project.

Does Supacolor have a minimum order quantity?

The minimum order quantity is 20 pieces per design. You cannot split the minimum between multiple
designs or accommodate more than one design within a print area.

How is Supacolor priced?

Supacolor is priced based on size, quantity and transfer type. We only sell custom printed transfers
with application instructions ready to be pressed. We do not sell transfers by the sheet or by the gang.
The Supacolor pricing model is easy to understand. We have taken the complexity out of ordering heat
transfers. No more calculations, hidden fees or rush charges.

Is Supacolor Eco-Friendly?
Yes, Supacolor uses water-based inks and produced without harsh or toxic chemicals. Our PET film
that we print on is recyclable.

Does Supacolor print CMYK, RGB or PMS color match?

Supacolor’s default print process is CMYK. We actually run a six-color process that gives Supacolor
transfers more range in the color spectrum. We have the ability to Pantone (PMS) color match. All you
need to do is indicate the colors in your order. We do not print RGB files so your artwork will need to
be set up for either CMYK or with PMS colors.

Are the template sizes given the only sizes available or do you offer custom sizes?
The sizes that we provide are for price categories only. Your design can be any custom size up to 11.7”
x 16.5” (our largest print area). Select the smallest size category that accommodates your design, then
select the desired quantity to know your price on the table.

Do you supply heat transfer paper/sheets?

We do not supply materials or the machinery to make Supacolor.

Do you make the t-shirts with the logos already on them and sell wholesale?
We do not provide pressing services. We just sell Supacolor transfers.

Does Supacolor provide art proofs?

Supacolor does not provide an art proof as a part of its ordering process. Our goal is to produce your
transfers as quickly as possible. Our process is very accurate. As long as you upload great artwork,
we’ll make great transfers.

What are my shipping options?

Supacolor offers limited shipping options. If you are within 1-day ground shipping of one of our
facilities, we will ship ground. If you are more than 1-day ground shipping, we will automatically ship
2-day air, unless you tell to ship Next Day Air. We will bill you for shipping, unless you provide us with
your shipping account details.

Do you ship internationally?

We have factories in New Zealand and in the UK. Please get in touch and we will work out the best
facility to service your needs.
