CHAPTER I

Problem and Its Background

Rationale

Pastries is one of the most delicate foods that is usually consumed by a vast

number of individuals around the world. Furthermore, there are variety of types, shapes,

texture, and especially taste of this baking ground journey since the ancient times.

Moreover, “let them eat cake” is the most famous quote attributed to Marie Antionette,

the queen of France during the French revolution. As the story goes, it was the queen’s

response upon being told that her starving peasant subject had no bread. And leads to

the popularity of cake and other pastries.

The need for a nutritious meal nowadays is quite significant for health cautious

individual. Yet, it is presumably hard to find and may not be suited for a consumers taste

especially if the chosen infuser is a form vegetable. In addition, the adjusting and

reformulating its ingredients may have a great impact in the taste of the product which

may lead to consumers acceptability. Furthermore, The Malunggay (Moringa Oleifera)

plant is a very nutritious vegetable which can help prevent sickness because of its many

health benefits (Lavilla, Gaytos, Lacaba, Doblon, Quimbo, 2019) that suggest

Malunggay is a suit for a flavoring ingredient.

A cake with an infused Malunggay ingredient is beneficial for a health cautious

person with a pastry taste and be a good product in conducting a business. In this study

the researchers will proceed in formulating a consumer suit and marketable Malunggay-

infused cake. Moreover, main objectives of this study are (a) To analyze the nutritional
content of Malunggay-infused cake in comparison to traditional cake variants, focusing

on key nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, and fiber. (b) To assess the consumer

acceptability of Malunggay-infused cake through sensory evaluation methods, including

taste, texture, aroma, and overall satisfaction. (c) To determine the feasibility of

Malunggay-infused cake as a marketable product by evaluating consumer purchase

intent and identifying potential barriers and opportunities for market entry.

Statement of the Problem

In recent years, there has been a growing demand for healthier and more

nutritious food options, driven by increasing health consciousness among consumers.

Malunggay (Moringa oleifera), known for its rich nutritional profile, is emerging as a

popular ingredient due to its high content of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

However, despite its potential health benefits, integrating Malunggay into baked goods,

such as cakes, remains underexplored.

The primary problem addressed in this research is to evaluate the feasibility of

incorporating Malunggay into cake recipes from both a nutritional and consumer

acceptability perspective. Specifically, the study aims to address the following

questions:

1. Nutritional Content: What is the impact of adding Malunggay on the nutritional profile

of the cake compared to traditional cake recipes? This includes analyzing the levels of

essential nutrients and determining any improvements in the cake's overall health

benefits.
2. Consumer Acceptability: How do consumers perceive the taste, texture, and overall

quality of Malunggay-infused cake compared to standard cakes? Understanding

consumer preferences and acceptance is crucial for determining the market potential of

this product.

3. Feasibility as a Marketable Product: What are the practical considerations for

introducing Malunggay-infused cakes to the market, including cost implications,

production challenges, and potential consumer interest?

Hypothesis

Nutritional Content:

Null Hypothesis (H₀): There is no significant difference in the nutritional

content (e.g., vitamins, minerals, and fiber) between Malunggay-infused cake

and traditional cake variants.

Alternative Hypothesis (H₁): There is a significant difference in the

nutritional content (e.g., vitamins, minerals, and fiber) between Malunggay-

infused cake and traditional cake variants.

Consumer Acceptability:

Null Hypothesis (H₀): There is no significant difference in consumer

acceptability (in terms of taste, texture, aroma, and overall satisfaction) between

Malunggay-infused cake and traditional cake variants.

Alternative Hypothesis (H₁): There is a significant difference in

consumer acceptability (in terms of taste, texture, aroma, and overall satisfaction)

between Malunggay-infused cake and traditional cake variants.

Feasibility as a Marketable Product:

Null Hypothesis (H₀): Malunggay-infused cake does not significantly

influence consumer purchase intent and does not present any significant

differences in marketability compared to traditional cake variants.

Alternative Hypothesis (H₁): Malunggay-infused cake significantly

influences consumer purchase intent and presents significant differences in

marketability compared to traditional cake variants.

Scope and Delimitation

This study focuses on the development, nutritional analysis, and consumer

acceptability of Malunggay-infused cake as a potential marketable product.

