1. Objective:
Construction of MCR BLD using approved material as per RC Guideline and Specification
The intent of this document is to provide a complete Method Statement for the use of materials,
equipment, tools and plants, It includes the manpower and construction methodology in
compliance with RC requirements, drawings and technical specification with safety measures and
quality control.
2. Responsibilities
Construction Manager – will be the one to plan and coordinate all the activity in the site
and he will be responsible for coordinating with all other department as well.
Site Engineer - will be the one to implement the instruction of the Construction Manager
in the site, he will also directly supervise constantly the manpower and equipment
working in the area and implement all safety regulation and precaution set by the safety
personnel.
Safety Manger – Will be responsible for managing day to day activities and will identify
hazards, evaluate risks, advise safe and best practices for the safety of all personals.
Safety Officer – will report directly to safety manager, and will assist him to organise the
site as per RC approved procedures
Excavation Competent Person – Will be available at the site, and will advise the
construction procedure of excavation and other activities in order to keep safety first.
Supervisor – will be the one to supervise and assign the works as per schedule
.
Carpenters – will be the one to install and remove the shuttering.
Mason – will be the one to perform the concrete works such as patching,
surface preparation and to install grouting.

Risk Assessment
Information to Personnel
All the manual workers that will be working in the site will be informed and reminded by
conducting morning tool box meeting in order to continuously remind them of the existing safety
risk and it will be handled by the designated site supervisor and sometimes with the presence of
the safety personnel.
Emergency Procedure
The following are the safety procedure that will be implemented in case of accident.
In case of traffic accident or person hit by the equipment notify immediately the police and
emergency crew do not engage in moving the person who are injured.
Emergency contact numbers will be prominently posted on bulletin board.
First Aid box will be readily available on site.
Permits Requirement
The following are the required permit before implementing the activity:
Encroachment permit
Work permit (Excavation permit, Backfilling permit & etc)
Hot work permit
Transport Permit
Work at Height Permit

ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES
One possible risk to the environment is oil spillage may be due to equipment breakdown. If and when
this will happen immediately contained the area of contamination then remove the contaminated
soil. In order to avoid this incident proper maintenance procedure for the equipment shall be
implemented.
Other possible risk to environment is garbage and debris accumulated thru-out the construction
activity, for this matter collection bin shall be used and proper disposal and housekeeping shall be
done.
Excess concrete will be dumped in RC designated dumping areas
5. Work Procedures:
An access road will be provided for utility vehicle and heavy transportation for site construction and
a site lay down for storing the delivered materials required for the project.
Install soft barricades with rope line and warning tape around the work site.
To control the dust in access road, regular spraying of water will be provided.
There will be one way traffic in operation to access road, with a signed speed limit of 20kmph.
Traffic sign and warning sign will be established in all the required area which will be written in
Arabic and English.
Traffic signs will be installed at approaches to site and on site, parking areas and elsewhere as needed
to direct construction and affected public traffic.
Flag person shall be provided to regulate traffic when construction operations or traffic encroach on
public traffic lanes.
Barricade and safety pole will be installed around the work site to keep public away from moving
equipment during construction activities, cautionary signboards in Arabic and English languages
will be posted along work site.
Hard Barricades will be installed along the road highway with early warning devices and traffic signs
will be provided as per RC Roads Dept. in Arabic and English languages.
Barricade or rope line for safety for separation of machine/ heavy equipment from the workers
during the demolition and excavation
Provide hard barricading and roping line and warning sign near the slope of demolished existing
structure and excavated area, to aware the operator its limit and to the worker/personnel on site.

Construction of substations buildings
Dewatering System
As the Basement foundation is probably lower than water table level, therefore dewatering system is
required and considered as an important part of the entire execution. To draw out water a sump pit
will be made below the working level. The water contained in the sump pit can be pumped out by
means operation of the Submersible Pumps at the bottom of pit. The outlet of the pump will towards
on a settlement basin within the vicinity where location will be prior planning.
Stake and layout the area to be excavated including the clearance for the slope according to the
depth of the excavation.
Slopes of excavation shall be cut at the angle of repose for the soil conditions.
All spoil material excavated must be kept a distance away from the edge equal to the depth of the
excavation.
During excavation maintain the minimum distance from the slope of existing structure at least 2
meters from moving equipment. Barricades and warning signs shall be identified at the excavation.
Stakes, control survey points, and benchmarks shall be established and maintained during
construction activities.
The bottom of the excavation shall be kept free from over saturation. In no case shall the soil be
scrapped and dug by equipment near to the bedding formation level as the result of the disturbance
of the material below.
No filling materials shall be placed until all the concrete placement and construction are completed
below the elevation of finished grades.
The surface of the subsoil to receive filling shall be cleaned and prepared as specified. All
formworks, trash and debris shall be removed from the excavation.

Excavation permit will be obtained from Safety department.
Excavation will be inspected daily by competent person for ensuring proper method and
proper handling of buried services, if any.
Means of access will be provided every 7.6 m where workers are working.
Barricade and safety pole will be installed around the Excavation Area.

raked out and cleaned.
Site Clean up
Properly dispose the demolished materials. Demolished material shall not be allowed to accumulate
on site.
Remove and transport debris and rubbish in a manner that will prevent spillage adjacent to the working
area.
Leave site clean, neat, and orderly and in condition to begin new construction.
Remove all tools used, equipment and materials from the demolition site upon completion of work.
Site Welfare
Welfare facilities on site shall be provided like rest areas, toilet or washrooms, shaded area,
chilled water dispensing area, smoking area
Site Restoration
Grade site to required elevation and profile and clean the area.
Clean and repair damages caused by installation and construction activities use for temporary works.
Restore existing and permanent facilities used during construction to original or better condition.
