Theme: Radiant Jewel: The Woman God Uses

Text: Isaiah 62:3 - "Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord, and a
royal diadem in the hand of thy God."

The Woman God Uses

Genesis 2:18; Proverbs 31:10

God from the beginning has placed a great premium on the usefulness of the woman.
As He said in Genesis 2:18, 'It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make
him a help meet for him. She is a helper in the marriage settings: a wife, a mother, a
sister, a grandmother, she is a whole lot, a role model, an example to be followed

Proverbs 31:10 asks about who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above
rubies. A woman is a loaded individual whom God can use. We have had in the Bible
the stories of various women who made impact in their generation – Eve, Lot’s wife,
Sarah, Jezebel, Mary, Esther, Ruth etc.

To be a woman God uses, one must have a relationship with God. The question is,
what kind of relationship exists between you and your Maker? (2 Timothy 2:20-21)

(2 Timothy 2:20) In a great house, there are not only vessels of gold and of silver but
also of wood and of earth, and some to honor, and some to dishonor.

Today we are looking at vessels unto honor in God's hands – Radiant Jewels, as Isaiah
62:3 tells us: 'Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord, and a royal
diadem in the hand of thy God.'

If this will happen, then verse 21 of 2 Timothy 2 must be: if a man (woman) therefore
purges himself (herself) from these (profane and vain babblings, ungodliness in any
form), he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified and meet for the Master's use and
prepared unto every good work.
The Woman God Uses
We shall be looking at the topic under 3 subheadings:

Commitment and consecration – ruth

Humility and Favor – Esther

Godly Fear and Reference – Joseph

1. Commitment and Consecration

Ruth gave it all up to become a royal diadem and a crown of glory in the hand
of the LORD.

Ruth 1: 16–18

She gave up the idols of her father’s home, she gave up old sinful friends and
companions, she had enjoyed relationship with. She even gave up helps and
assistance she might have enjoyed from ungodly relatives like uncles, aunts and
cousins. She made up her mind to follow the way of life, to serve the LORD GOD of
Israel the only true and living GOD.

She didn’t know what was lying ahead of her, yet she followed. She had strong
conviction in her that the path of the just shines more and more unto the perfect day.
She was a woman of strong faith.

If you’re going to be a woman used of GOD like ruth, you must possess these qualities

a) She was a woman of strong determination – (Ruth 1: 16–17). Your mind must
be made up, come what may. (Joshua 24:15-16; Romans 8:35-39). You must
be a woman of strong determination.
b) She was a woman of strong conviction – Ruth 1: 16-17. She didn’t have any
doubt in her heart about what truth. After all the human realities that Naomi
placed before her and her sister-in-law Orpah, she was not moved, her faith
was not based on circumstances but on conviction. If you are not fully
persuaded you cannot follow CHRIST always to the end. Therefore, search
yourself, why are you in CHRIST? Is it because you are sure there is no other
way or because your benefactor is a believer? Is it because the man, your
prospective suitor is in the church, are you just in the church or in the LORD?
You must be able to answer.
When Orpah saw what was at stake for her humanly speaking she turned back
to what she has left behind and that became the end of her story
Prayer- My life’s story will not end like Orpah’s
c) She was a woman of strong faith – She heard of the GOD of Israel and what he
wroth on behalf of his people and she believed – It turned out to be unto her
according to her faith – Luke 1:45. “And blessed is she that believed for there
shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the LORD”.
I am grateful to GOD today, evr grateful because HE is faithful. Ever faithful.
How is your faith in GOD – Romans 4:20-21 “Abraham staggered not at the
promise of GOD through unbelief, but was strong in faith, giving glory to GOD.
[vs21] He was fully persuaded that what he had promised, He was able to
perform.” Yoruba version says (O le ni igbagbo) – This are heroes of faith today.
Take GOD for HIS word. He doesn’t fail.

a) Strong Determination
b) Strong Conviction
c) Strong Faith

2. Esther – An Epitome of Humility That Works with Favor.

Those two words are jolly friends. They Walk and work together. (Esther 2:2)
There were many fair young virgins, beautiful ladies but if it were for beauty alone
Vashti wouldn’t have needed a replacement.

a. The king deserves honor from the queen – it is a thing of honor to the
princes when they see their king is honored by his queen – (Esther 1: 15-
16)
b. The queen must be a good example to all the women in the kingdom –
(Esther 1: 17-18).