The study will be conducted within the Barangay Inayagan City of Naga, Cebu.

Moreover, the sensory evaluation will cover 100 participants and include a demographic

range of age and classification of gender. The study will focus solely on cakes infused

with Malunggay as the primary ingredient. Other potential vegetable-infused pastries or

variations of Malunggay incorporation (e.g., in other baked goods) will not be explored.

The allotted time frame that the research will be conducting this study is six

months, which begins in the first week of September and ends in the last week of
January. Furthermore, the supply of Malunggay is from in the yard garden of Inayagan

National High School and the other ingredients is from the

Significance of the Study

The study on the development, nutritional analysis, and consumer acceptability

of Malunggay-infused cake holds significant importance in several key areas:

Health and Nutrition:

In an era where consumers are increasingly health-conscious, this study

contributes valuable insights into the potential of Malunggay (Moringa Oleifera)

as a nutritious ingredient in baked goods. By integrating Malunggay into cakes,

the research offers a novel approach to enhancing the nutritional content of a

popular food item. This could lead to the development of healthier pastry options

that cater to the dietary needs of health-conscious individuals, thereby

addressing a gap in the market for nutritious and appealing food products.

Food Science and Innovation:

The research pushes the boundaries of traditional baking by introducing a

vegetable-based ingredient into cakes, a product traditionally known for its

indulgent and often less nutritious profile. The study's findings can inspire further

innovation in the food industry, encouraging the exploration of other

unconventional ingredients that can enhance the nutritional value of baked goods

without compromising taste and texture.

Consumer Behavior and Market Trends:

Understanding consumer preferences and acceptability of Malunggay-

infused cakes is crucial for food manufacturers and entrepreneurs looking to

introduce healthier options into the market. The study provides insights into how

consumers perceive the taste, texture, and overall appeal of these cakes, which

can inform product development, marketing strategies, and business decisions.

By identifying potential barriers and opportunities for market entry, the research

aids in assessing the feasibility of launching a new product that meets both

nutritional and sensory expectations.

Local Agricultural Development:

The study highlights the use of locally-sourced Malunggay, potentially

promoting sustainable agricultural practices and supporting local farmers. By

demonstrating the viability of Malunggay as a key ingredient in commercial food

products, the research could lead to increased demand for this nutritious plant,

thereby boosting the local economy and encouraging the cultivation of

Malunggay in the region.

Educational Contribution:

For students, educators, and researchers, this study serves as a valuable

resource for understanding the intersection of nutrition, food science, and

consumer behavior. It offers a practical example of how scientific research can

be applied to address real-world challenges in the food industry, particularly in

the development of healthier food options that align with consumer preferences.
In summary, this study not only contributes to the field of food science by

exploring the innovative use of Malunggay in cake production but also provides practical

implications for the food industry, local agriculture, and consumer health. Its findings

Review of Related Literature and Studies

This chapter reveals the professional literature and studies reviewed to give

insights into the content of the study “Typing Future”.

You might wonder why learning Microsoft Office Tools matters for students'

academic performance. Well, mastering these tools helps students easily create and

organize documents, presentations, and spreadsheets. It makes their academic tasks

smoother and boosts their digital literacy, which is crucial in today's education and future

careers.

Related Studies

The student’s future in their studies from these days now depends on the new

technologies and programs that may enhance their skills in digital literacy. Also, it can

develop their self-confidence through engaging in this field.

 Digital Literacy

The study by (Lee, 2014) stated that digital literacy education provides digitally

illiterate people with learning and digital opportunities to improve their digital literacy

through education in an informal setting and to facilitate digital connection and inclusion.

Moreover, the findings of (Shopova, 2014) reveal that the empirical component to study

and analyze the extent and manner of use of ICT by students in the learning process, to

establish their motivation for improving the skills of digital literacy, to enable them not

only to raise their academic results but also to provide students the opportunity to be
successful in society without lag behind the ever-changing demands of work and life.

Furthermore, the research of (Yustika & Iswati, 2020) reveals that digital literacy is the

best predictor of academic success, measured by the final grades, namely components

of academic skills, reading, and writing abilities.

