A Prayer of Personal Freedom

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 115:1-11, Exodus 6:1-13

Reflections of the Heart:

“The Lord is my strength and my song; He has become my victory. He is my God, and I will praise Him. He is
my father’s God, and I will exalt Him! The Lord is a warrior; yes, the Lord is His name!” Exodus 15:2-3

Scriptural Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Lord, we thank You for hearing from heaven and blessing us. Thank You for Your
compassion and unfailing love towards us. Thank You for freeing us from the bondage of sin and giving us
eternal life. May Your Name be kept holy. You are our hiding place. You protect us from trouble and surround
us with songs of victory. We give thanks to You, Lord of lords. Your faithful love endures forever. To You, who
alone does mighty miracles; Your faithful love endures forever. To You, who made the heavens so skillfully;
Your faithful love endures forever. O Lord, our Lord, Your majestic Name fills the earth.

Lord God, King of Heaven’s Armies, we declare that because we belong to You, the power of the life-giving
Spirit has freed us from the power of sin that leads to death. Therefore, we confess that our Church Family
members, relatives, friends, and co-workers, who were held captive by the bondage of sin will be set free
through Jesus Christ. We declare that we will strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that
so easily trips us up. We will run with endurance the race that God has set before us. We believe and accept
that we are God’s masterpiece and He has created us anew in Christ Jesus. We will do the good things that
God has planned for us long ago. We declare that we will throw off our old sinful natures and our former ways
of life, which are corrupted by lust and deception. We confess that there will be a spiritual renewal of our
thoughts and attitudes through Christ Jesus which displays our new nature which is righteous and holy like
You. Lord, we choose to put away all falsehood and tell our neighbor the truth. We proclaim that we will not let
anger control us, as we do this, we will give no place to the devil. Lord, we decree that we do not wage war as
humans do, but we will use Your mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of
human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps us from
knowing You and we declare that every rebellious thought be held captive and we will teach them to obey
Christ Jesus. We command addictions, ungodly habits and strongholds to be broken, in Jesus’ Name.

Holy Spirit, touch our hearts to trust completely in You and Your Word. Lord, heal every emotional and
psychological wound and restore self-confidence and self-worth. Give us the desires of our hearts, that please
You, as we delight in You. Help us to fulfill Your purpose for our lives. Because of Your great compassion, blot
out the stains of our sins. Wash us clean from our guilt and purify us from our sins. Holy Spirit, create in us
clean hearts, and renew a loyal spirit within each of us.

Sin has a foothold in my life in the following areas (list them). I will take the following action steps to
break sins hold on my life (list those actions).

Mighty Father, please forgive us for all acts of sinfulness including: idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions,
jealousies, outbursts of wrath, adultery, fornication, homosexuality, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,
envy, murders, drunkenness and revelries. Forgive us for lying, cheating, stealing, slander, strife, malice, envy,
jealousy, gossip and backbiting. Forgive us for selfishness, disobedience and rebellion. Father, forgive us for
relying on ourselves instead of You. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed.) Holy
Spirit, remind our Pastors and their families to forgive each other and other people, and please help them to
forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask
the Holy Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He shows you,
say aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused
by unforgiveness.)
Lord, help us all to not yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.

Lord, You are King! Let the nations tremble. You sit on Your throne between the cherubim; let the whole earth
quake! Lord, You sit in majesty in Jerusalem, exalted above all the nations. Your Name is great, awesome
and holy! Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