There's the need for everyone to understand that God will never suffer any loss. It is
not difficult for Him to get an alternative. God will always use a woman that will serve
HIS divine purpose. A woman like Esther.

King Ahasuerus was counseled by his wise men to give the royal estate of Vashti to
another that is better than she is v19. And the decree was published against Vashti.

Whatever you are doing for the Lord today, count it as a privilege. That position may
not suffer without you. Appreciate God for counting you worthy and do the best you
can. His grace is sufficient for you.

We see the humility of Esther in chapter 2 verse 15-20. What was obtainable was in
verse 12-14. Other ladies were such lousy and probably despiteful, even when the
experienced custodians would suggest to them what to use, they would rather dictate
their choices, maybe with arrogancy. You can imagine how would be left alone to her
own way.
But what do we learn from Esther?

a. She was such a calm, thoughtful and humble young lady (Esther 2:8-9,
vs15-17).
b. She was lovable by her gracefulness even towards the seven maidens
that were given her. She was given the best place in the house of the
women.
c. Because Esther was thoughtful, she didn't despise what influence,
Hegai, the chamberlain could wield in her becoming the next queen. She
was submissive. She didn't dictate to Hegai like all other virgins. She didn't
despise the experience of the elders. She allowed the keeper of the women
to use her professionalism to present her to the King - whatever She
appointed that is what Esther used. And the result is in vs17.

When you allow humility to open the door for you, you can be sure favor will
welcome you.

Pray this prayer for yourself:

LORD, let humility open the door for me, let favor welcome me. Psalm 25:9
says the meek will he guide in judgement; and the meek will he teach his
way.
d. Esther's obedience to her godly uncle is noteworthy - She did exactly as
Mordecai commanded her v.20.
Such a woman will honour the King when she becomes the queen unlike
Vashti.
She would be a good example to the Kingdom women.
She is a beautiful replacement for a Vashti like David was for Saul.

Our heavenly King is incomparable to earthly heathen Ahasuerous. He

deserves an incomparable honour and obedience from his chosen ones. Thus,
the LORD deserves more from you.

I Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation.

3. Godly fear & Reference - Joseph.
The woman the LORD will use must be characterized by godly fear and
reverence.

Isaiah 66:2, “…that trembleth at my word.”

Gen 39:8-9 Joseph said how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin
against God?

Temptations will come and are coming every day. In the time of Joseph, it came
in form of Potiphar's wife. Vs10 says “It came to pass that she spake to Joseph
Day after day that he hearkened not unto her, to lie with her, or to be with her.
Day after day, it also comes today, this time around not in form of Potiphar's
wife but it comes in form of pornography, in form of sinful partners - Colleague
at work, in the neighborhood with sinful suggestions.

But Joseph hearkened not unto her, to be with her. He left his garment and ran
for his dear life. His dream must come to pass – He saw himself a Royal diadem
in GOD’S hand - the prison was a pathway to glory. That a dream and reverance
for God, only materialise through GODLY fear and reverence for God.

Do you fear God in all your dealings?

With humility and the fear of GOD are riches, honour and life. (Proverbs 22:4.)

If you are living in sin this is another chance to be free. Jesus is interested in
you still. He wants to use you. He is waiting to save you

Are you a backslider - Call on him now? Tell him "Father I am coming home"

If you are making a turn today a turning point from your sinful and
backslidden state, you can call on the LORD now.

Seek him while he may be found - a time will come you won't find him.

A time is coming he won't hear. Call him now he will still accept you.

Anyone who is reconciling to God today should pls see any of our leaders at
the end of the programme today for further assistance.
