The India–Pakistan cricket often termed as the El Clasico

in cricket. This rivalry is one of the most intense sports
rivalries in the world. But when these two meet on the
cricket field, the game is often overshadowed by the icy
relations between the two neighbours, which have fought
several wars against each other over the last 75 years. The
two sides played their first match after independence in the
year 1952.When Pakistan toured India for a two test match
series. Later on limited over series have been played ever
since, although a number of planned tours by both sides
have been cancelled due to political factors. No cricket
was played between the two countries between 1962 and
1977 due to two major wars in 1965 and 1971, , and
the 1999 Kargil War and the 2008 Mumbai terrorist
attacks have also interrupted cricketing ties between the
two nations. An India-Pakistan cricket match has been
estimated to attract up to one billion viewers, according to
TV ratings firms and various other reports. The 2011 World
Cup semi-final between the two teams attracted around
988 million television viewers. Tickets for the first contest
match between India and Pakistan in 2015 world cup held
in Australia were sold out within 12 minutes of going on
sale setting a record for International Cricket Council
history stating the intensity of match.
India and Pakistan met in the 8 edition of the T20 World

Cup in 2022, at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on October
23, 2022. With the country was lit up for Diwali, and it was
India’s time to take revenge for their loss against Pakistan
exactly a year ago in last edition's T20 World Cup. In the
Group 2 match of super 12, India elected to field first
against Pakistan and both the team were balanced and
eager to perform. Mohammad Rizwan (wicket
keeper/batsman) and Babar Azam (captain of Pakistan
cricket team) were the openers for Pakistan, we had
Bhuvneshwar Kumar starting from the Indian deck ,the
first over ends with score of 1 without any loss .Second
over was bowled by Arshdeep Singh who removes
Pakistani captain at the very first ball of second over.
Arshdeep Singh was successful in removing both the
openers within the first 4 overs and Pakistan was in a deep
trouble, Mohammad Rizwan departed with the score of 4
runs of 12 balls and Babar azam with 0 of 1 .Shah Masood
and ifitkar ahmed stitched a partnership together of 76
runs of 50 balls.Mohmaad shami was successful in
removing ifitkar ahmed at the score of 51 from 34 balls
with the score of 91 of 3 from 12.2 overs. However,
another mini-collapse saw Pakistan slide to 115/6 with the
loss of Shadab Khan (5 runs of 6 balls), Haider Ali (2 runs
of 4 balls) and Mohammad Nawaz (9 runs of 6
balls) .Hardik Pandya was the reason behind these
wickets. A couple of lusty blows from Shaheen Shah Afridi
(16*) helped them reach 159/8.Indian openers KL Rahul
and Rohit Sharma (Captain of Indian deck) come out to
chase the target of 160 runs from 120 balls .Naseem shah
removes KL Rahul(4 runs of 8 balls) in the last ball of
second over.Haris Rauf successfully removes the Indian
captain for a low score of 4 runs from 7 balls and India
was in a deep trouble with the score of 10 runs from 3.2
overs and with the loss of 2 wickets .Virat Kohli and
Suryakumar Yadav on strike. Suryakumar Yadav hits
Naseem shah for couple of boundaries which lights the
hope of Indian fans. Suryakumar Yadav (15 runs of 10
balls) departs and the power play comes to an end with
score of 31 runs with loss of 3 wickets .Axar Patel has
been promoted up in the order to stich a good partnership
with Virat, but Unfortunately he to loses his wicket in a
run out and India in a quick succession just after the
fourth break through within the 7th over and a low score of
33.Hardik Pandya comes out to Bat with Virat Kohli.
Hardik Pandya then steadied the ship along with Virat
Kohli, but the required run rate kept on rising. At the end
of 10th over India needed 115 runs of 60 balls with
required run rate of 12 runs per over.in the 12th over
Hardik Pandya scored 20 runs of that over to bring the
required run rate under control and at the end of 15th over
India’s score was 100 runs with the loss of 4 wickets .It
was time for both the batsman to hit some big hits to bring
back the required run rate under control .in the over 16th
and 17th both the batsman struggled to get some big hits
and required run rate was over 15 runs per over .18th and
the most crucial over of the game ,Virat hits Shaheen Shah
Afridi for 17 runs and scores his Half century of 43 balls.
Hardik Pandya on strike for the 19th over against Haris
Rauf struggled for the first 4 balls and both of them just
made 3 runs of 4 balls, With India needing 28 off the last 8
balls, Kohli took matters into his own hands, going after
Haris Rauf, Kohli struck back-to-back sixes off Haris Rauf's
delivery and brings down the required run rate to 16 runs
of the last over. Babar azam was out of the bowling
options and was forced to give the ball in the hands of
Mohammad Nawaz. Nawaz, the last time he bowled
against India in the last over did not have a lot to defend
and he failed to do so.
This time he had got 15 runs to defend .He removes

Hardik Pandya at the very first ball of the over and breaks
the partnership of 113 runs and Hardik Pandya departs
with a good knock of 40 runs of 37 balls .Dinesh Karthik
makes his way into the ground to score 16 runs of 5 balls.
Dinesh karthik comes down the track but only managed to
get a single with 15 runs of 4 balls and Kohli on strike,
Kohli plays for two runs and big hit needed now ,Virat hits
this ball for six and it’s No ball called as it was above the
waist height, India needs 6 runs of 3 balls ,the ball goes
over the tramline and it’s a wide ball ,now 5 runs need of
the 3 balls and the free hit continues ,kohli was bowled
but it was a free hit and they run 3 runs of the bye and
India inching close to a win with 2 runs needed of 2 balls ,
another twist in this chase Dinesh gets stumped on the 5th
ball with Ashwin on strike with two runs needed of 1 ball,
last ball of the inning comes up ,OH! No!!it’s a wide and
the scores have levelled with India needing 1 run of the
last ball ,Ashwin hits the winning runs and India have won
the age old rivalry. Virat Kohli was in tears, he was the
architect of this chase and he deserved all the praise. Not
only was the stadium packed, with an attendance of over
ninety thousand, the match expectedly broke viewership
records yet again.
Virat Kohli silenced critics, reinstating his standing as one

of the best batsmen globally. This incredible game will be
etched in the hearts of the audience as a symbol of
unwavering persistence, match-winning performances,
and the sweet taste of a hard-earned victory. This knock
elucidated Kohli's international standing as one of the
world's best chasers, as acknowledged by the Indian team
captain Rohit Sharma. Kohli was named Player of the
Match for his 82* off 53 balls.