The study of (Rupnik & Avsec, 2019) suggests that the student’s interest in

technology and the perception of the effects of technology are the best positive

predictors of technological literacy, while traditional craft-based work and skills are the

most negative predictors. Moreover, according to the study of (Gabriel, Campbell,

Wiebe, MacDonald, & McAuley, 2012) stated that pedagogical discussions harness the

learning potentials of digital technologies and embrace the social construction of

knowledge as well as individual acquisition of the students. Moreover, the findings of

(Henderson, Selwyn, & Aston, 2015), technology-enabled learning can develop a better

understanding of the realities of students’ encounters with digital technology.

Furthermore, the study of (Hidayat, Lee, Mason, & Khaerudin, 2022) perceived

usefulness of the Internet and the ability to use different functions of digital devices and

applications had a stronger correlation with increased benefits of online English

learning.

Students need to undergo training in digital skills before entering university, to

equip them with a higher level of digital competence (García, Salguero, Sánchez, &

Campo, 2020). Technology is not only a knowledge provider but also a co-creator of

information, a mentor, and an assessor (Halee, Javaid, Qadri, & Suman, 2016). In

addition, higher levels of digital literacy positively affected the high output of learning

outcomes to student academic performance (Yustika & Iswati, 2020).

The findings of the study of (Salehi & Amiri1, 2019) indicated that Microsoft Word

was indeed beneficial to the grammar of the participants of the experimental group

because they got significantly higher grammar scores than the participants of the control

group. Furthermore, the study of (Yulanda, 2023) stated that Microsoft Word software

makes it easier for students to write and develop their creativity in writing. Therefore, the

author wants to see how the impact of using an application. In addition, in the study of

(Nji, Awele, Onuoha, & Chinweobo, 2021) it was recommended among others that

students should explore the effective use of Microsoft Word referencing in their works

for originality. Moreover, suggested MS Word training increased Writing Self-Efficacy

(WSE), improved developmental writing course progress, and improved next semester

enrollment and progress in Writing Intensive courses (WI courses). Also, the scalability

of online interventions such as the one studied here, and the observed changes in

WSE, make a compelling case for large-scale replication (Barry, Acee, Chair, Balzhiser,

Paulson, Price, & Summers, 2018).

 Digital Empowerment

The importance of technology is now crucial for student’s way of understanding.

Indeed, most of the students don’t have the capability of using these technologies but

finding ways to solve these digital problems can aid the lack of students’ digital

competence. In relation, the study of (Caballé, Cervera, & Mon, 2020) found that most

authors do not believe that young people have the digital abilities that they are assumed

to have. In other words, students do not have a high level of digital competence.

Educational institutions therefore need to help them develop this competence, which is

so necessary in the context of 21st-century education. In addition, at this time it is clear

that those who are either denied access to/cannot use technology in an educational

context will lose out they will not be empowered (Akkoyunlu, Soylu, & Çağlar, 2010).

The main factor conditioning the acceleration of innovative changes in the

education process is the extensive implementation of digital technologies in universities.

They become one of the key mechanisms for creating the competitive advantages of

education institutions in the light of the expansion of the Internet, the development of a

new, and the emergence of “digital natives” who are familiar with computers from an

early age and wish to use smartphones, tablets, laptops, and the Internet in their studies

(Kryukov & Shakhgeldyan, 2012). In an era driven by technology and connectivity,

where the sphere of learning goes beyond conventional classrooms, e-Service-Learning

(e-SL) merges the possibilities of technology with the principles of experiential

education in a powerful blend (Aramburuzabala, Culcasi & Cerrillo, 2023)

 Success with Digital Technologies

The findings of (Ainin, Amaliyah, Rifa, Suhartatik, Laila, & Fitriani, 2021) show that

efforts to overcome student learning difficulties in both madrasahs were carried out

through several media namely: PowerPoint media, audio in the form of CDs or

cassettes and headphones, visual in the form of graphic media containing images,

posters, caricatures and audiovisual form of television. Furthermore, the use of

instructional media related to information technology, has the use and function of each,

adjusting the material being studied or taught to students. Moreover, the study by

(Brunton & Brown, 2020) stated that learner success is impacted by both learner

characteristics and institutional structures and processes. Institutions can enhance

learner success through strategic initiatives and the targeted deployment of effective

learner support (Thomas, Hill, O’Mahony, & Yorke, 2017).

