14. Out of a pair of complementary angles, one angle is two-third of the other. Find the angles.

Let one angle be x

Other angle = (2/3)x

When the sum of the measures of two angles is 90°, the angles are called complementary angles.

A rectangular field had a length of 6x meters and a breadth of 30 meters.

i) Write an expression to find the perimeter of the field.


ii) Sandra took 4 rounds around the field. Find the total distance covered by Sandra in
terms of ‘x’.
iii) If the perimeter of the field is 240 m, Find the length.

i ¿ P=2 ( 6 x +30 )

ii ¿ Total distance=4 × Perimeter

¿ 4 × ( 12 x+60 )

¿ 48 x +240

iii ¿ 240=12 x +60

12 x=180

x=15

length=6 ×15=90 m.

16 The figures 32.1 and 32.2 show a rectangle and an isosceles triangle whose measurements are
in cm.

i) Find the perimeter of the rectangle and triangle.
