Congratulations! You are now heading to the final track. It is time to apply what
you have learned about primary and secondary sources. For your final task, choose a primary
material. It could be a poem, a short story, a novel, a film, an artwork, or a picture. Then,
evaluate, criticize, and interpret your chosen material to be able to create a good analysis.
You may read an example of a movie analysis of the Disney film “Encanto”

Analysis: I feel like it’s not hard to say that the dark knight has the best
screenplay in any superhero movie. The difference of the dark knight to any
superhero movie is that the story is the spectacle. There was a scene where only
two characters were sitting talking about their ideologies and that was the
spectacle. The script and dialogue with the dark knight is one of the best and
how the characters interact. One of the reasons why The Dark Knight stands
out today as the best superhero movie ever made, even in front of Marvel
movies like Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, is because it’s the most
grounded and brilliant interpretation in real life. of, not just Batman, but a
superhero. The Dark Knight puts its supporting characters front and center,
and they are important to the story. Gordon and Harvey Dent played active
roles in bringing down the Joker, while Rachel, Lucius, and Alfred did their
part as full -fledged sidekicks capable of protecting themselves. It made the
story about a collective group, as opposed to a person. Dark Knight isn’t a
typical superhero movie, nor does it play like one. The center of the film shows
Rachel Dawes being murdered by the Joker and Wayne’s new ally Harvey
Dent suffering horrific facial and psychological wounds that have damaged
him as a person. There's no happy ending, which is a direct slap in the face of
most superhero movies that have come before, and that’s the perfect way to
change things. The Dark Knight took a different approach with several story
arcs and thematic elements combined into one overarching message. It showed
that when faced with a crisis situation, the best and worst traits of mankind
will come out at their extreme. This is shown in the boat scene where an
ultimatum is given to the passengers on both ships, and also in the final act of
the film when Batman is sealed as the villain and made a scapegoat for the
wrath of the Gotham population. Christopher Nolan dug deep into the fabric
of humanity, and our behavior in times of great danger. The Dark Knight
exposes Batman as a hero who can fail, with his failure to rescue both Harvey
and Rachel as a prime example. Commissioner Gordon and Harvey Dent are
also examples of imperfect characters.