Chapter III

Research Methodology

This section clarifies how the study was carried out, outlining the reasons and

methods employed by the researchers to collect, present, and analyze the required

information for addressing the research questions. They also provide justifications for

opting for these particular approaches.

Research Design

Qualitative research is a type of research that explores and provides deeper

insights into real-world problems (Tenny, J. Brannan, & G. Brannan, 2022). Moreover,

this research uses a case study approach that allows in-depth, multi-faceted

explorations of complex issues in their real-life settings (Crowe, Cresswell, Robertson,

Huby, Avery, & Sheikh, 2011). In addition, instead of looking at many cases, researchers

focus on one or a few and explore them in their real-life settings. They collect detailed

information through interviews, observations, and looking at documents. The idea is to

get a full picture of what's going on, considering all the complexities. The goal isn't to

make broad conclusions that apply everywhere but to learn more about the specific

situation being studied. To acquire the needed information for the study, researchers

interview the Senior High school students of Inayagan National High School – Senior

High in terms of their perspective on the importance of learning these MS Office tools.

Research Respondents

The respondents consist of senior high students from Inayagan National High

School – Senior High School, totaling 60 individuals, comprising 30 students from grade
11 and 30 from grade 12 across all strands. This selection accounts for roughly 50% of

the total senior high population, ensuring the study's reliability. Random sampling is

utilized to select respondents, specifically employing simple random sampling, where

the researcher randomly chooses a subset of respondents from the population.

Research Location

This study was conducted at Inayagan National High School – Senior High,

located in Upper Bayong, Inayagan, City of Naga, Cebu. The organization offers both

grade 11 and grade 12, with three strands: STEM, HUMSS, and SMAW. These strands

belong to the academic tracks of Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS), and

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), as well as Shielded Metal

Arc Welding (SMAW) for Technical-Vocational Livelihood (TVL) (Baron, 2023).

Inayagan National High School – Senior High priorly located in the market of

Inayagan (Rikio) in Sitio Bayong, Barangay Inayagan, City of Naga, Cebu. Most of the

students are just trekking or riding motorcycles to attend school.

The researchers and the interviewee will only conduct the interview inside the

school premises so that the identity of the respondents and confidential.

Inayagan National High School

(Inayagan National High School, Inayagan, City of Naga, Cebu, Google Maps, 2023)

Research Instrument

Research instruments are valuable because the model can define the constructs

of valid items and provide a clear definition of the measurable constructs that are

consistent with theoretical expectations (Mohama, Sulaiman, Sern, & Sallehd, 2014).

Interestingly, to obtain the appropriate data needed, the researchers constructed

subjective open-ended questionnaires to be answered by both non-skilled students and

skilled students of Senior High students in performing the MS Office tools. The content

of these questionnaires are questions that can easily and surely answered by the

interviewees. This is the primary tool for acquiring reliable data from the students of

Inayagan National High School-Senior High School.

Process of forming the research questionnaire:

Step 1: Drafting the questionnaires that are based on the research

objectives.

Step 2: The questionnaires will be revised by our assigned teacher.

Step 3: Validate the questionnaires by our school head.

Questionnaires:

1. How do you think your ability to use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel affects

your grades?
2. What are the biggest challenges you face when using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, or

Excel for school assignments?

3. Why do you think being good at Microsoft Office is important for your grades and

future plans?

4. What extra help or resources do you think would make you better at using Microsoft

Office?

5. How do you think the school could include Microsoft Office training in the curriculum?

6. How could working with other students or using peer support help you get better at

using Microsoft Office?

Data Gathering Procedure

These will no doubt help to improve the productivity and effectiveness of the

business (Houhamdi & Athamena, 2018). The data-gathering method that is used in this

study is simple random sampling. It is a work of randomly choosing respondents in a

certain field. To start this, a request letter is drafted to seek permission before diving into

the actual testing. Once the letter gets the green light, the researcher retrieves it. The

school head, along with class advisers and other faculty members, is then chosen to

participate in the process. To keep things focused and minimize interruptions from

ongoing class discussions, the questionnaire is administered during free periods. Ample

time is provided for students to respond thoughtfully to the questions. After completing

the data-gathering phase, the researchers organize the collected information, analyzing

data through a thematic method to glean insights for the study.

