Certificate No: TAE00001KD
Revision No: 2
Application/Limitation
The installation is to be mechanical protected in accordance with DNV Rules and especially on weather decks, in cargo
hold areas and through cargo holds.
Applying powder coating on Cable Ladders and Trays will affect the ability to conduct current. The ability
to conduct current in the steel itself is unchanged, but the coating will work as a barrier.
DNV will still regard the type approval as valid for powder coated cable ladder if the ladders are properly
earthed to the structure.
Marking of product
Øglænd Systems – Type designation – Width – Material (cover marking).
Periodical assessment
The scope of the periodical assessment is to verify that the conditions stipulated for the Type approval is complied with
and that no alterations are made to the product design or choice of materials.

Dear Sir,
This is with reference to the Standard EN 50014:1997, which was withdrawn on 1st March
2007 and was superseded by the Standard EN60079-0:2004.
Presently EN 60079-0:2012 is current version of the standard in practice and friction test has
been omitted in the newest Version of the Standard EN 60079-0:2012.
Thanking you,

Details of Testing Surface Resistance Test of parts of non-metallic
materials
Applicable Standard Specification Clause 26.13 of EN 60079-0:2012
Test Requirement:
Test Procedure:
The Surface Resistance tested on a test piece comprising a rectangular plate with dimensions as defined
in Figure 5 of the EN 60079-0:2012. The test piece had an intact clean surface. Two parallel electrodes
were drawn on the test piece surface, using a conducting paint with a solvent which has no significant
effect on the surface resistance.
The test piece was cleaned with distilled water, then with isopropyl alcohol, then once more with distilled
water before being dried. Samples were untouched by bare hands, and were conditioned for 24 h at
23ºC and 50% relative humidity.
The tests were carried out under the same ambient conditions.
Requirement:
By suitable selection of the material so that surface resistance complies with limit given below when
measured in accordance with Clause 26.13 of EN 60079-0:2012;
Observation:
Surface resistance measured was >2000 MΩ at 50 ± 5 % relative humidity. No Sparking was observed
on any of the test materials.
REMARKS:
- The test results presented in the test report relates only to the specially prepared sample tested.
LOADING TEST
The table shows maximum allowed safe working load, safety factor is 1,7.
*According to the test procedure the length of the end span must be reduced to 3/4 of the support spacing.
I. Test over the splice/joint. The impedance (Z) shall not exceed 50 mΩ.
II. Test over the ladder/tray itself. The impedance (Z) shall not exceed 50 mΩ/m
I. TEST OVER THE SPLICE/JOINT II. TEST OVER THE LADDER ITSELF

900 0,42 Passed 900 1,03 Passed
IMPACT TEST*
The criteria for passing the test is that the samples show no signs of disintegration and/or deformation that impairs safety.
