TEC TRIUMPH STAND KIT-

Bonneville/Thruxton/Scrambler/SE

Important, Safety first, please ensure stand is

fitted and checked before use by competent person
or mechanic. Please ensure bike is supported and
secured correctly during stand fitment and all
safety precautions are made to avoid the bike
falling over and being damaged or falling on you!
With care it is possible to fit the centre stand
whilst the bike is on its side stand in 15minutes.

After fitment have a friend assist for a few

operations of putting the bike on and off the
stand to familiarise yourself with the operation.

A guide to fitment is suggested as below.

- Tools required are 17mm, 14mm, 13mm
spanner/sockets, extension bar, 6mm & 8mm Allen
Keys.

1. Assemble bolt and spring as shown below, mount spring to frame of
bike with the bolt. Use the 8mm hole in chassis located just below lower
chain run approx 70mm forward and above r/handstand mount hole. Tighten
nyloc nut securely, allow some free movement of the spring.

2. Test fit domed headed 10mm bolt and spacer with collar to right-
hand stand hole as shown below. (Head of bolt must be to outside of bike
or it will foul spring). With bolt ready to fit, hook spring to stand
and pull-down stand to push through bolt, fit washer and nut LOOSELY at
this stage! Note that both stand lugs go to right side of frame lugs.
(Note added as many bikes are not like this arrangement).

3. Fit 10mm bolt and spacer to l/hand mount and tighten both the left
and right-hand stand pivot bolts firmly but not securely. At this stage,
the stand should be free on its pivots, if the stand is binding then one
of the top-hat bearings will require spacing out from the frame, slacken
the left-hand bolt, if the stand stops binding then remove bolt and fit
packing washer behind top-hat bearing, this should alleviate the issue,
retighten all bolts.

4. Fit rubber stop to hole on l/hand silencer bracket (use soapy water
or silicone spray lubricant) and fit and adjust 8mm stop bolt in
operating arm and adjust to required clearance. On scrambler or bikes
with aftermarket exhausts fit the rubber to the stop bracket and fit to
the inside of the L/hand rear footrest bolt.

5. On bikes with aftermarket exhausts you may need to remove their

side stand stop bracket to fit the new main stand, if so, pass a cable
tie through the short piece of rubber tube provided, then pass the tie
around the frame, close to the side stand pivot bolt. This will act as a
stop for the stand to stop it retracting too far and to prevent it
rattling.

6. Check clearance to tyre (runs close on one side this is normal) and
chain and lubricate pivots with spray grease (chain lubricant works
well).