Ethical Consideration

 Informed Consent: Ensure that participants (students and their guardians)

understand the purpose of the research, the procedures involved, and their right

to withdraw at any time.

 Voluntary Participation: Participation should be voluntary, and students should

not feel coerced or pressured to take part in the study.

 Privacy and Confidentiality: Safeguard the privacy of participants by avoiding

the use of personally identifiable information in reporting or publications. Ensure

that data is stored securely.

 Respect for Participants: Treat students with respect, ensuring that the

research process is not intrusive or disruptive to their learning environment.

 Beneficence: Strive to maximize benefits and minimize potential harm to

participants. Ensure that the research contributes positively to their educational

experience.

research, ensuring that the study does not cause any physical or emotional harm

to the participants.

 Parental/Guardian Involvement: Communicate with parents or guardians,

keeping them informed about the research and obtaining their consent when

necessary.

 Age-Appropriate Language: Use language and materials that are appropriate

for the age and comprehension level of the students.

CHAPTER IV
Presentation, Analysis and Interpretation of Data

In the conducted interviews with a total number of respondents of 23 in the

Inayagan National High School– Senior High. Challenges have been occurred during

the data collection, which leads to the lack of response rates. The researchers have had

interviewed roughly one-third of the allotted 60 respondents of the Senior High School

and only 7 responded from STEM strand, 16 responded from HUMSS strand and no

responses from SMAW strand. Due to this challenge, the researcher’s uses stratified

sampling method; this sampling involves dividing the population into subpopulations that

may differ in important ways. It allows you draw more precise conclusions by ensuring

that every subgroup is properly represented in the sample (Shona McCombes, 2019)

What is the impact of Microsoft Office Tools on the academic performance of

students, considering their capabilities in their studies?

 Impact of Microsoft Office Tools on Academic Performance

Literature suggests that mastering Microsoft Office Tools significantly

impacts students' academic performance by enhancing digital literacy (Lee,

2014; Shopova, 2014). In our conducted interviews all of the students responded

that Microsoft Office made a positive impact in academic performance. Moreover,

one of the respondents from STEM strand said “Using Microsoft Word,

PowerPoint, and Excel positively impacts my grades by enhancing my ability to

create well-formatted documents, visually appealing presentations, and

organized data analysis”. These skills not only help me present my work more

effectively but also improve the overall quality of my assignments, leading to

better academic performance. In addition, a respondent from the HUMMS strand

articulated that “the Microsoft office tools is very useful to your study because the

other project and it will affect to your performance”.

 Digital Literacy and Academic Success

Studies have found that digital literacy is a strong predictor of academic

success, including proficiency in academic skills, reading, and writing (Yustika &

Iswati, 2020). The results from the interviews shows that all of the respondents

stated that Microsoft Office enhances their digital literacy especially in creating

presentations and documents. Moreover, one of our respondents from the

HUMSS strand articulated that “Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel have

several advantages for me as a student, such as making my presentations

clearer”. In addition, a response from a STEM student stated that “Microsoft

Word, PowerPoint, and Excel have several advantages for me as a student, such

as making my presentations clearer”.

 Use of Microsoft Word in Improving Grammar and Creativity in Writing

The use of Microsoft Word has been shown to improve grammar skills and

facilitate creativity in writing among students (Salehi & Amiri, 2019; Yulanda,

2023). In our conducted interview all of the students concluded that using

Microsoft Word can enhance your grammar and writing skills, which will impact

their academic performance. Furthermore, one of the interviewed respondents

stated that “The Ability to use the word, PowerPoint and excel affects your grade

in a way that it can be used in class”.

Respondents expressed a need for more comprehensive training in Microsoft

Office Tools to improve their academic performance. They highlighted the importance of

mastering these tools for creating documents, presentations, and spreadsheets

efficiently, which directly impacts their academic success.

What specific ways can be proposed to broaden the knowledge of using MS

Office Tools among Inayagan National High School – Senior High School

students?

