Rattlesnake, Mouse and Clever Coyote
It was evening in the desert. Mouse was looking for food to eat. When Mouse ran
past a rock, he heard a voice. It was Rattlesnake. Rattlesnake
was trapped under a big rock. “Please push the rock and let me
go out. I won’t eat you after I go out, I promise.”, Rattlesnake
said. Mouse pushed the rock. The rock rolled over.
Rattlesnake came out. Mouse saved Rattlesnake.
“Thank you, Mouse! I was under that rock for a long time. I
am very hungry now! I want to eat you.”, Rattlesnake said. “I’ve saved your life. You
can’t eat me.”, Moused shouted.
Coyote trotted by. Mouse said,”Coyote, help me. Rattlesnake was trapped under a
rock. I pushed the rock away and saved her life. Now she wants to eat me. That’s so
unfair!”.
Coyote was clever. He pretended that he was stupid because he wanted to trick
Rattlesnake. Rattlesnake was trapped under the rock again.
