PART 2

NARRATIVE REPORT

In line with the Division Memorandum No. 74, s. 2023, “Conduct of CT

2023 Quarterly National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED)”, the Department
of Education ensures the awareness and preparedness on the impending threat
of the inevitable occurrence of an earthquake. Pamatawan Integrated School
guarantees the necessary preparations of the earthquake drill with its proper
documentation.

Participating in an earthquake drill is an essential step in ensuring the

safety of everyone in the workplace. As a DRRM Coordinator, I had the privilege
of taking part in a drill at school. During the drill, the learners, teachers, and all
school personnels were all asked to take cover under the desks and hold on to
them for a minute. The alarm was loud enough to be heard from all corners of
the building, and everyone followed the instructions to evacuate the building in
an orderly and timely manner. After the drill, each classroom had a debriefing
session where teachers discussed what we did right and what we could improve
upon in case of a real earthquake. This session was particularly helpful as it
allowed us to understand the importance of being prepared for such
emergencies. Overall, the drill was a success, and it helped us prepare for any
future earthquake emergencies.

The drill was conducted at 2:00 pm and ended at 2:15 pm. Everyone in the
school participated in it. It's always important to be prepared for natural
disasters like earthquakes, and participating in earthquake drill is a great way to
ensure that you know what to do in case of an actual earthquake.
