A BRIEF IDEA ON

VIOLATION IN IPR
WHAT IS
01
IPR???
IPR is an acronym
for Intellectual
Property right.
EXPLAIN
IPR?
When someone owns a house or a
vehicle, we say they own that
property. Similarly, an original idea
belongs to the person who came up
with it, and this is called intellectual
property. It includes inventions, art,
designs, names, and logos. The
creator or owner of intellectual
property can earn recognition or
financial benefits from it.
Intellectual property is legally
protected through copyrights,
patents, trademarks, and other
means.
WHAT EXACTLY IS
VIOLATION OF IPR?

Violation of IPR is the

infringement or misuse of the
intellectual property rights of
others without their
permission or authorization.
Violation of IPR can have
negative consequences, such
as legal action, monetary
damages, loss of reputation,
loss of innovation, etc.

CHEAT DUE TO ETHICAL
REASONS
With the Internet, we can
easily copy and share text,
pictures, and videos. However,
presenting someone else's
work as our own is called
plagiarism. This includes not
mentioning the source or
creator when copying content.
It is also plagiarism if we
present an existing idea or
product as new without giving
credit. Plagiarism is a serious
ethical offense and can be
considered fraud. Even if
content is publicly available,
citing the author or source is
essential to avoid plagiarism
COPYRIGHT
INFRINGEMENT

Copyright
infringement means
using another
person’s work,
without permission
or without paying
for it, if it is being
sold.
Copyright infringement occurs
when we use someone else's
work without their permission or
without paying for it if it is
being sold. For example,
downloading an image from the
Internet and using it in a project
without the owner's permission
is a violation of copyright, even
if we give reference to the
image. Just because something
is on the Internet does not mean
it is free to use. It is important
to check the copyright status of
a writer's work before using it to
avoid plagiarism.
TRADEMARK
INFRIGEMENT
Trademark infringement refers to the
unauthorized use of someone else's trademark
on products or services. If a trademark owner
finds someone infringing their registered
trademark, they can initiate legal action
against them. This can include seeking
damages and injunctions to stop the
unauthorized use. It is important to respect
and not use someone else's trademark without
obtaining proper authorization to avoid legal
consequences.
WHAT ARE THE
WAYS TO
PREVENT
PLAGIARISM,
COPYRIGHT
INFRINGEMENT
AND TRADEMARK
INFRINGEMENT??
To prevent plagiarism, copyright infringement, and
trademark infringement, here are some key measures
to consider:

1. Properly cite sources: Always give credit to the

original authors or creators by citing their work when
using their ideas, text, images, or videos.

2. Seek permission: Obtain permission from the

copyright owner before using their copyrighted
material, especially if it is not explicitly labeled as open
for public use.

3. Use plagiarism detection tools: Utilize plagiarism

detection software to check your work for any
unintentional plagiarism before submission or
publication.

4. Create original work: Focus on generating your own

ideas and content rather than relying heavily on
others' work. Add your unique perspective and
analysis to avoid plagiarism.
Intellectual property violations encompass plagiarism,
presenting others' work as one's own, copyright
infringement through unauthorized use of copyrighted
material, and trademark infringement, using recognizable
symbols deceptively. These transgressions not only breach
ethical standards but also incur legal consequences,
including civil and criminal penalties. Upholding
intellectual property rights is vital for fostering creativity,
safeguarding original works, and preserving the integrity of
creative and commercial pursuits.
