Host 1: May I request everyone to sit down. Now at this juncture, may we call on Mr. Christian
Dee E. Hero to introduce the theme and objectives of this event.

[Speech Hero]

a meal in any Filipino home.

Introducing Filipino Kakanin Delicacies

Host 1: Now partner, let’s talk about the stars of our meryenda today—the kakanin! What do we
have?

Host 2: Yes partner, we actually have five kakanin delicacies, first we have the kutchinta

[Description: Kutchinta is a soft, sticky rice cake made from rice flour, lye water, and brown
sugar, giving it a slightly chewy texture and a distinctive golden-brown color. Often served in
small, bite-sized portions, it’s typically topped with freshly grated coconut or cheese for added
flavor and texture. Its mildly sweet taste makes it a popular snack or dessert in the Philippines.]

Host 1: The second one we have Puto cheese

[Description: Puto Cheese is a light and fluffy steamed rice cake, traditionally made from rice
flour and sugar. This popular Filipino snack is known for its soft, delicate texture and its slight
sweetness. Topped with a slice of cheese, which adds a savory contrast to the sweet cake. ]

Host 1: Do you know partner that puto Cheese is often served at parties and festive gatherings.
It's commonly paired with dishes like dinuguan?

Host 2: Oh really? It’s quite interesting but I don’t think I can imagine eating puto cheese paired
with dinuguan. Have you tried once tho?

Host 1: Yess ofcourse, my grandma made it for me.

Host 2: Wow that’s so nice for you, I would also like to try it someday! Now for the 3 rd kakanin
we have Biko
[Description: Biko is a sticky rice cake made with glutinous rice, coconut milk, and brown sugar.
This sweet and dense dessert has a rich coconut flavor, often topped with latik or a layer of
caramelized coconut milk for added sweetness. Biko is commonly prepared during special
occasions and celebrations, particularly in Filipino households, and is enjoyed for its chewy
texture and indulgent flavor.

Host 1: The fourth one we have Sapin-sapin

[Description: Sapin-Sapin is a multi-layered, colorful rice cake that features different flavors in
each layer. It’s made from glutinous rice, coconut milk, and sugar, with flavors like ube (purple
yam), jackfruit, and coconut. ]

Host 2: And last but not the least we have Ube sticky Rice

[Description: Ube Sticky Rice, also known as Ube Kalamay, is a sweet rice dessert made from
glutinous rice and ube (purple yam) that gives it a distinct purple color and a subtly sweet, nutty
flavor. The rice is cooked with coconut milk and sugar, resulting in a sticky, rich dessert. Often
garnished with latik]

Host 2: These kakanin delicacies will have a bite that brings with a story of tradition and love,
whether it's the soft puto that’s perfect with a cup of hot coffee or a dinuguan?? or the chewy
kutchinta that reminds us of celebrations and special gatherings.

Host 2: And soon, you’ll get to experience this yourself! But before we dig in, we’ve prepared a
