1. What is one of the outcomes of the learning process?

acquisition of knowledge is one of the outcomes of the learning process.

2. What are the categories of knowledge? Describe each.

Explicit Knowledge: This refers to knowledge that is easily articulated, written down, and shared.
Implicit Knowledge: This refers to knowledge that is not consciously aware of but influences our actions and
decisions
Procedural Knowledge: This type of knowledge refers to the "know-how" of performing a task or skill
Declarative Knowledge: This category encompasses facts, concepts, and information that can be expressed
in declarative sentences
Contextual Knowledge: This type of knowledge is specific to a particular situation or context

3. WHAT ARE THE OTHER WAYS OF CATEGORIZING KNOWLEDGE?

Source
Level of abstraction
Degree of diffusion

4. What are the levels of declarative knowledge?

Factual knowledge
Conceptual knowledge
Procedural knowledge
Metacognitive knowledge

5. What are the dimensions of knowledge according to Anderson & Krathwohl?

Describe these dimensions.
Factual Knowledge: This dimension encompasses basic facts, terms, and details that are essential for
understanding a topic
Conceptual Knowledge: This dimension involves understanding the relationships between different facts
and concepts, forming a coherent understanding of a topic.
Procedural Knowledge: This dimension focuses on knowing how to perform a task or skill, including the
steps, procedures, and strategies involved.
Metacognitive Knowledge: This dimension refers to knowledge about one's own cognitive processes,
including how to learn effectively, monitor understanding, and regulate learning strategies

6. What is the acquisition of knowledge?

Knowledge acquisition is the process of gaining new knowledge and information. It
involves actively seeking, processing, and integrating new information into our existing
knowledge base.

7. How will a person improve this acquired knowledge?

Improving acquired knowledge requires active engagement and continuous learning. Regularly applying
knowledge in real-world situations, reflecting on learning experiences, seeking feedback, and connecting
new knowledge to existing understanding helps solidify understanding. Maintaining a growth mindset and
actively seeking new experiences, as well as seeking mentorship from experienced individuals, can further
enhance knowledge acquisition.

8. Discuss ONE of these approaches in dealing with knowledge or information of experts

• Detecting Features and Meaningful Patterns of Organization

• Organization and Depth of Information.

• Fluent Retrieval

• Adaptive Expertise

• Strategies

• Spreading Out and Consolidating Learning

• Adaptive Expertise means that experts can handle new or different situations with flexibility. Instead of only using the
same old methods, they can adjust their approach based on what the situation or what the students need. This ability
to adapt allows them to respond effectively, rather than sticking to a fixed way of doing things. This flexibility also helps
them find the best solutions, even when things are different or challenging. Also by adapting their strategies, experts
can learn from each situation apnd improve their skills over time.

9. What teaching methods or techniques that the teacher may be used for :
a. developing declarative knowledge?
Rehearsal Techniques: Implement strategies like flashcards or fact sheets to reinforce memory. Additionally,
regular review sessions can help strengthen retention and facilitate long-term recall of information.

b. developing concept learning?

Real-Life Applications: Encourage students to apply concepts to real-world situations for more understanding. This
approach helps students see the relevance of what they are learning and fosters deeper engagement with the material.

c. for learning procedures?

Demonstration: Show students how to perform a procedure step-by-step. Afterward, allowing students to practice the
procedure themselves ensures they gain hands-on experience and build confidence in their skills.

d. for learning of principles?

Simulations and Role-Playing: Allow students to experience principles in action through simulations or role-playing
scenarios. This method helps students understand how principles apply in different contexts and enhances their ability
to think critically and adapt to new situations.

10. Identify if the knowledge is declarative, procedural, or functional.

Procedural 1. Putting together the parts of a microscope earlier demonstrated by the teacher

Declarative 2. Reciting a poem earlier memorized

Declarative 3. Naming the parts of a flower correctly as read from a science book

Declarative 4. Reciting the table of multiplication

Procedural 5. Knowing how to ride a bicycle

Procedural 6. Knowing how to drive

Procedural 7. Applying first-aid procedure to a person who drowned

Functional 8. The teacher gave different types of rewards to his students who scored high

Procedural 9. Knowing how to bake a chocolate cake

Functional 10. With knowledge of simple machines, Mario could move a load in a cylindrical container.
