3D ANIMATION
Fundamentals of
Animation STOP MOTION
While 2D animation has been around since the 1800s, three-dimensional graphics developed with the move toward fully computerized
graphics in the middle of the 20th century.
Later which led to Toy Story’s the first ever 3d animated movie by Pixar was still a start-up run by Steve Jobs and a team of graphic
designers who had never created anything in 3D beyond short films and commercials. They managed to pull it off—and the film made
over $360 million during its time in Theaters.
3 IMPORTENT STEPS OF 3D ANIMATION
Only once the above steps are complete will a 3D animator move on
to the actual animation process. At this point, they can take a 3D
object and make it move. There are different ways to do this, from
using keyframes—moving the object on a frame-by-frame basis—to
using motion capture data.
Stop motion animation is an advanced flipbook-style form of animation but using real life props (Clay, objects, water, wool,
puppets, etc.) It involves photographing and then physically manipulating objects within your frame. As each frame is
played in sequence, the technique creates the effect of an object moving.
Clay animation or claymation, Pixilation is a stop motion technique Cutout animation is a form of stop-
sometimes plasticine animation, is in which live actors are used as a motion animation using flat

So can you identify which type of animation is used in this example ?
FLIP BOOK ANIMATION
flip book is also called as kineograp, is a booklet with a series of images that very
gradually change from one page to the next, so that when the pages are viewed in quick
succession, the images appear to animate by simulating motion.
The oldest flip book appeared on 18 March 1868, when it was patented by John
Barnes Linnett under the name Kineograph ("moving picture"). They were the
first form of animation to employ a linear sequence of images rather than circular
(as in the older phenakistoscope)
5 Step to make a flip book
2. Start at the bottom right. If you draw your image too close
to the spine of your book, it won’t be visible while flipping.
3. Draw the next image. Draw the sequence in the same area
as the previous sequence, but change its movement slightly.
You can place a lightbox beneath the stack of paper to see the
initial image better, creating a tracing paper effect.
5 Step to make a flip book
5.Flip the book. After all drawings are down you can flip
the pages by grabbing the book tightly and flipping single
page out of it by releasing pressure by thumb on the
pages.