 Ways to the Broadening Knowledge of MS Office Tools

To broaden the knowledge of using MS Office Tools among Inayagan

National High School – Senior High School students, it's essential to consider the

findings that digital literacy education provides opportunities for skill

enhancement (Lee, 2014). The Microsoft Office is quite a difficult to use, due to

its device needed for it to run. The researchers observed in the conducted

interview that in 23 students there are 8 unfamiliar and 13 is needed an

assistance in order to obtain the knowledge in using these tools. Moreover, one

of the interviewed students said that “The extra help or resources that I think

would help me become better at using Microsoft are having my very own laptop

or computer. As these things are very helpful and very easy to use”. This signifies

the need of computer program for our school. Moreover, educational institutions

play a crucial role in developing students' digital competence, which is necessary

in today's education (Caballé et al., 2020).

 Importance of Digital Literacy Education

Empirical studies have shown that ICT usage among students not only

improves academic results but also equips them to succeed in society (Shopova,

2014). The importance of digital literacy from today is now quite significant,

especially for those students who are capable of the new digital applications.

Regardless of that, there are still students that are incapable in using these tools.

Furthermore, one of the respondents from HUMSS strand stated that “Being

aware about Microsoft is essential for today's age. It would be ideal for a student

who aims to achieve a good rating because it allows you to learn and grow”.

Additionally, respondents emphasized the importance of incorporating practical

and hands-on training sessions in the curriculum to enhance their proficiency in using

MS Office Tools. They expressed a desire for more interactive learning experiences that

focus on real-world applications of these tools.

How can Inayagan National High School – Senior High School implement targeted

training programs or workshops to enhance students' proficiency in using MS

Office Tools?

 Implementation of Targeted Training Programs

Implementing targeted training programs or workshops to enhance

students' proficiency in using MS Office Tools can be informed by research

highlighting the importance of technology-enabled learning (Henderson et al.,

2015). In the conducted interview, most of the students of Inayagan National Hig

School shows that students that whose incapable in using Microsoft Office tools,

desired to add some curriculum inclusion of the computer literacy subjects.

Moreover, an interviewed respondent stated that “students need to understand

the importance of using Microsoft and there should be a place for them to teach

them how to use these things easily”.

 Technology-Enabled Learning and Academic Performance

Studies suggest that higher levels of digital literacy positively affect

learning outcomes and academic performance (Yustika & Iswati, 2020).

Technology enabled learning is now widely speeded throughout the globe, some

of it is more in online classes, online reports and many others. Microsoft Office

tools is the most common application that had been used, presentations can

make the oral recitations of the students through online or in personal. which is

important for a student’s success. Moreover, one of the respondents in our

interviews stated that “I think using these Microsoft apps were a big help to me

as a senior high student. Considering the educational system nowadays, most of

us use these apps to be able to access such online materials such as soft

copies, making visual aids through ppt, and spreadsheets. In using these apps,

we had a lot of achievements including our grades”. This implies the significance

of these tools. Additionally, Interventions such as MS Word training have been

shown to improve writing self-efficacy and course progress among students (Nji

et al., 2021).

Respondents indicated a willingness to participate in targeted training programs

or workshops aimed at enhancing their proficiency in MS Office Tools. They expressed

a need for personalized instruction and practical exercises to reinforce their learning

and improve their skills effectively.

How might collaborative learning platforms or peer-to-peer support systems

contribute to creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for mastering

MS Office Tools?

 Collaborative Learning Platforms and Peer Support Systems

Collaborative learning platforms and peer-to-peer support systems can

contribute to creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for mastering

MS Office Tools (Gabriel et al., 2012). The relationship between peers and

friends is beneficial for a student, especially in boosting their self-esteem. This

system can make a huge step in enhancing the capability of the student in

making their own decisions. Furthermore, learning the Microsoft Office tools with

peers and friends can be significant in developing one’s relationship. Moreover, a

student from HUMSS strand responded that “I think for many years, it helped me

boost my self-esteem not only does this make my student life easier but also this

can also be a big help in the future. Like applying jobs, or college universities”

 Harnessing Learning Potentials of Digital Technologies

Research indicates that pedagogical discussions harness the learning

potentials of digital technologies, fostering both individual acquisition of

knowledge and social construction of knowledge (Gabriel et al., 2012). The

learning potentials of a student’s marks up his/her personality, regardless to its

standings in life. Technologies can make that potential be a factor of change for a

student that can shape its future. With self-courage and weed peers a student

can unlock its full potential. Moreover, a response from a HUMSS student that

states “Working with classmates or getting help from friends can make learning
Microsoft Office easier”. Moreover, the extensive implementation of digital

technologies in universities has been identified as a key mechanism for creating

competitive advantages in education (Kryukov & Shakhgeldyan, 2012).

Respondents highlighted the benefits of collaborative learning environments and

peer-to-peer support systems in mastering MS Office Tools. They expressed a

preference for interactive platforms where they can engage with peers, share insights,

and learn from each other's experiences.

CHAPTER V
Summary, Conclusions, and Recommendations

total respondents of 23 students, the researchers come up that Microsoft Office has a

100% positive impact in nurturing their academic performance. Moreover, there are

challenges that the students encountered, in the 23 respondents there 8 students which

are incapable using these tools, 13 respondents needed assistance or mentoring to

enhance their proficiency of these tools, and only two respondents said they know how

to use it. Additionally, students responded in how important the Microsoft Office showed

that it is important in organizing tasks, enhance their productivity, and can benefit their

future. Furthermore, all of the responded students desired a curriculum inclusion in

these computerize subject and value the support of their peers and friends.

Conclusion

The incapable knowledge of students towards the use of Microsoft Office that

hinders the academic performance can be a big problem for the learner’s future and for

the operation of the Inayagan National High School curriculums in digital learning

subjects in the school year 2023-2024. Theories had been created in this study that

suggests Microsoft Office has a significant attribute to the academic proficiency,

develops their job skills, and boost their self-confidence. A literature review had been

conducted in similar published studies that support digital literacy, digital empowerment,

and success with digital technologies.

In wrapping up, the research methodology used here sets a solid groundwork for

understanding what senior high school students think about learning MS Office tools. By

talking directly to students at Inayagan National High School – Senior High and using

random sampling, the study aims to get a good mix of opinions from different students.

By keeping things simple and doing the interviews at the school, the researchers make

sure everyone feels comfortable and their privacy is respected. They also make sure to

follow ethical guidelines, like getting permission and making sure students know they

can opt out if they want. Overall, this approach gives us a good chance to really

understand what students think about learning MS Office, and it could help schools

make decisions about teaching these skills in the future.

In wrapping up, the study at Inayagan National High School – Senior High gives

us some insights into how students feel about using Microsoft Office Tools for their

studies. While we got some good feedback from 23 students, we also faced some

challenges. For example, not all students from different academic strands shared their

thoughts, which might affect how we understand the importance of these tools across all

students. Despite these challenges, the students we talked to generally agreed that

Microsoft Office helps them with their schoolwork. They mentioned things like improving

their digital skills, writing, and making presentations. However, it's important to

remember that not everyone got to share their thoughts, so these results might not

represent everyone's experiences.

Moving forward, it's essential for the school to find ways to make sure all

students get the help they need with Microsoft Office. This might include more hands-on

learning and finding ways for students to help each other out.
In conclusion, by prioritizing digital literacy education and leveraging collaborative

learning approaches, Inayagan National High School – Senior High can empower

students with the necessary skills and competencies to succeed academically and

thrive in today's digital age.

Recommendations

Based in foregoing findings and conclusion , the following recommendations is

advanced.

1. Get More Students Involved: Try to talk to more students from different classes

or academic tracks to get a wider range of opinions on how useful Microsoft

Office is for their schoolwork.

2. Find Out Why Some Students Didn't Join In: Look into why some students

didn't take part in the interviews. Understanding their reasons could help figure

out how to get more students involved in future studies.

3. Compare Different Academic Tracks: See if there are differences in how

students from different classes or academic tracks think about Microsoft Office.

This could give a clearer picture of its importance across the school.

4. Keep Checking on Students Over Time: Follow up with students to see if using

Microsoft Office continues to help them with their schoolwork over time. This

could show if it's really making a difference in their learning.

5. See if Training Programs Make a Difference: Check if special classes or

workshops on using Microsoft Office actually help students get better at it. This

could show if these kinds of extra lessons are worth it.

6. Let Students Learn from Each Other: Explore if students can learn better by

working together or helping each other out with Microsoft Office. This could be a

useful way for them to improve their skills.

These simple research ideas can help understand more about how Microsoft Office is

helping students at Inayagan National High School – Senior High with their studies.
